“How would I know what’s going on?”
“When I bought this villa, I was worried about the Tri-Alliance jeopardizing your safety, so I had Nathan install a security alarm system in this villa and connected it to my residence.”
“Besides that, he has no other contact with you!”
Flynn was equally baffled, shrugging his shoulders to express his confusion.
“Has he been to Thodell Mansion?” Rose suddenly remembered something, frowning slightly.
Flynn glanced at her, “Isn’t that obvious? If Nathan didn’t go there, how could he connect it to your place?”
“The alarm is in my bedroom; I know immediately if something happens here.”
“I thought we were completely safe, not expecting Braiden and Maximo to dare kidnap you during broad daylight.”
“And that in a busy district, with Molly right beside you.”
After saying this, Flynn gave Molly a look, his gaze turning resentful.
On the day Maximo’s men caused trouble in South Mountain, Flynn had already taken Molly through the Dragon’s Spine.
At that time, she was only a paper-thin distance from becoming a Grandmaster.
If Molly had practiced The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade and used the Aetherium Dust as he instructed, she could have advanced to Grandmaster that very day.
Facing those kidnappers, she would have definitely had the capability to fight.
Now, here he was, risking his life under a barrage of bullets to save Rose and Scarlet, and Molly had lost that piece of paper.
Incredibly frustrating.
Molly, naturally understanding Flynn’s look, rubbed her forehead, at a loss for words.
Ultimately, the incident yesterday boiled down to her lack of trust in Flynn.
If she had just tried to practice the techniques on that paper, to take the medicine.
She would have realized the uniqueness of The Eighteen Forms of the Celestial Blade and the Aetherium Dust.
Sadly, Molly had not done so.
Moreover, what was most annoying was that she had come to believe in Flynn’s abilities yesterday, yet she still lost that paper, and now she had no idea where it might be.
She figured it was most likely lost in Northview.
Given the fierce battle there, with constant flipping and dodging, anything in her pockets could have fallen out.
She had searched thoroughly behind the small building, but found nothing.
It seemed the chances of finding it were slim.
Now, she could only lower her head and ask Flynn for help.
Just as Molly was about to speak, Rose suddenly asked, “Do you remember the day Nathan installed the security system?”
Though she was shocked to learn of Flynn’s connection with Nathan, considering this guy was even friends with the God of War, Flynn having a connection to the Fletcher family didn’t seem so strange anymore.
“The day we went to Braiden Manor, I brought you the keys the next day,” Flynn recalled with certainty.
“Huh? The day I went to the Crimson Star Hotel to find you?” Rose’s eyes lit up.
Flynn looked puzzled, “Yes, what about it?”
“I think I know what happened,” Rose shook her head with a rueful smile. “That day, when I was waiting for you to come down at the Crimson Star Hotel, I had a chat with Madeline.”
“She thanked me for bringing a contract to the Kaur family.”
“Right, the contract from Marcel Hill.”
“I was clueless about that contract, said it wasn’t my doing.”
“I was going to tell Madeline that it might have been your help.”
“But considering the deep rift between you two, I thought it best to let her see for herself.”
“So I told her the person helping her lived at Thodell Mansion, even mentioned that you liked her, advising her to seize the opportunity.”
“From what’s happening now, the person Madeline saw that day must have been Nathan.”
Hearing this, Flynn resignedly said, “I had only just reached the foot of Plenilune Mountain that day when Nathan descended.”
“It’s probably just as you said, Madeline thought Nathan was living at Thodell Mansion, mistaking him for the person who had been helping the Kaur family.”
“I became Nathan’s subordinate…” Flynn said with a wry smile, unable to help shaking his head.
No wonder Madeline always described him as a scapegoat. The issue was clear now.
“And where did you see that I was interested in her?”
“I’m helping the Kaur family entirely because of Uncle Matteo,” Flynn retorted with a roll of his eyes, clearly annoyed.
Rose gave an awkward laugh, “I didn’t really understand your personal matters back then, I thought you liked her.”
Flynn sighed, unwilling to say more.
Rose was just trying to ease the tension between him and Madeline. She couldn’t be blamed for that.
Listening to their conversation, Scarlet was dumbfounded, blinking rapidly.
Was Nathan the person Madeline was grateful to?
What a joke!
No wonder her opinion of Flynn hadn’t changed since that day. She had come to regard Nathan as her benefactor.
And Flynn was just one of Nathan’s servants…
That’s right!
When Madeline celebrated her new home, she had said, “I will do even better, become a business queen, and find an even better man, like Nathan.”
No way!
Did Madeline think Nathan liked her, and that’s why she divorced Flynn?
Oh my!
Speechless!
Completely speechless!
“Will Nathan also attend the banquet the day after tomorrow?” Scarlet asked.
“Kendal Roy has big ambitions, thinking a banquet can resolve the disputes,” Rose replied with a disdainful sneer.
“Since Kendal Roy thinks Nathan is my support, she will naturally invite him.”
Scarlet nodded and continued, “Does Ms. Sharp really intend to negotiate?”
“What do you think?” Rose smiled faintly, countering the question.
“You have so much capital now, you probably don’t need peace,” noted Scarlet.
“Exactly! Now that I hold the initiative, my goal is not just to defend myself, nor to tear a piece off the other party.”
“It’s to completely absorb Hussain’s Pharmaceutical’s Dragon Gate Group and the Woods family’s assets!”
“And the Swanson family, even if they back out, they won’t escape alive!”
Layla stood tall, confident and dignified, her gaze firm and profound, her words exuding an aura of dominance.
Like a queen holding a scepter, her presence was charged with a fierce intent to conquer.
Deeply impressed, Scarlet asked, “What if Lilia provokes us at the banquet?”
She believed that Layla had her reasons for agreeing to attend the banquet.
Whether it was confrontation or negotiation, she surely intended to maximize her side’s benefits.
Naturally, Rose wouldn’t agree to compromise.
Conflict was inevitable.
“Provoke?” Rose chuckled lightly, her tone cold yet resolute. “Then we draw the sword!”
“That sword is Flynn!”
After saying this, she turned to Flynn and smiled, “Mr. Clark, after lying low for so long, it’s time for your dragon’s roar, isn’t it?”
Flynn shrugged nonchalantly, “Sword or no sword, I’m mainly interested in the banquet’s buffet. But since Ms. Sharp has spoken, I shall respectfully comply.”
Hearing this, Scarlet was instantly thrilled, her body covered in goosebumps.
This was gearing up for a showdown!
Thinking that the drama was about to start, Molly thought to herself:
“After this sword, the Sharp family will have no worries. Gentlemen, listen to this dragon’s roar!”
The day after tomorrow, Flynn was destined to make a spectacular impact!
And Madeline would regret the divorce for the rest of her life!
