HEY! SHE IS STILL YOUR MOTHER.

“She lacked nothing while growing up but didn’t receive the love she wanted and searched for it elsewhere. Because of how I raised her, she was determined to get your father. Your father was a normal Omega who just wanted to be taken care of by an alpha. He wanted men and not a woman. Liam wanted dominance and protection. Your mother, Aliyah, wanted a father figure and love. Your mother felt insulted and vowed to change your father to be into her.”
“She is selfish.” Her actions annoyed me. “How could she do that to him? My father had preferences for alpha individuals. Couldn’t she have just let him go?”
It was also surprising, though. To find out that my father was bisexual and was more into men than women.
I didn’t know he had such a preference. He was so sweet and caring to me. He didn’t look like it.
I could still recall his angelic smooth voice when he speaks to me.
“Wendy, how was school today?” He would ask as he shifted away from his laptop and welcome me with a warm smile when I come to him.
Who knew he was not happy in his marriage?
I don’t know what to think about this. It’s kind of a lot to take in. But his happiness was what should have mattered to my mother and not force herself on him.
“Your mother got pregnant and informed your father. Your father accepted you and agreed to co-parenting in raising you. But your mother would not have it. She threatened to abort you if he doesn’t get married to her. He was terrified and didn’t want you growing up alone like he did. His childhood was a mess, and he didn’t want history to repeat itself. He knew what he went through as a lone wolf. He got married to your mother to raise you. Back then, I didn’t know the full story of why he got married to your mother. I shared some properties between them to live peacefully and be happy. But his absence from home affected your mother. She stalked him and followed him everywhere to make sure he wasn’t cheating on her and did all kinds of stuff to him. Your father wasn’t happy with his marriage, but he always made sure he was there for you. When he couldn’t handle the idea of being unhappy with your mother, he had affairs with various alphas. He would go secretly into hotels and do whatever he wanted.”
“He looked for happiness elsewhere.” I mumbled. His life story is sad for real.
“He could have asked for a divorce, but he didn’t want to hurt you. Liam thought by having an affair, he could stay sane and not turn into a monster and hate you and your mother. Your father hated what he was doing, but to keep his sanity, he had to do what he needed to do to stay sane. Your mother caught him several times and finally had enough. She filed for a divorce. Your father wanted your custody. Your mother denied it and presented pictures of him going to various hotels to court. He lost the case. Despite him losing custody of you, he begged your mother to at least let him see his child. To let him see you. It could be on weekends or whatever plan is suitable for her and he would do anything to keep seeing you. She denied him every access to you and he became devastated.”
He truly loved me that much. I thought he didn’t care about me.
“Your mother, with so much anger, left him. She met her mate, your stepfather, and dated him for six months. When I found out who he was, I was against it. I warned your mother to not marry him because where he came from was a mess. She refused and got married to him. Your mother took you away from everyone and hardly allowed me to come see you because she didn’t want me talking about your stepfather to her. She has gotten what she wanted and didn’t want anyone to jinx it like she claimed. I hardly knew what went on with you, but I was happy that someone was protecting you.”
“Me?” Who was that person?
He smiled. “I’m talking about Aiden.”
“You knew about Aiden?”
“Yes.” He laughed. “I approached him six years ago about you. He was gentle and kind-hearted. I told him my worries and how a lot of alphas are in the duplex with you. That it would be dangerous for an Omega to stay in the middle of alphas. He said, Alpha Aiden, I know what you are talking about. I am going to protect her. She is naive and I don’t want my brothers to hurt her. I promise you to take care of her, and I don’t care if I have to put my life on the line. I will take care of her.”
“Aiden.” I hesitated. “He…he said those words to you.”
“Yes, that’s when I knew he had feelings for you, too. An Alpha doesn’t just protect an Omega for no reason.”
“I love him.” I confessed. “That’s Aiden. He’s the only one who can say those words. Wish I could have saved him, papa. I wish I stayed by his side and didn’t let him go. I was too weak, and he was always the one protecting me. I did nothing for him.”
“Wipe your tears. Wherever he is, I’m sure he never hated you. He always loved you, so be happy for him.”
“I know.” I sobbed for a few minutes as my grandpa kept patting my left shoulder to calm down.
I wiped off my tears and let my grandfather continue his story.
“When I saw his determination, I knew I could trust him. If I failed in raising my daughter right, I wasn’t letting the same thing happen to you. He told me how you were doing and I was happy to hear about your well-being.”
“Grandpa.” I muttered.
“I wanted to take custody of you, but I couldn’t and your mother shut me out of your life. I had no choice but to go through Aiden.”
“She is so annoying and infuriating. Selfish and such a narcissist.”
“We both know how she is.”
“Even though she is dead, I don’t miss her at all.”
“Hey, don’t say that. She is still my daughter and your mother.”
“Hmph.”
“And your stepfather was a knucklehead. That’s why I couldn’t trust him in your care. He was a loose dog.”
“Was that why you were against their marriage when you found out about him and the Grimwolf’s family?”
“Yes, and no. He was a loose dog, but something was off about him.”
“What was that? Was it the fact that Sihwa was the true leader of the pack and he was just a stand-in? I don’t understand that part. I thought every firstborn of an alpha takes over the clan when the leader dies. So, how was he a stand-in for the clan?”
“Where did you hear that from?”
