Alpha Blade;
My tongue goes deeper into Leona’s mouth, my right palm holds her back, pushing her body against mine.
I was expecting her to resist me, but she wasn’t. She had always resisted me whenever I wanted to kiss her or do something sexually with her. So what’s happening? Why was she letting me do this with her?
I feel her hands grip my shirt tightly as her lips return my kiss. Passionately. I pause, trying to pull away from her. At first, I didn’t want to kiss her deeply, that wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to place my lips on hers, just to feel her lips. I thought she would resist me, the way she’d always done.
But here we are, our lips bonded together. Leona was even returning my kiss. She tugs me closer to her as I try to pull away from her. And she continues kissing me with her eyes shut.
“Alright, Leona,” I utter in her mouth, “Let’s stop here,” I break off the kiss. The both of us breathe harder, staring at ourselves. “Why did you let me kiss you? I expected you to pull away like you always do.”
“You wanted to kiss me, and you did. So why not take responsibility for it? Or are you not happy you’ve finally gotten what you’ve been craving over years to have?” She moves closer to me.
My feet draw backward a bit. Leona was acting strange and it made me feel a little creepy. This wasn’t her. The fact she knew some stuff about Elara and Nova made things more complicated. Did another soul switch into her?
You know anything is just damn possible.
“I’m happy I did. Who wouldn’t be? But I’m also sorry I kissed you.” What am I saying? Why wasn’t I happy that I’d finally kissed Leona, the only woman I’ve ever been in love with? I sure do want it to happen all these years, so why? Why wasn’t I feeling the excitement?
Rather, I wished it was Elara I kissed. What was truly wrong with me?
“You don’t look happy. I was expecting a better reaction from you. Do you still love me or you’re in love with someone else?” Her feet move closer to me.
“Will my answer change the situation? You’ve never loved me, Leona. The only man you’ve ever wanted is Alpha Arthur.”
“What if I want you now?” Her hand goes to the zip of her black dress, and she undoes it. “What if I want to give everything to you? My heart, my love, my body. All of me. Would you say no?” I watch as her finger slowly pushes her dress from her shoulder region.
“What are you doing, Leona?” My forehead creases in confusion. Is she trying to strip before me and make me have her pussy? What is she doing?
“I want to give you every part of me,” her voice, soft and calm like the still waters. She truly wants me to have her. But I can’t. I don’t have the urge to.
Holding her arms, I pull her closer to my chest. Her body rested against mine. Reaching for her zip, and helping her lock it, “I can’t be with you now, Leona. I just finished fucking Jasmine. I’m in no mood to have sex again.”
“So you now prefer your whore over me?”
“Stop it, Leona. Jasmine is no whore. She’s the only woman that has been with me through thick and thin. She’s the mother of my pup.”
“But she can’t be your Luna,” Leona finally pulls herself away from me. Arranging the neck of her dress, “Does she know?”
“What?”
“That you can’t make her Luna. You will never make her your Luna no matter what she has been through with you,” Leona whiffs maliciously, her eyes locked with mine.
My throat drags and I swallow hard. How did Leona know too much? What is she? “The last I checked, you’ve never cared about Jasmine. She is my problem to worry about.”
“You are running away from the questions. You can’t even say it to Jasmine that she will never be your Luna. Coward!” Leona pronounces and I grunt through my teeth, my claws bare forth.
“How dare you call me a coward? How. Dare. You?” My jaw tightens in anger.
She giggles hard, “Save it, Alpha Blade. You know nothing can be done to me. You won’t dare take your rage out on me. You are a smart Alpha and you know what’s at stack. See you around,” she wiggles her fingers at my face before walking away.
I roar in anger, punching my wall with my fist. Creating a whole on the wall. I wish that was Leona’s face. It will help put her in her place. No woman dares call me a Coward. Not even my mother. How dare Leona?
She feels she’s untouchable because of her father’s connection with the Lycans. She knows my pack will get invaded, my people attacked, if I dare lay a finger on her. Leona knows my weakness; I will never let any harm befall my pack.
That, she’s using against me. But she still won’t get away with it. I will have her kneel before me and bite her tongue hard for calling me a coward.
“Ryder,” I roar in anger.
Ryder storms into my room. “Alpha,” his head bows.
“Send some men after Leona. They should put an eye on her. Find out everything there is to her. But order them to be careful. I don’t know what she is, but whatever she is needs to be investigated. She knows too much about everyone.”
“Ok, Alpha,” Ryder responds, staring at me.
“What is it, Ryder? Speak.”
“The council of elders requests your presence. They’re already seated in the chamber, waiting for you.”
“Why didn’t nobody inform me about it?” Those old fools are gathered once again. What do they even want this time? They also want to spoil my day.
“Forgive me Alpha for not informing you at the right time. Leona was around and I felt you would have my head on a stake if I interfered.”
“Tell the Elders I will join them in five minutes.”
Ryder bows his head, and leaves.
I reach for a new outfit, and change into something more befitting for a meeting. There are clothes I can’t wear as an Alpha to a meeting, even though I love them. These clothes can only be worn indoors or when I’m in a different pack for vacation.
Five minutes on the dot, I join the old men to begin the meeting.
“Alpha Blade,” the leader of the council of Elders, bows his head after I’ve settled into my throne. “We noticed you left the throne vacant, and traveled down to the NightShade pack with Beta Bronson. This is strictly against the law, and as the Alpha of the pack, you know this better than anymore.”
Finally, the topic I’d been avoiding since I and Bronson returned to my pack, was right before me. I knew these old men would speak up about it, but I was hoping for them not to.
“Something very important came up in the NightShade Pack. I didn’t leave the throne vacant. It was in the care of Ryder,” I responded to him.
But that wasn’t the response they expected.
Murmuring fills the air.
“Alpha,” the elder on the last roll clears his throat, “We know you are the Alpha and the one in charge. We can’t lay out your responsibility before you. But we are pleading that you consider us your loyal servants before making a decision. No pack member feels safe without their Alpha.”
Tapping my finger on the handrest of my throne, “I know. I promise this will be the last time.”
“Thank you, Alpha Blade. You are wise, just like your fatter. Let’s move to the important matter of the day,” the leader of the council of elders comments.
It takes everything within me not to scream out. So this isn’t the reason for the meeting. But I can’t.
My lips drag to the side, I can tell the forced smile that’s plastered on my face is evident. I just want to walk away from this meeting. This should fucking end soon. This is the part of being an Alpha that I hate so much; meetings. “What next do you want to speak of?” I asked. My voice filled with authority.
“Ahem!” The leader clears his throat before he proceeds with his speech. “It’s time for you to carry out the ritual of cleansing the land. It’s time for you to choose a princess as your Luna. It’s time for you to bear an heir for the pack. We need to be sure that the throne is safe.”
Ritual? Why do they want me to carry out such a diabolic act? I never killed that young girl. I didn’t even know what happened that night. Hmmm!…. It’s truly time for me to face the truth and my responsibility. I can’t keep running away from it all.
Nodding my head in agreement, I see the surprise on their faces. They never expected me to be in agreement with them. “I truly need a Luna. How do we go about the ritual of cleansing the land?”
“A virgin or a she-wolf from a different pack is needed. She will be slaughtered, and her blood will be used in cleansing the lady.”
My fingers grip my throne handrest. Why must it be the blood of another she-wolf? Must they kill to cleanse the land? I think I will have to handle things my way. Use the right person for the ritual. The true culprit, not an innocent she-wolf.
It’s time for me to find out the truth about that night.
Who killed that young Luna, and why?
