At the moment, he completely forgot about Clara Leon. He had his own bodyguards stand by and ordered Clem to get all Adrian’s bodyguards assembled. If anything happens to his son, they all would be his escorts in death.
Richard tried several times to reach his son, but his contacts were switched off. He called Patrick Connor and the latter said he doesn’t know anything about Adrian. Their friendship ceased to exist when he had Ava Leon locked up in prison.
The entire day, they couldn’t find Adrian. The hotels were searched out, he wasn’t there. No record of him at the airport. No one knows his whereabouts.
The Lester conglomerate seemed to stand still. Richard tried to step in, keep it going and for the next three days, Adrian’s whereabouts was unknown to anyone.
Lola Carrero was contacted but she also claimed not to know his whereabouts. She had stepped aside from him when the news of his wife’s death was broadcasted. She wants him to mourn his wife.
Days have passed and still Adrian could not be reached. Anna Lester sobbed and almost cried her eyes out. Anxiety and fear gripped her, she hoped her son hadn’t done something awful to himself.
She has told her husband “Adrian is innocent. I am to be blamed for all that happened. I wasn’t a proper mother in law to Ava neither did I take pity on her parents.
I was also the one who got Ava arrested. Adrian decided to take the entire blame, thereby shielding me. Please Richard, forgive me and find my son. Anywhere he is, bring him home to me Alive” she uses the word “Alive” distinctly.
He should be found alive and nothing else. Adrian is not allowed to be found anything different from being alive. Not dead, not decayed but alive and healthy.
“Sure, I know. I do know that you are the evil one who planted evilness in the heart of Adrian. If you had been a proper woman and mother in-law to Ava, Adrian wouldn’t have gotten this far.
He might not love Ava, but he definitely wouldn’t go ruthless with her and her family. See how far you have pushed him. You should applaud yourself as a great mother, right?” Richard bellowed.
Now, she is making a confession without being interrogated because Adrian could not be found. Did she now understand the feeling of Sam Leon and his wife when they came begging her for their daughter?
Within those days Adrian was not found, he locked himself up in an underground apartment of his. He would find and avenge the death of Ava on whoever was responsible for grandfather’s attack.
If that never happened, Ava would probably still be alive. She wouldn’t have to be accused of attempted murder, she wouldn’t have to be in that place where she was before the fire outbreak came.
He would find that person and avenge his wife’s death. He didn’t love her then, but now, he accepts her and would love to nurture his feelings for her but it’s too late.
He was working tirelessly and only fed on water for days. But he found a clue. He studied the walking posture of the man in the mask, the height and he could relate it to someone he knows.
He went to the person’s page and got his picture and moments he was walking slowly, briskly and he compared them. He was heading somewhere.
But why grandfather? Why not him? If the fellow he was suspecting is the one, he should have come for him and not grandfather. Or could it be he was coming for him and mistakenly encountered grandfather?
How did he succeed into the highly protected mansion without being seen? Are the bodyguards all asleep? He came in and went out without being seen? How can it be?
Is there a mole among his men? Did any of his employees act as an insider, who helped to execute this plan? Something is wrong somewhere.
He logged into the surveillance camera of that day and patiently watched it, waiting to see what happened but he didn’t see anyone going in or out of the mansion.
And to know that the fellow knows the entrance through the window directly is another thing. It only takes an expert, who knows in and out of the house to do that. Looks like he needs to scrutinise his men once again.
He knows his family would be out, looking everywhere for him. He also knows that everything grandfather said, would be used on him to make him feel guilty for uttering those words to him.
But he must get to the root of this matter and get the facts and evidence he needs before stepping out, otherwise he’s not Adrian Lester or maybe Adrian Richard as the case may be.
“… your words have probably had an effect on him, father. Adrian cannot go away for days without looking back to say hello to his parents. If anything happens to Adrian, I will just die” Anna Lester seethed.
She doesn’t know what father had said to him but he definitely must have used injurious words on him. Now, Adrian is missing and none of them can trace him anywhere.
“You should think of the way to die to leave an intact corpse. I’d advise you to avoid a perforated body, so don’t use a gun. And to make it easier, though it won’t leave an intact corpse, you could choose to walk into the railway and get crushed by a train to reduce the lengthy periods of pain in cases of poison and by hanging” Granddaughter advised and kept his gaze straight up in front of him.
“Father!” Anna Lester exclaimed. He is giving her advice on how to die? This is ridiculous.
“I’m giving you this piece of advice because I want Ava Leon to welcome you when she sees you. The hostile mother in-law she had when she was on this other side of existence. It will sweeten my belly because she’d become your senior in death” grandfather declared and wheeled himself away.
Anna Lester went speechless, a flood of guilt overshadowed her conscience.
