03: Rogue

Book:Mavana; The Silver Omega Published:2024-11-6

Mavana was on her way out of Crest Pack after being escorted by the villagers when she heard rustling leaves, as if someone was sneaking up behind her.
Her pulse quickened as she became more aware of any unusual sounds. She felt a cold chill and goosebumps appeared on her skin.
“Who are you?” Mavana yelled and increased her pace while looking behind her. Five guys jumped out of the bush where they were hiding and ran after her. She was already aware that they were assassins, which prompted her to run faster, ignoring the pain her previously injured knees caused her.
“Do not let her escape, or we will all be dead.” The one who appears to be their leader voice dashed off in another direction, hoping to catch her at the front.
One of the remaining four men removed his bow from the strap and inserted an arrow. He positioned himself and pointed the arrow in her direction.
“She wants her death to come through her, so we were told not to kill her.” He was adamant that he had received another order from someone else to kill her, despite someone else’s attempt to stop him.
“Her life was purchased by someone else; the prize exceeds hers.” She let out a loud cry of pain as the arrow struck her right thigh with a great deal of force, and he turned to smile.
She fell flat on the ground as her legs crossed. Pulling her legs closer, she thought she might remove the arrow, but when she looked up, she saw the Boss emerging from the crossed path. In a moment, she was scrambling to her feet and stumbled into another race.
The boss released another arrow, this one going straight for her waist. She screamed in agony as she hit the ground once more, and she felt her backbone shift, producing more pain.
The assassins paused their steps to see what was about to happen, Mavana’s eyes changed from the normal color to crystal blue, while her clothes tore violently. Her body shifted, transforming into a large silver wolf, and a loud howl came out of her mouth. She had sleek, silver fur, with only her blood stain visible on it. The assassins fled right away after realizing this was the strangest thing they had ever seen.
They went into the village to make the announcement that an ordinary Omega had become the first silver wolf in their pack’s history.
Mavana ran off without even bothering to chase after them, stopping only when she reached a river that served as the final barrier separating the Crest pack from the smaller Teal pack. She considered crossing the river, but she reasoned that it would be the riskiest adventure. Instead, she chose to run past the riverbank to another pack.
She rubbed herself in the mud to hide her silver fur, which her parents warned her to stay away from since it would attract various bad things. She shifted at the age of nine, which was unusual for a wolf.
Her fur turned brown, giving her a rogue’s appearance. She ran and ran until she reached an unidentified place, but the power of a silver wolf overcame her strength, causing her to fall weakly to the ground. The Silverado Pack guards saw her and alerted before she turned into her human self.
“There is a rogue that has crossed over.” The messenger made an announcement, at which point the guards raced towards the tent and she transformed back into a human being, her clothes ripped and tattered to the point of almost revealing her nudeness.
The guards carried her without regard for her nakedness, tying her hands back with chains before transporting her to the pack house. It was the first time a female rogue had appeared on their border, and it was unexpected.
The Alpha’s Mother was the first to emerge, and she ordered that she be thrown into the prison without food or water.
“Make sure you torture her until she confesses; The Pack is extremely sensitive, and I will not tolerate any sly movement.” She spoke up and walked back into the pack house, followed by several maids.
***************
The meeting was taking longer than usual, and Alpha Damian was already frustrated. He sat still, staring at the elders and ministers arguing amongst themselves.
A sharp pain shot through his chest, causing his hands to quickly clamp down on it while he let out a silent groan. He was unaware that some elders observed this behavior and muttered to themselves.
“I hope all is well with you, Alpha.”The First Elder, who was in charge of civil affairs, asked, causing the arguing to stop and diverting their attention to Alpha Damian, who had been relieved of the recurring sharp pain.
“And why are you asking me? If I was sick, I would have called the Royal Doctor.” Alpha Damian responded coldly, knowing the elders’ and ministers’ intentions. He is also aware of those who have good and bad intentions, so he must exercise extreme caution.
Shaken, the elder from Civil felt compelled to quickly close his mouth, mentally cursing him. “Let us wait and see, you will undoubtedly come running beneath my wings.” He thought with a visible smirk, which Alpha Damian noticed.
“This meeting is dismissed, and anyone who has any opinion contrary to what we have been saying since, please signify.” Beta Frank spoke quickly to adjourn the meeting.
The Silence gave him the answer he sought, and he acted by adjourning the meeting. Alpha Damian was on his way out of the meeting room when two guards approached him.
“We are sorry, Alpha. A rogue has been brought into the palace, but she is in prison as your mother ordered.” The first guard bowed, terrified; an order had been passed to them since he ascended the throne that any rogue should be killed on sight.
Alpha Damian looked at them coldly and walked away without responding, which surprised them. The behavior was quite unusual for their cold-hearted Alpha.
