My grandfather cleared his throat. “I would leave the explanations for Jane to do. I’m an alpha, but it is better for an Omega to explain the details to you.”
Why was he embarrassed, though? I laughed and rested my hands on the table.
“Why are you laughing?”
“No, it’s nothing.” I shook my head and my smile faded from my face as soon as he chuckled.
“What would happen to the pack? Would Sihwa-”
He cut me short by heaving a long sigh. “Sihwa would take over as the leader of the pack. He is currently gathering the people of the clan and reconstructing the clan to be in better shape as we speak. A unique, fearsome clan which belongs to him and him alone.”
“That fast. He blew out the pack-”
“He didn’t entirely blow out his pack. He burned the part he committed his crime to get rid of evidence. No one would know what truly happened. He would just come up with a story and the people of the clan would believe it and obey his word. No one would find out what he did.”
“Why? Why will he do such a horrible thing?”
“Because he is capable of it. And thinks he can do whatever he wants.”
“Ugh.” I groaned a little and felt weary. The more I think about what I have gone through, the weaker I get.
“Yes, that’s what it is. While his brother knocked you out, he burned the entire mansion and buildings of the pack, which belonged to his father, and made them his own. Believe it when they tell you he is dangerous and don’t get moved by his innocent, pretty face.”
“He killed his family to get what he wants? Why did he kill Aiden? And why did he spare the others?”
“It’s a game. He’s doing it because of you.”
“Me?”
“Yes. Sihwa spared your step brother’s lives because of you. Sihwa wanted to see how it would go if you saw them and how things would turn out. He killed Aiden because of you. He must have found out Aiden was in love with you and took him out of the way.”
“Aiden.”
“Don’t look so surprised. He is your stepbrother, but you have feelings for him. It is pretty obvious by how you talk about him.”
“I’m sorry papa.”
“No need for that. You can’t control your feelings for someone. You can suppress it, but you can’t take it away from your heart.”
“How did he know? Aiden hid his feelings from me for years, and I did the same thing. We both hid our feelings even when we knew what we felt for each other. We did nothing more than attract the attention of anyone to find out about our relationship.”
“That’s what you think. But Sihwa has sharp eyes. He must have known a long time ago and used that opportunity to kill him when he planned to take over the pack. Sihwa killed some of his brothers as well, because he knew they were after his position. He took out the alphas who were after his position and the clan.”
“What! That is so ridiculous.”
“It is to you, but not to him. He killed the people who were a threat to him and spared the ones he could control. He wants to be at the top and rule. So, because of his power and influence, people don’t want to get on his bad side. They all want to survive and live. Sihwa is a mysterious being. People call him ‘The Serpent’ and while some of them call him ‘The crocodile’, I think that’s what suits him best. No one wants to get on his bad side.”
“I don’t understand, grandfather. I don’t know what is going on. Please, tell me everything that is going on. Who are the Grimwolf’s family? I want to know their story. I’ve been with them for 8 years and I don’t actually know much about them. I only know Aiden, who was nice to me and the other Alphas, except for Gerhard. They just hate me. It is like they love being cruel to me. I don’t understand why they hate me so much. What did I ever do to them? You talk about their bruised egos, grandfather. They must be more to why they are all acting like this to me. I can’t do this anymore. I’m tired of staying in the dark and waiting for someone to explain to me what is going on. No one is saying anything. They are just silent and bouncing me around like some cocaine. Grandfather, I need to know what is going on? Please tell me everything. I want to know everything about them.”
“Why do you want to know about them? You are leaving them anyway. Will you be alright, if you know about them and still choose to leave?”
“I will be alright. I can’t stay after what I’ve gone through in their hands. I want to know everything. I know I’m leaving, but I still want to know who they are and what the Grimwolf’s family is all about. I want to know their rules, their tradition and why mom got married to their father. Was it because they were mates or it was just selfish interest? There are so many questions I need answers to.”
“Ok, little kitty.” My grandfather cleared his throat and gave out a long sigh. “It all started after my wife died giving birth to your mother. She was the love of my life and my mate. It shattered when she gave her life to save our daughter instead of herself during her labor. It took me time to not hate my daughter and finally accepted her as my wife’s wish to live. After getting over the grief of hating my daughter for a long time, I finally focused on my daughter and to give her a good life. Even though I couldn’t forget my wife, she will always be in my heart, as long as I live. Your mother grew up to be a beautiful woman and fell in love with your father. He was an Omega.”
I knew my father was an Omega, but why were they always fighting? And why did he abandon me?
“She didn’t care about your father being an Omega. She was in love and wished to get married to him. But your father wasn’t into women that much. Your father’s name is Liam George. Liam was bisexual, but he was more focused on alphas. He told her about his sexuality and what he felt towards her. He said he wasn’t in love with her. Your mother got furious and insisted on him loving her. Your mother was a spoiled brat. It was my fault. I was so focused on my work and gave her anything she wanted without showing her love and affection.”
