3rd person’s POV
It’s been over two weeks now, there haven’t been any attack from the Twilight Fang pack as he had challenged.
Dimitri find it surprising and had thought maybe he had a rethink due to the letter Kate had sent to him.
Dimitri had also sent a copy of the challenge letter he received from him and the council had sent a warning message to him not to try and launch any attack on the Bloodmoon pack, as Dimitri has every right to break Alliance with him since he isn’t comfortable with Alpha Damien ways and with the way he had tackled him on the day of the Werewolf council decision.
But with that Dimitri still ensures the security at the pack border isn’t slacken.
He strode out of the office and head back to his chamber.

Kate sit by the window of their room, she glanced into the forest and watch the Birds chirping and flying from trees to trees and the distant rustling of leaves in the breeze makes her feel relaxed. She could hear the warriors training in the Pack training yard just some distance away from the Pack house. The Pack house being a tall building gives her access to a wide view of the Pack. The pack and the Warriors are recovering from the battle effect and they now accept her as part of the pack, But she felt she hasn’t done enough,
Just like she had decided to join Lia and Isolde in training the young Weres, she has been helping those who are close to their first transformation with the little experience she had gathered during her transformation journey.
She has also decided to develop her skills as a warrior trainer as she finds herself more interested in training the Men and helping in building a stronger pack.
She sensed Dimitri’s presence as he entered the room and didn’t bother to look back to check who had entered. Their Mate bonding is growing so fast that it always seem like there is a magnetic force between them, one she is still getting used to. His heavy footsteps echoed across the room as he approaches her. There was a time when she had dread those sound when they would send shivers of fear down her spine but now, all it brings is a sense of comfort and an anticipation for his touch.
“Kate,” Dimitri called out, his deep voice interrupting her thoughts. ” Here you are, What are you thinking about?”
She turned her head to face him, meeting his fierce green eyes.
” I’m just thinking of how we could strengthen the pack more” she replied softly.
She watches as Dimitri’s expression soften, the rare sight of the gruesome Lycan king. He stepped closer, and draw the other chair across Kate closer to her, then sat down and place his hands on Kate’s lap then held unto her hands, this sends sparks through her skin with each passing day, their connection has deepen despite all the obstacles,
“I am also thinking about it too,” Dimitri said, his voice quieter now. “Your contribution to build a stronger pack hasn’t left unnoticed.”
And I appreciate your effort and help and I am sure the entire pack does too.
Kate smiled, but she couldn’t displace the persisting feeling of doubt in her heart.
” But I just feel I am not doing enough. The pack still needs more of my impact. And I feel like I am not fitting in well here.”
Dimitri smiled slid his hands to her shoulder, then pull her chair more closer and held onto her shoulder. “You’re doing just enough, Kate. Your presence have brought a sense of significance to the pack and me.
The pack now feels whole, an emptiness that have been lingering for a long time, being rule by an Alpha without a Luna.
And now you have brought back that strength.
His words makes her feel encouraged, but yet, they stirred something inside Kate-a sense of insecurity. She had been an half breed omega before someone who was treated as nothing other than slave amongst her people. So despite Dimitri’s words and reassurances, the hurtful memories of her past still stick to her mind. But she must take them off her mind, there is no time to dwell on those thoughts, especially now that Lyka had inform her a challenge that lies ahead.
She needs to inform Dimitri before it’s too late,
Now that a mysterious rogue had appeared at their border and disappeared, she fears a looming threat.
“Have you heard anything about the rogue that had disappeared magically?” she asked, shifting the conversation.
Dimitri gave a soft sigh and nodded. “We’re keeping a close eye on the border and we have also inform our ally packs and the packs we shared border with of the sudden appearance, we’re also tracking down the remaining rogues who had escaped during the battle as we fear they might be planning on regrouping. And since get rid of Zues and The werewolf hunters there’s still a sense of relief.”
“But your Father’s sudden silence regarding the challenge also seem to baffles me as I don’t see him as one who accept defeat just like that, Dimitri said.”
Yeah same here, I just hope he isn’t planning anything stupid, my father has always want to prove he is stubborn and has the strength to challenge anyone, Kate said.
Well I have my eyes on his pack and his other Ally Packs as well, some of them has also pulled out after we pulled out as they are not in support of his challenge towards my Pack and they also find his activity regarding the Silverwood Trees fishy, Dimitri said.
Kate sighed. “We need to be prepared for anything, especially with the council’s decision on taking over the Silverwood Trees, My Fath- Alpha Damien can’t be trusted.
I also hope he doesn’t have anything to do with the sudden appearance of the rogue.”
Dimitri held on to Kate’s hand and tighten his grip “That’s why I need you by my side, Kate. Your presence has been nothing but a strength to my weakness and together, we can protect this pack, no matter what comes our way. Not even your Father.”
Please can you stop referring to him as my Father, it use to make me feel I still have relationship with him and I don’t want to have that feeling, Kate said.
Okay I will, Dimitri said.
A knock from the door interrupted their conversation. Louis stepped in, his face expression was serious. “Dimitri, Kate,” he greeted with a slight bow. “We need to discuss on the preparations for the next Full Moon as well as the Training of the young Warriors that transformed during the last Full Moon, Though they are improving, but there are some weaknesses we need to work on.”
Dimitri straightened up in his chair loosening his grip from Kate gently, his authoritative stance returning. ” Okay Let’s head to the training yard. We would help them improve on their weaknesses.”
Both Dimitri and Kate stood up from their chairs and they stepped out of the room and they head down the stairs.

