OLIVIA
“You must be excited about this, aren’t you?” Kate teased me.
“Am I?” I blushed and smoothened my skirt as though it were rumpled. I was acting like a child without actually knowing it.
“Yes, you’re.
That’s not bad If you ask me. I haven’t seen you this excited before. If going out on a date with Adrian would restore your happiness, then I won’t judge you,” Kate told me. That was the best thing I’ve heard in a long time.
“Thank you so much for everything,” I rushed to hug Kate. I couldn’t hide my excitement.
Adrian may call it a dinner, but I don’t see it that way. He wants to have a proper date with me. Calling it a dinner was the only way he could convince me to show up and it worked. I wouldn’t have been comfortable dressing up to go have a date in another man’s house while I got a man for myself.
“Enough of the emotional talks. We got a date to plan,” Kate said excitedly as she opened my wardrobe searching for the perfect outfit for the night.
“Dinner, Kate.
It’s not a date,” I quickly corrected Kate.
“If you insist.
You and I know it’s not going to be just dinner.” Kate smirked.
I didn’t respond because I knew she was right. It was the same thing that had been parading my mind for a while.
I do not care if Adrian lied just to have me come over. I am thrilled that we still have some real men like Adrian who would go to extra lengths to demonstrate their love.
I can’t recall the last time Cyril took me to a fancy restaurant, let alone a picnic. He would rather spend quality time with Rene than me.
Oftentimes, I wonder how she was able to enchant him to fall for her. She wasn’t better than me in all ramifications. I bet they would pick me over her if we were to step out for a public function.
For whatever reason, Cyril decided to go out with Rene; I hope it remains that way. I don’t even wish for him to return home. I found happiness in Adrian and there’s no stopping now.
“Yes, I finally found one,” Kate snapped her fingers as she brought out an outfit for the dinner.
“What’s this?” I asked her. I wasn’t impressed with her selection. I wanted something sexier.
“I don’t understand you. Wasn’t this the red gown you were about to wear to receive Adrian in the living room? What changed?” Kate inquired. She was surprised at my sudden change of decision.
A while ago, I was clamoring to wear the outfit as though my life depended on it. Suddenly, I changed my mind. If I were Kate, I would be worried.
“I want a body-revealing outfit. Something that can make a man kill for my body. You should know what I’m talking about?” I told Kate with a bit of seriousness.
“Body revealing outfit?” Kate exclaimed in utmost confusion. Her eye socket nearly pulled out.
“Yes, you got a problem with that?” I flaunted my auburn hair and paraded my room like a runway model.
I have already mastered my seductive catwalk. This was probably the last time I’d set my eyes on Adrian before going for a much-awaited vacation in Singapore. I wanted to make the best of this moment that would forever be remembered.
“Fine! You can wear it,” Kate finally concurred.
I chuckled. “Can I wear it? The last time I checked, the outfit was mine. You don’t get to decide what I wear.”
I quickly rushed to take a bath despite having done that before. I was sweaty. I needed to appear so fly for Adrian. This wasn’t a business meeting where I needed to adhere to some certain dress code.
I also ensured I had a thorough mouthwash should Adrian attempt to kiss me, which, of course, I couldn’t resist.
It would be embarrassing to have a breath that smells like rotten mashed potatoes. Adrian would never want to have anything to do with it anymore.
Kate sat down on the bed watching me behave like a kid. Her smile spread across her ear region. She hadn’t seen me this excited before.
“How do I look?” I stood in front of the mirror admiring my beauty. Unlike the previous time, when I wore no makeup, I ensured it was different this time.
I am pretty certain that Cyril might fall for me again and drop his bad habit when he sees me like this.
“Stunning!
I’m already falling for you. I imagined the nasty things Adrian would do to you when he sees you like this,” Kate joked. Her flattering words were just what I needed.
“Thank You!
You sure know the right words to say,” I smiled back at Kate and grabbed my car keys, ready to step out.
“You’re free to go home now. I will keep you updated about the dinner. I won’t want Cyril to come find you here. He might unleash his anger on you if he doesn’t find me around,” I told Kate.
She’s been with me since I collapsed. I enjoyed every bit of her company, but It was time for her to leave.
I ensured Kate was gone before stepping outside to the garage. I glanced at the fleet of expensive cars and was wondering which to use.
I don’t intend to oppress Adrian with my wealth, and at the same time, I would rather not appear too common. I want my presence to be felt.
Like a princess, I stepped inside and drove out of the mansion in my Lamborghini Aventador. A few miles away from the main estate gate, I spotted a car that looked like Cyril’s approaching my direction.
“Oh, my Goodness.
What do I do now?” I panicked. How do I explain to Cyril that I’m going on a date with a man who was supposed to be a client?
All hell would let loose.
I foresee a third world war coming.
