Chapter 47: Got Injured

Book:The Cursed Lycan's Rejected Luna Published:2024-11-1

Kate’s POV
It’s 6 am again,
I stood up to go for the training again.
I have been trying to transform now for the past six days now,
But all my attempt hasn’t been successfully,
It would have been easier if you have your mate present, Lia had said.
But that doesn’t seem to be possible now.
As I haven’t even seen my so called mate for days now,
Infact I haven’t even seen him since the night of Seth burial.
He has things to clean up, so I’ve heard.
I stepped out of my room as usual and climb down the stairs.
I feel less motivated this days.
Since all my efforts seem to be futile.
Thanks to Lia and Lyka who has been my support system.
I didn’t even relate with anyone apart from Lia and Ruby my Maid.
Even when some pack members see me and greet me with a bow.
I have decided to ignore them.
They don’t get to get a response from me
Not after they had publicly rejected me, and stated that I am not fit to be their Luna.
I opened the door to the training yard, and stepped in closing it behind me.
Lia seem to be late today,
She must have slept off, I murmured.
As I am about to start jogging,
The door opened,
Lia stepped in,
Good morning My Luna, she greeted
Good morning Lia, I answered.
I am sorry for coming late, she pleaded.
It’s okay, I replied.
She joined me and we started jogging.
The Alarm set off,
It’s been 30 minutes since we started jogging.
We stopped and I sat down on the cabin floor.
I am still not feeling myself.
So let’s start the–
Can we just run into the woods, I said cutting Lia short
I don’t feel like doing anything this morning, I added.
Lia looked at me silently for awhile,
Okay, let’s just take a run, she said.
We head out of the cabin,
And head to the woods just at the back of the pack house.
We started running,
I couldn’t keep up with Lia’s fast pace but I kept on running just behind her.
And suddenly I stumbled over a stump and fell.
Lia heard the thud and turned back,
Oh jeez, she exclaimed.
I am sorry Luna for running to fast, she pleaded.
It’s not your fault, I said as I sat up.
I should have had it in mind, you’re not used to the woods just yet, she said remorsefully.
You’re bleeding, she gasped.
No I just a scratch, I said.
I stretched my hand forth for her to help me us.
Are you sure you are okay, she asked.
Yes I a-am, I felt sharp pain in my leg.
Let me get you to the clinic, you have sprain your ankle, she said.
She supported me to walk, which is slow.
Then she carried me on her back.
And in no time we came out of the woods,
We head to the pack clinic,
The nurses came rushing towards us as the spot us, and get me to lie down on the Bed.
They attend to me immediately,
She stumbled over a stump , fell and sprained her ankle while we went for a run, Lia explained.
Oh okay, the doctor that as come to attend responded.
He cleaned up my wounds and stopped the bleeding.
He then started to treat my sprained ankle,
And in just some minutes time, he was done.
Can go now, Lia asked.
Yes but she should not do any strenuous activity until the leg him up well, he answered.
Lia helped me up and we head back to the pack house.
I don’t think you will be able to attend today’s celebration feast, Lia said.
As we approach the pack house.
There is a celebration feast today, I asked.
Yes I head Beta Kayden informing the Head Servant about it while I coming to the Cabin earlier, she answered.
Oh okay then that’s very good.
I should be able to walk by myself by evening, I responded
What happened, a familiar voice jolted I and Lia as we get to know stairway that leads to the second floor of the pack house
I raised up my head to see who it is, it is Louis.
Oh-hh Good morning Beta Louis, I greeted.
Good morning Luna Kate, he replied
And turned to face Lia who was standing beside me but mute.
What happened, he demanded again.
She sprained her ankle while we went for a run, Lia responded with a shaky voice.
A Run? Louis snarled.
Oh-hh I was the one who requested we go for a run, I spoke as I sensed Louis was about to scold Lia.
She knows better not to allow you go for a run alone, He replied.
I’m fine,
I’ve been treated already, I said.
I should be back on my feet in few hours, I added.
Get her to her room and meet me at the Training yard, he commanded.
Okay Beta, Lia replied.
What does he meant when he said,
“You know better not to allow me go for a run alone”
I wasn’t alone you were with me, I asked.
He meant without the Alpha, Lia gave a sharp response.
And what is the big deal in going for a run that the Alpha has to be with me, I asked again.
Because the former Luna, Luna Amelia fell and fainted while she went for a run with her friend Diana, Lia explained.
They rushed her to the clinic,
But the doctors couldn’t find what was wrong with her, she added.
She wasn’t injured by the fall, she just wasn’t waking up,
And by the third day she died to the strange illness, she concluded.
Oh wow, that’s strange.
She remembered Diana had mentioned she decided to become a Nurse due to the death of her friend.
***
It’s evening already,
I have been resting since Lia helped me to my room.
Ruby has been helpful.
She has checked on me up to several times that I lost count.
She would come even when I had not requested for her.
Why do keep coming back, aren’t you busy with the Feast preparation, I had asked.
Of course not I just want to make sure you are okay, she had said.
A knock came from the other side of the door again,
Then she came in,
Oh Ruby you are here, I said
What can I help you with, she asked.
Perhaps I could use some help getting ready for the Feast, I replied.
Okay, she went straight to the Closet to pick out clothes for me to choose from.
She brought out 5 different dresses that is fit for the occasion.
I pointed to a wine long dress
And the she helped me up to the bathroom door.
And in few minutes I came.
I wore the dress
As I was about to wear the short heels that compliment the dress,
I felt a sharp pain on my ankle.
Oops I don’t think I will be able to go to the feast, I said.
I can’t go to the feast limping, I added.
Let me stay with you to keep you complain then, Ruby said.
No you should go,
I will be fine, I said.
But she refused.