The training yard were bustling with activity as they entered. The Warriors were sparring in pairs, their movements quick and powerful. Melinda barked orders, correcting their moves and guiding them through more advanced techniques.
Dimitri and Louis crossed their arms, and fixed their eyes on the Warriors as they observed their movement. Kate stood beside Dimitri, watching the movement of the warriors as well. She watch as Dimitri note out their weaknesses, pointing them out to Louis, Some has hesitations in their movements, some lack of coordination. They have built their strength, but they still have much work to do with their movements.
She interrupted.
So I have been thinking why don’t we include a herb therapy in the training session for the young Warriors, this can help boost their strength, she said locking gaze with Dimitri. The once who are close to their transformation can also be placed on the herbs therapy as well, with that they wouldn’t be finding it difficult in building their strength.
Yes we can have it added to the young Warriors training sessions but not the young Weres who are just about to transform, I would prefer if they transform based on their strengths and we also need to be careful and be mindful of the how the herbs is being used.
We need to ensure we have Warriors who are strong as doesn’t just rely on the herbs for strength, Dimitri said careful enough not to dismiss Kate’s suggestion.
Yes that is true, I didn’t thought of it in that direction, Kate said.
“But perhaps we should implement more intensive training sessions so that we can have more Men ready even if their will going to be a possible attack from the Twilight Fang Pack or whatever creature that is lurking out there.”
Dimitri nodded. “Yes. What do suggest we do?”
Kate’s heart skipped at Dimitri’s question but she went ahead to say what comes to her mind
“Since we have recognise their weaknesses, we could introduce more specialised combat training, she said.”
She have been learning more on how to help the Warriors improve their skills since she started working with Lia and Isolde.
I have also noticed that the leadership such as the Border patrol guards is fixed, I would suggest we should rotate the leadership among the warriors weekly, and during drills, this will help build their adaptability and confidence, though the head guards will still be maintain their position and taking decisions.
“But each warrior need to be able to follow and lead.”
Louis cut in. “That is a nice idea, it could work. We’ve been focusing on building the warrior strength, but adaptability and quick decision making are just as important in battle as strength.”
Dimitri peeked at Kate, a slight smile at the corner of his lips. He feels confident with Kate’s contribution “I see you’ve been noting your observations and work on the possible strategies that could work.”
Kate’s confidence heightens at his nice remark.
I want to ensure I make an impact in the pack and help in produce more strong and confident warriors.
Louis is also proud of Kate, she had transform from that weak half breed to a strong growing Luna with nothing but determination and hard work.
He is happy he gave her a chance to grow because if he had let his doubt took the best of him when Kate arrived and hadn’t make Dimitri see a reason why he should give love a chance again and accept Kate as his Second Chance Mate, this wouldn’t have happen.
As they were discussing on how to improve the training sessions, a guard rushed into the training yard, he is out of breath. Dimitri and Louis turned to him instantly on an alert.
“What is it?” Dimitri asked, his voice low and commanding.
“There’s… something you need to see, Alpha,” the guard said, looking at both Dimitri and Louis. “It’s urgent.”
Dimitri’s jaw tightened, and without another word, he Louis and Kate followed the messenger toward the pack’s borders. The urgency in the guard’s voice had set off alarms in their minds.

As they reached the northern border, the warriors were gathered around someone.
Dimitri stepped forward, his eyes narrowing. “Where did you find him?”
The warriors parted for Dimitri, Loius and Kate to pass, revealing Rogue Wolf chained with iron chains. His clothes were torn, and he could barely breathe.
We found him lurking around the border, and we chased him down, one of the guards on patrol explained
Dimitri growled and knelt down beside the rogue, who sent you here, he demanded.
“You thought you have won, the rogue smirked.”
We are coming for you, he added and suddenly uses his lips to push out a black seed-like tube from his mouth then breaks it with his teeth and started convulsing immediately and died.
The sight of what just happened dread Dimitri, and everyone standing.
Dimitri looked at Louis then to the body of the rogue lying on the floor.
Did that just happen, he said with a shock in his voice.
