Is this Marriage?

Book:His Unwanted Bride (Married by Mistake) Published:2024-11-1

How can anything ever be alright between her and that stone hearted young man. Nothing matters to him besides himself and what he wants.
His grandfather’s words don’t even matter to him, how can Ava Leon ever mean anything to him. But he shouldn’t have treated her like he did the previous night. That is the height of unfaithfulness of any man.
If he didn’t honour their anniversary and left her stranded in the storm, she wouldn’t think horrible of him like she does at the moment but he was caught in a scandal with his ex-girlfriend.
Is she even his ex-girlfriend? From what she saw last night, she’s his current girlfriend, they’re still knitted together in a love affair.
He was having affairs as a married man and his wife was too scared to raise an eyebrow. He could fuck another woman before his wife and she would scringe away and hide herself to cry her pains out.
Is this marriage or slavery?
“No Ms. Alice, nothing is ever going to be alright. Adrian Lester is never going to find me worthy of him, he would never love me, he hates and detest me” Ava Leon corrected.
How can Alice think that the dude surnamed Lester was ever going to think highly of her to that extent. No, he would never do it. He hates her and she knows it, everyone knows it including Ms. Alice herself.
“I want you to remain strong as always. You’re a strong woman Ava, please hold on and stay happy for yourself henceforth” Ms. Alice replied.
She doesn’t know what else to say. As much as she wants to see her divorce that dude Adrian, she cannot say it out. She shouldn’t be the one to tell her to do so.
Her parents would probably be in the best position to do so. But since she doesn’t want to say a word of anything to them because of her Papa’s health, she can only wish her to stay happy and strong for herself alone forever.
In Lester’s family, everyone came downstairs for breakfast except grandfather. Richard wouldn’t touch his meal but went upstairs to check on his father.
He found him staring out of the window and standing with his back against the door. He was lost in thought. He knew what was bothering his dad but chose not to say anything about it.
“Good morning, Father” Richard said, walking over to stand by the window too. Old man Lester nodded but said nothing else.
“Aren’t you coming over for breakfast?” Richard asked, glancing at his dad. It seemed to him like he was looking ten years older than he was the previous evening. He hadn’t had a good night’s sleep.
“No” old man Lester answered without turning to glance at his son. How can he be at the table having breakfast when the daughter in-law of that family is lying on the hospital bed.
And she’s lying there because of the inhumane behaviour of his own grandson. How can he be comfortable having breakfast then? Others may not, but he has a bit of conscience in him.
“I’ll have the servant deliver your breakfast to you in your room then” offered and wanted to leave when his father said “That won’t be necessary”
Richard went silent again and for some seconds, he didn’t say anything. He turned, glanced at his dad before walking out. As soon as he stepped out, he heard the sound of the door being bolted from within.
How can he solve this puzzle now? Adrian Lester is stubborn and only wants to do what will make him happy and he understands that with his statue, position and power, he would want someone he loves and not Ava Leon.
He is a billionaire and controls wealth. He is also blessed with a charming look and appearance. It is only normal that he would be arrogant and wouldn’t let anyone choose his wife for him.
And his grandfather wouldn’t want to back out from the commitment of the past. That time was different from the 21st century and things are different now.
How can father still feel like they owe the Leon’s family and therefore, must fulfil their old long made bargain. There are other ways things can be done without having to be this way, right?
They could compensate them with whatever amount they name. They can get them a house as well and that way, they would have returned the favours and not necessarily by insisting on this marriage kind of favour.
When he returned to join his family, Adrian was almost halfway gone in his breakfast. Anna too spared him no glance nor asked him why father didn’t come downstairs for breakfast.
They’re both happy. Adrian appeared cheerful and he could see that excited look on his son again. He looked really handsome and charming that morning.
Is Ava Leon the reason for his unhappy mood each time he comes to have a meal with his family, especially with her sitting at the dining table with them?
In the Leon family, the couple have their breakfast. Sam Leon uses the wheelchair or lays on the bed. But that morning, he wasn’t feeling well at all.
He read the news about his son in-law Adrian Lester and another woman. Was he cheating on his daughter? Is he treating her unfairly by having affairs with another woman?
Never had Ava said a word of anything to them. She would always tell them that Adrian likes her and dotes on her. They’ve always been impressed with the Lester family and held them in high esteem.
How is Ava feeling now, discovering that her husband was cheating on her. Will she be alright, will his little baby girl be fine?
“I think we need to call Adrian’s father and ask him what happened?” Clara Leon suggested. Her daughter must be in pain at the moment. Her heart is broken.
“No, I think I need to talk to Adrian himself?” Sam Leon corrected. After all, Adrian is an adult and he is the one married to Ava his daughter and he is the one in a passionate love affair with another woman.
He picked up his phone and called Adrian Lester.
