“No, baby. He’s not your daddy” Aurora responded, cleaning her tears. When she turned to glance at Patrick, their eyes locked and she saw that Patrick had a lot of questions written all over his face.
Aurora nodded and said “Yes” and then closed her eyes. She knows what he wanted to ask her. So Why not give an answer to him before asking.
Patrick’s eyes welled up and he turned towards Elsie and smiled broadly at her “Come honey” he said and when Elsie did, he squatted and hugged her warmly.
She’s like her great grandma. He’d known Adrian since childhood, he knows virtually everyone in his family and his grandmother wasn’t an exception.
The blond, the grey eyes, the pinkish lips were exactly like Grandma’s. He held the little girl and kissed her temple. Did Adrian know he has a daughter?
How can he know when he doesn’t know that Ava was still alive. When he raised himself to full height his eyes had gone reddened and he said “You’re alive Ava?” He asked again as if he was just seeing her.
Aurora nodded with clouded eyes. One of the people who truly loved her was Patrick Connor. But she needs to let him know that Adrian must not know a thing about her.
“Now, can we go to the business of the day?” Santiago asked and looked from Aurora to her friend and they both glanced at each other and chuckled.
As much as his sister felt emotional when she saw this dude, he is still not Else’s father. When will they know about his niece’s father?
“Oh, that?” Aurora asked. There is no use for that. She would do all she could, for Patrick Connor and it’s time to appreciate him for what he’d done for her family.
Few minutes later, Patrick was walking out of the Blake’s business world with Aurora and carrying Elsie. The feeling of love that flowed from him to the little girl was because she’s Adrian and Ava’s daughter.
So many questions he wants to ask. As they went out, four bodyguards were behind them and two were walking ahead of them out of the building to the parking lot. As they got there, the chauffeur bowed slightly and Ava slipped in and he got in after her.
“You’ll drop us off at the guest palace and you’ll go pick my guests from the airport and take them home. I’ll meet them there” Aurora instructed.
“Alright ma’am” The chauffeur replied and the chauffeur took off. Patrick Connor was still surprised by all he was seeing. How did she end up being part of this aristocrat family of the X-city?
Even if he didn’t get the offer from Blake’s business world, his encounter that day was enough to gladden his heart. He wouldn’t let Elsie off his thighs, how he had suddenly loved this girl seamlessly.
But how were they both still able to make love to each other despite the toxic relationship they shared? This couple is so unpredictable. And to know that he could still treat her this way.
“Adrian Lester must not know anything about Aurora, Patrick. Ava Leon is dead, to him and to everyone who hurt and humiliated her. Now, Aurora has been born in her place. My name is Aurora. Let things remain the way it is in New Jersey” Aurora informed.
“If that’s what you want, I’ll keep it safe” Patrick assured. They arrived at the guest palace and Aurora went in alongside with Patrick.
As the name implies, do us the place. It’s a little cubicle, well furnished, attached to a magnificent mansion but separated by flower walls.
Exquisite sofa, a wine cell at an end, a TV stand and a little bar, all confined within a small space. The guest palace can only take three people conveniently but was well decorated and furnished.
Aurora motioned to Patrick to have a seat, and she poured him a glass of wine. They both drank and one of the bodyguards took Elsie aside.
“You know I need you to explain things to me, Aurora. How did you end up here as Blake? How did you leave the prison despite the fire outbreak?” Patrick asked, settling down on the sofa Aurora offered him.
“I didn’t know anything about the fire outbreak until weeks later when my momma told me. I was simply invited out of my cell room and whisked away by men assigned to do it.
You know I was adopted by my parents Sam and Clara Leon. But the truth was that I was mixed up to be someone else’s baby….”Aurora told him everything.
“I’m happy for you, Aurora,”Patrick Connor chimed. How he wishes that he could get to meet his own real parents someday. Not because he wants a wealthy family that would suddenly take him in and give him all the wealth in the world.
But the satisfaction and affection that comes with being with people one shares blood and relationship with. The bond is such that he wants to experience this life.
“Thanks Patrick. And I want to appreciate you for standing by my momma when my Papa died. She told me everything and I do appreciate you” Aurora appreciated.
She wished she’d married Patrick in the past and not Adrian. This man knows how to love a woman and he is kind.
“It’s nothing Ava, oh I mean Aurora. I was simply helping my friend” Patrick replied. His friend, a deserted friend. Their friendship exists only in the past now.
Aurora ignored the latter part of his words. Anything that has to do with Adrian, she doesn’t want to talk about it nor hear anyone call his name around her.
“There’s something else I need to ask, Aurora. Despite the marriage you have with Adrian, as toxic as it was, you still make love?” Patrick asked. He couldn’t hold back.
Adrian said horrible things about his wife back then. She’s not his class, he doesn’t love her, she’s a poor tramp and the likes. How can he still secretly drill his dick into her and get her pregnant?
And he was still cruel to her and left her in prison because he assumed she attempted to murder his grandfather? How can a man do that to a woman he makes love to?
“No, Adrian never knew anything about the first and the only time he made love to me. He was totally drunk and he fucked me under the influence of alcohol. But the reason why I kept the incident away from him was because, in his subconscious mind, he kept moaning Lola’s name.
Then I knew he took my body for hers. He assumed he was with her and even his subconscious mind only knows Lola and not me. So, what’s the use of telling him anything?” Aurora explained.
“Oh! That must be it. It then means, he didn’t know anything about your intimate moments together” Patrick stuttered, nodding his head in deep thoughts.
He knows Adrian too much to overlook that. He’d known a few casual relationships his friend had been into in the past. He cherishes intimate moments and actually dotes on those ladies.
“Yeah, he has no idea about it. And my daughter would never be his. I got to know that I was pregnant the day grandfather Lester was attacked and I went to his rescue. Only for Anna to get me arrested and Adrian was in support of it.
No one in the Lester family knows about it except Alice. She suspects that I was pregnant and we hoped for a confirmation because I told her everything about it. I know she would keep that information a secret from Lester’s” Aurora was certain.
“I’m happy for you, Aurora,” Patrick Connor chimed. This life befits her. She looked splendid and beautiful. He’d always known she’s pretty but now, that prettiness came forth with glow and glamour.
“Thanks Patrick. I’m so happy that we meet again” Aurora chimed. Now that she’s met Patrick, she would be ready to help him however possible she can.
“Aurora, how about Adrian, would you give him a chance again?” Patrick asked. Now, they both are on par with each other. And his obsessed girlfriend is no more, last that he checked, she was jailed along with Sabastian Walker and Nathaniel for attempted murder of grandfather Lester.
“No please. Don’t ever bring up the name of that bastard before me, ever again, Patrick!” Aurora scowled.
She despises him a lot.
