Richard kept making calls “I want the ashes of her remains collected. At least something to show that Ava would be given a befitting burial. Please contact Sam Leon and let’s know what he is thinking.
I have no idea about his daughter’s imprisonment…” Richard paused and suddenly turned to glare at his wife “What?” he said and hung up.
“Sam Leon is dead?” Richard demanded and Anna shrugged. At this point, it’s better she talks less. Nothing is ever going to be the same anymore.
When they got to the hospital Adrian was hurriedly walking into the hospital when Richard asked “Did you know that Sam Leon is dead?”
Adrian paused and shook his head. “Yes dad” he answered. And they all walked into the hospital. The doctor said only one person should see him at a time but Richard said no, they all needed to talk to his father immediately.
When they filed in, grandfather was lying down and his bandaged chest had been treated again. The wound was fast drying up and it seemed that soon, what they would have left was a mere scar.
He glanced at the three of them and asked “Where’s Ava?” He asked wearily. He owes his life to her. If she hadn’t stepped in on time, and the bastard stabbed him a second time, he definitely wouldn’t be able to survive it.
Adrian closed his eyes and didn’t respond to his question. Rather he went to him and said “how do you feel now, grandfather?” He said, his eyes filled with pain and untold weariness.
“I’ll be fine because I’m alive, thanks to Ava, she saved my life. Where is she? Did you go ahead with the divorce with her? Ava saved my life. I will forever be grateful…” grandfather said in a shaky voice.
“It’s okay grandfather. Everything will be fine. And I’m sure Ava will be happy that you’re alive. Just stay strong, and get well fast. There’s a lot I want to hear from you” Adrian coaxed, kissing grandfather Lester’s forehead.
Richard feels suffocated by Adrian’s sudden affection towards his father. Ava is dead and his father asks for her, he said she saved his life and yet, she was arrested and detained until the cold hands of death clenched its fist on her.
“Richard, are you okay?” Old man Lester asked. He saw his son looked like a man whose world was falling apart. Is everything alright? Is he like this because of him?
“I’m happy you’re alive father” Richard stuttered. His father was still in a delicate condition. He cannot tell him the evil that has befallen him.
“I’m alive. I was saved by Adrian’s wife. I owe my life to Ava Leon. Take care of her for me Richard until I’m back on my feet again” old man Lester instructed.
Richard nodded. All that matters now is giving her a befitting burial. As he left the hospital, the news of Clara’s condition got to him.
When he went to see her, he pleaded with the doctor to save her life. He would be responsible for the medical bills and if she needed to be referred to another hospital, he would be ready to foot the bills.
At this time, Adrian had left the hospital. Now, his conscience poke him as if he would bleed. Ava saved grandfather, he didn’t hear the entire story but he knew it’s true.
Ava Leon’s picture was over the Internet, the only victim of the fire outbreak in the prison. Her remains were ashes and would be delivered to her husband whose identity they preferred to be hidden.
Few who knew Sam Leon and his wife felt terribly bad, especially for Clara who lost her husband and an only daughter within the space of two weeks, so pathetic.
Patrick Connor wept like a child. Finally, everything is over. Adrian wants to be free, he has gotten his freedom now. He wants Ava out of the way and he’s gotten it too.
Now, everything has worked out well for him. He should applaud himself for strategizing it well. And then the news of Adrian mourning Ava came to his hearing and that he erected a mourning hall for her, he got furious and went there.
Adrian got the news of the investigation almost at the start of the mourning. The surveillance revealed a masked guy got into the mansion and got into grandfather’s room through his bathroom window.
And because no one uses a camera in the bathroom, his movement was unknown and the palm print couldn’t be identified because the culprit used a glove, his face couldn’t be identified because he wore a mask.
As Adrian watched the clip, he felt as if that physique was familiar. Someone with that body was around him or he has met him before. And the sheath of the dagger left behind couldn’t help at all.
Now, it was indeed evident that Ava didn’t hurt grandfather Lester. The victim confessed to owing his life to her and the investigation so far, reveals that someone did it.
Perhaps she went to save him and pulled the dagger out, and that’s what they saw. She didn’t use a glove and was not careful hence her fingerprints were on it. But on the sheath, no fingerprints were on it at all.
But with the heavy security in the Lester mansion, someone could still get in? Were his men asleep?
This made Adrian Lester feel worse. He summoned the entire employee of the Lester conglomerate to be present at the funeral. He was determined to give her a befitting burial. That was when everyone knew that Adrian Lester had always been a married man.
Lola Carrero came but he went to her and said “Leave. I don’t want you here to avoid fury and murmurings” he said. Many still remember the scandal about him and Lola.
Lola nodded. Adrian Lester felt as if he saw her wearing a happy expression. Whatever, she would have to be patient with him. Ava’s death had to be at least a year before he could announce his engagement with her.
And as it is now, he doesn’t feel like seeing her or talking about relationship with her. Ava died in prison and it’s all his fault.
Richard was present, dressed in black cloak and Anna was there too. She was glad that Richard didn’t say anything to her after they left the hospital. She hates Ava, but she didn’t wish for her death.
The mourning hall was well decorated with flowers and a golden casket was brought with a large portrait of Ava Leon’s picture placed inside.
The hall was one to be reckoned with in New Jersey. It costs millions of dollars. The guest wondered if Ava Leon was a princess to be given such a befitting burial.
It speaks volume of her husband’s wealth and how much he loved her. Their marriage was a quiet one but it’s obvious that Adrian loved his wife very much.
But a question was in everyone’s lips and no one could voice it out: how did she end up in prison before meeting her untimely death?
How?
