She clenched her teeth tightly as the rope kept falling.
Blanca was dangling, the bloody hole below her shoulder was hideous and gruesome, blood stained all over her, the violent shaking tugged at her nerves and pained her out of her stupor.
The loud clatter of gears was in her ears.
She lowered her head, and by the faint light coming from above, she saw that her foot had reached the edge of the gears.
“…”
Blanca, surprised, scrunched up her feet with all her strength, only to rip her wounds and cause even more excruciating pain.
She was so happy that she thought she had recovered her own daughter for Beinice, but she didn’t realize that she was recovering a demon that was destroying the Folsom family.
Which of these years had she ever done the right thing?
She deserved to end up like this.
If she had known that she would end up like this, Marian wondered if it would have hurt her more.
Thinking this way, Blanca suddenly felt little need to struggle, she looked down at the gears beneath her feet and slowly lowered her legs.
“Blanca!” a cool voice suddenly came from above her.
Blanca’s heart shook hard and she looked up incredulously, just as a thin light pierced her eyes.
She didn’t dare to close her eyes, afraid that she was hallucinating, afraid that everything was a dream she was having, and she stared at the light with dead eyes.
The light deflected and she was met with Paige, who was above her clutching a rope in one hand.
“What are you doing down here?”
Blanca stared at her in shock, shuddering to think how she’d gotten here, a breath of blood rushing up her throat and filling her mouth, “You get back! Go back!”
Blanca practically shouted at the top of her lungs, her pupils clenching and her bound and hanging hands both beginning to struggle.
Paige watched the distance between Blanca’s feet and the gears and suddenly flipped over, wrapping her legs around the thick rope and hanging her whole body upside down, gradually approaching her.
Blanca nearly fainted from the shock of Paige’s sharp maneuver.
She finally realized that Paige was trying to save her.
“…”
Blanca watched Paige getting closer and closer to her, the blood in her whole body was flowing backwards, and she hissed out with all her strength, “Paige! I didn’t want you back then, I don’t like children at all, and I find them especially loud and annoying, and they only interfere with my work! So when you were lost, I treated you as if you were dead! I didn’t look for you for a day! You were less meaningful to me than selling a few weapons!”
She cried out desperately, the man swaying with the rope.
Paige was hanging upside down from the rope, still sliding down, with no sign of returning.
Seeing this, Blanca’s eyes reddened and she cried, “You go back up! You get up there! I beg you!”
Blanca’s vision blurred as she looked at her, and for a moment her voice was mournful to the core and humble, “I’m begging you, Marian! You go up!”
She can’t be anything.
Why did she have to come up here when she’d already had such a good life!
The next second, her arm was grabbed.
Paige tightened her grip on Blanca’s arm with one hand, her eyes, which had been clear, were gradually covered in red blood from hanging upside down, she looked at Blanca coldly, “Keep your legs, you’re going to take me down with you now that you’re dead.”
Blanca looked at her, her lips trembling terribly, “Marian…”
“I don’t want dead man’s guilt.” Paige said coldly.
“…”
Blanca gritted her blood-stained teeth and lifted her feet as hard as she could to keep from being swallowed by the gears.
Paige clutched her arm against the uncomfortable feeling of hanging upside down, then tilted her head a little to look up at the two rooms above that were sinking rapidly, and took a deep breath to shout, “Enrico!”
He’d come out instead.
Still can’t read her mind?
“Bang-”
A gunshot rang out.
A wall of mirrors was broken, and countless shattered mirrors crashed down like streaks of stars, reflecting the tragedy of lives hanging in the balance below.
With her eyes wide open, Paige watched as Enrico leapt and flew from the inside with the rope she had dropped earlier clutched in one hand.
The rope dangled down and swung around her.
Paige grabbed the rope with one free hand and the man hung upside down and tied several loops around both of Blanca’s arms before pulling the dagger from her own waist and going to cut the restraints on her original wrists.
Blanca looked at the way she handled it calmly, but instead of the elation of being rescued, she only felt fear.
How dare she …
The moment the restraints were cut, the room above crashed down.
Paige dodged the attack by flipping over and swinging to the side with Blanca in her arms.
She looked down, only to see the room fall into the massive gears, wood or mirror wall, twisted to pieces in a moment.
“Paige!”
Brangelina tied a rope around herself and the dying Jasper and swung in mid-air, dodging the small mechanism next to her while looking down at Paige in shock.
She had actually saved Blanca.
Holding Blanca in her arms, Paige wrapped one hand around the rope and climbed up a bit with all her strength.
A little more climbing would get her farther away from the gears that were down.
“Your hand …”
Blanca looked over at her, Paige’s sleeve had long since worn out from the whole event, and her hand to arm was covered in scrapes and blood.
“It won’t die.”
Paige said through gritted teeth, continued to hold her to climb up, up some, then use the extra rope section to tie some more on her body, and himself, all by hand grip.
In this way, Blanca did not dare to move, can only stiffen the body does not move, let her hold herself.
Suddenly, Paige felt some relief in her hands.
She looked up and saw Enrico with one foot on the room next to her that hadn’t fallen yet, pulling the two of them upwards.
By the time a little bit had climbed above, Paige had nearly exhausted herself and was nearly soaked to the skin.
“Get up here!”
Enrico lowered himself to the ground and clutched Paige’s bloodied and abraded hand to pull her up, stopping her in mid-air.
Paige raised her eyes and met Enrico’s eyes so hard they were killing.
With an iron face, he glared at her, words that could be bitten out in blood, “Just you wait, you’ll see how I’ll go back and clean you up!”
She was really bold, she dared to do anything that would kill her.
But if he had just broken through the wall of mirrors, and one of those pieces had scratched her, injuring an artery could kill her.
By this point, Paige didn’t feel anything and breathed a slow sigh of relief, “It’s not nothing, is it?”
“You call this fine?” Enrico glared down at the blood on her hands, wanting to eat her alive.
He should have never listened to her, it was safest to keep her locked up at home.
“…”
Paige stopped talking, glancing down at Blanca hanging below them and to the side of the room where she hadn’t fallen yet.
From the large gaping hole, she could see Rachel shivering against the shattered mirror wall, one eye looking at them with spite, the spite of hate in her bones, her whole face twisted.
The room was shaking so much it was about to fall.
“Rachel, letting you down.” Paige watched her and sneered with some contempt.
Rachel wanted everyone connected to her dead, and she favored them all alive.
