Chapter 32: Sam Leon is dead

Book:His Unwanted Bride (Married by Mistake) Published:2024-11-1

“I have no past with your family and you haven’t done us a single favour. What do you have to offer my family? We are wealthy and out of our generosity we hired you as our gardener. So what past are you talking about?
Ava Leon will die in that jail for what she’d done to father. She’ll suffer a worse fate than death and I will not let this go, at all. She can’t kill a flea nor can he step on an Ant but she attempted to murder my father” Anna Lester declared, spat on the floor and went away.
Sam felt he was running out of breath. He was now very weak. His heart pained him, not because of the news that Ava is in jail but because Anna said they have done them no favours.
How can she say that, how can she betray him and Clara? How can she forget that they have no biological child today and it’s all because of the help they rendered them.
How can she say to him that Ava would die in jail. The only child he now has by adoption, was going to die too in the hands of the Lester family? Why was he foolish to think everyone has a good heart?
He felt as if he didn’t have any strength in him again. Adrian turned to leave and he leaped, stretched out his hand and held him and he fell on the floor.
He was now panting. Adrian nonchalantly turned and glared at the man who fell at his feet without an iota of sympathy to help him.
“Sam!” Clara rushed to him and held him close, trying to help him. What can she do now, she didn’t know. She needs help. “Please help me, I need help”
Alice launched forward and saw that Sam could no longer talk. Sam’s eyes were locked on Adrian’s and for the first time, his feelings of humanity were ignited and he said “help take him to the hospital”
“A.. va..” Was the last word, Sam uttered and he suddenly went silent. Alice and Clara tried to help him but his hands dropped to his sides and his head threw to another side.
Adrian saw everything and a cold shiver ran through his spine. Looks like this man is dead. But he stood calm, not showing any sign of being worried.
Sam Leon was carried by one of his bodyguards and a car was offered to take him to the hospital. The men all knew he was dead but the women didn’t know a thing. Clara placed the wheelchair in the car trunk and got in.
After they left, Adrian walked in and told his mom “Sam Leon is dead!” And went upstairs. Anna Lester was shocked, she glanced at her son’s retreating back view and couldn’t ask any more questions.
Adrian sank into the bed. What past was Sam Leon talking about? The man appeared disappointed at his mom’s words. Did he do anything for them before?
He said it to him and to his mom. He is certain that he didn’t know a thing but his mom, does she know the favour Sam Leon was talking about?
He would ask her. If she knew about it, she would tell him. She cannot lie to him. She loves him too much to do that.
Two hours later, Alice returned to the Lester mansion in tears. Her eyes were puffy and red. She decided to leave because her tears were not in any way going to change what had happened.
Clara felt as if she was going to die. Her daughter was jailed and now her husband is dead. All in the hands of the Lester family. She’d helped her return home while Sam was placed in the morgue.
Her last glance at Sam Leon, he appeared to be in a peaceful sleep. His face was calm, free of the worries of this life. Sam Leon is no more.
She would wait. After Richard is back and old man Lester is out of danger, she would resign. Even if she works in the Lester family until her last breath, they will still regard her services as nothing.
If after Sam Leon’s hard work and faithful service to them, he was treated like this, then no one can really impress them. It is better that she did not expect anything from them henceforth.

In X-city, Santiago and Jimmy were already downstairs waiting for their parents. They arrived late the previous evening and didn’t bother to disturb their sleep.
They had found out the whole incident of that day and discovered that it’s a psycho that deliberately did that. She ended up scattering the children apart.
“You boys owe me an apology. You didn’t wake us up last night?” Simon declared descending the stairs and followed closely by Nancy.
“We thought we shouldn’t bother you both by disturbing your sleep” Jimmy explained, clad in a military uniform. He looked charming.
“What is the outcome of your findings?” Nancy asked, not interested in anything else. She wants to know that her daughter is alive. She wants to know who did that and sue him or her.
“Let’s have breakfast first, Mom,” Santiago suggested. This good news would make his mother go the rest of the day without food and she wouldn’t even know that she’s hungry.
“Hell no!” Nancy screamed at him. She had waited from the previous evening and now, Santiago says they should have breakfast first.
Santiago chuckled and said the news is going live in five minutes then. But I think you should be calm because…” he was saying when Nancy took the TV remote.
“I’ll turn on the best TV station. Tell me if my daughter was swapped or not, Santiago. Don’t let me get even with you both. Was my daughter swapped, is she still alive somewhere?” Nancy demanded impatiently.
How can she wait for five minutes when she can just hear it already? Why are her sons doing this? They want her blood pressure to rise before they’ll tell her what they found out?
“Yes, she was swapped. Our sister is alive and as we speak now, we’re already searching for her” Jimmy announced.
For the next few minutes, Nancy couldn’t utter a word. Her words choked in her throat and all she could do was let the tears trickle down.
She was trying to smile but the tears were coming faster. Her eyes went reddened and she covered her mouth with her palm as Simon pulled her into a hug.
