Chapter 416: The Consequences of Betrayal

“In my eyes, I can’t tolerate any deceit,” Nelson said with interest. “I’ve told you many times.”
A charming yet malicious smile bloomed on his face. “Why are you looking at me like that? I didn’t do anything to him, just sent him to Ylosea to start from scratch.”
Jett was innocently implicated, and Callie’s throat tightened.
“Enough!” Callie abruptly interrupted. “You… you’re too cold-blooded…”
Nelson’s eyes were cold. “What are you saying? It was you who was unfaithful to me first.”
“But you were the one who doubted and tested me, even betrayed me first,” Callie almost blurted out.
She held back.
With Nelson, there was a unique set of rules. He could be deeply scheming towards others but wouldn’t tolerate any tactics against him.
Callie swallowed her anger. “What do you want to say?”
Nelson placed his hands behind his back and leaned close to her ear, speaking mercilessly, “If you’re not confident, don’t do it. Otherwise, if I find out, you should know better than anyone what the consequences will be.”
He had already said it yesterday-the consequences of betraying him.
Callie, furious, pushed him away and glared at him with resentment.
The man remained indifferent and turned away calmly.
Gentle words were just a facade; when it came to his bottom line, his true nature showed its claws.
Callie, still shaken, hurriedly opened her phone and carefully checked her chat with Jaquan. There was nothing incriminating.
But Nelson was a suspicious person and often guessed correctly. Her intense reaction had already betrayed her.
He habitually nipped all potential threats in the bud.
Nelson’s ruthless tactic left no room for advantage.
She seemed to forget that Nelson had pushed aside his work to pick her up last night, only to be used in the end. Anyone would find that intolerable.

The lights were off, and the man sat in the dark, surrounded by a cold and hard atmosphere.
After a long time, he spoke faintly, “Kieran, have I not treated her well?”
Kieran broke out in a cold sweat. He knew exactly what Nelson was referring to.
“… You’ve treated her very well. It’s she who has gone too far.”
Nelson remained silent.
There was a complete silence.
Just when Kieran thought there would be no response, there was a light tapping on the table. “Go find out whose name that studio is under.”
“You mean…”
“Find out whose people they are. Daring to take pictures of me and use them for blackmail…”
And because of this incident, he had heard some unpleasant remarks. No matter what, those people shouldn’t survive in this industry anymore.
Due to the outbreak of the trade war, the domestic situation was becoming increasingly severe. Various industries were filled with fear for the future, and many companies had already started laying off employees.
Especially in the financial sector.
Layoffs inevitably hurt many people and even entire families, making it a difficult topic to broach. The Oconnor Group was relatively humane, sending specialized mediators for one-on-one discussions and providing compensation.
Nelson had been making more public appearances recently. To avoid causing panic, he selectively accepted some newspaper interviews-face-to-face interviews that allowed recording but no photographs.
Nelson was famously known in the circle. Everyone knew that the Oconnor Group’s executor managed the group with an iron fist and kept everything in perfect order. More importantly, those who had met him all said he was very handsome.
Because of this factor, media outlets sent male employees for interviews to avoid female employees getting emotionally involved.
