Kira blinked, taken aback by his response. She had not expected such a response, such a cold reply from him. It sent chill running through her body the way he responded and looked at her while responding.
“Alright, two can play this game,” she said in her mind and thought quickly of what to do next.
When she finally got an idea, she softened her expression and spoke in a very gentle and sweet tone. “Please?” She murmured, her voice adorable and sweet. “I-I won’t run,” she stuttered, making it seem like she was very terrified. “I couldn’t even if I tried. I know you would stop being nice to me if I did, and I like when you are nice to me and when you don’t hurt me or get upset.”
Kira then winced for more effect, glancing down sadly at the ropes. “It’s just… my hands really hurt, and my legs too. I know I can be stubborn, but I would really feel better if you could take things slow with me as I am still in shock. Maybe make me understand what’s happening.”
“And…” She continued, sighing sadly, “And I don’t think this is how someone treats their sweet, right? But it’s okay, I will just stay like this.”
Dave paused for a moment, watching her. He was not sure if he could trust her, but her words seemed to touch something in him.
“Maybe I could?” He thought to himself, his intense gaze softening a bit. “Alright, alright, I will untie you. Don’t sulk,” he muttered.
“Really?” Kira asked, acting surprised and very pleased as she forced herself to blush and nod quickly, “Thank you, you are sweeter than I thought.”
Dave chuckled softly at her compliment as he began to untie her.
As the ropes came loose, Kira rubbed her wrists and neck, then rubbed her legs too. She glanced up at Dave, who was smiling and watching her.
She had to force a small smile, as she looked around the room and said to him, “I was too busy being angry and didn’t even notice how beautiful this room is. You own this place?”
“Yes,” he nodded proudly, “And not to worry, I have enough to take good care of you too.”
“I am sure you do,” she smiled more, still looking around, her gaze more fixed on the door.
When she had gotten everything she needed, she turned back to him and her smile increased. She had seen her chance.
Without hesitation, Kira swung her fist with all her strength, landing a punch square on Dave’s nose, just as Ryker had taught her.
Dave’s head snapped back, and she followed up with another blow to his chest, causing him to move back and hold his chest as he did not expect a second hit.
Immediately she landed her last blow, she quickly pushed herself up off the bed and ran to the door.
But Dave recovered faster than she had calculated. She heard him growl angrily as she grabbed the door knob and opened it. As soon as she opened it, a hand closed it hard. Dave’s hand, and then he caught her around the waist, pulling her back.
Kira thrashed and fought, her heart pounding because this was not something she was supposed to be unsuccessful in. She had no idea what he was thinking or what would happen to her, and she did not even want to know or find out either of the two.
“Why would you betray MY TRUST?” He yelled at her angrily as his nose bled from the impact of her punch. “WHY?” He asked again, and slammed her down onto the mattress.
Kira’s heart pounded hard, but she still tried everything to escape, and it only got him more furious. When he raised his hand up, his expression dark, she noticed what was coming next and immediately squeezed her eyes shut, bracing herself.
But instead of hitting her, his fist struck the headboard beside her hard, making the wood crack. “You keep pushing me,” he leaned in close as she flinched. “You… I trusted you,” he hissed. “Next time, I won’t be so kind. You better make sure there is no next time. If you try this again, my sweet, I will whip you until you break. I will.”
Kira felt so much anger in her and glared at him with so much detest before she spoke, “You will never get that opportunity, never.”
She mouthed the last ‘never’ to him before chuckling, despite her pounding heart.
Dave simply ignored her, and got the ropes to tie her up like before. This time he made it tighter than ever with no mercy as a punishment.
Kira winced, but still glared at him with shaky breaths. “You will regret ever doing this to me,” she threatened him despite the fear she felt, and this time she also noticed it was not fear of him but fear of not being found. Yes, she was terrified, but what terrified her the most was not having hope of being saved or saving herself.
She was beginning to wish that somehow Bryan and Aiden would have noticed something was wrong and look for her, or even anyone in the pack.
As Dave finished tying the knots, he sat down on the bed beside her, the silence between them, thick.
Without breaking eye contact, he raised his fingers to his nose, smiling as he felt the blood. “You do have a strong punch my sweet,” he complimented.
Afterward, he used his fingers to rub some blood off and stared at it, a strange smile starting to play on his lips.
Kira just watched him quietly, and before she knew it, he brought the same fingers to his lips and licked the blood off slowly, never taking his gaze away from hers.
At that moment, Kira felt an irritation that she has never felt before. The way he did it, how he did, everything was just so eughhh. She did not even try to hide her reaction.
Dave, who was enjoying her reaction, her discomfort, laughed and finally wiped the remaining blood from his nose with the back of his hand, smearing it across his skin.
“You should get some sleep, even though you are not comfortable,” he told her as he leaned a little closer to her, while Kira tried to move away, hoping that the walls could swallow her up.
“We will be leaving soon,” he said before getting up and turning to leave.
“Leaving?” Kira thought. “What does he mean by leaving?”
Immediately, she asked him before he could leave the room.
“What do you mean, leaving?”
Dave just smiled at her, stepped out of the room and closed the door behind him, locking it from the outside.
