I couldn’t believe what I saw. Bruno had kissed Lucia. I dug my fingers into my palm. I was more than angry. This wasn’t the first time Bruno had kissed a girl but it was the first time I feared that this kiss wasn’t just any kiss. I have lost Bruno. The thought didn’t sit well in my heart.
It was bitter in my mouth.
I dug my fingers into my palm. I was pained, but more angry than pained. I couldn’t lose Bruno, especially to that type of girl. She wasn’t worth him. She wasn’t worthy of standing beside him. I watched as Bruno pulled away and brushed some strands of hair away from her face.
It was evident that he was attracted to her. Attracted to her in the wrong way. I saw the way he treated her. With so much care. I wanted him to care for me in the same way. I wanted to be in Lucia’s place. I wanted him to look at me with so much warmth and not just want me in bed.’
I don’t know when It happened but I had fallen hard for this man and wasn’t sure I could stand. No, I didn’t want to stop liking him. I couldn’t be attracted to another. No one was like him.
I’ll make him mine.
I don’t care if I have to go farther than I should. I don’t care if I have to do stuff that will make him hate me for the rest of his life. Well, he won’t find out. I don’t care if I have to take a life. This wasn’t going to be the first time I killed someone so it was no big deal.
As I walked away from the door, I made a new resolve. Lucia had to go for me to stay. I walked out of the club. I entered my car. My hands wrapped around the steering wheel tightly. My chest heaved up and down in anger as I remembered what I saw. I hit the steering violently. “I should be the one next to him. I should be the one he cares about,” I tried to steady my anger by taking deep breaths but it was useless.
I drove off. Driving straight to another bar. That was the bar owned by my friend. I entered the bar which was filled as always. I walked straight to her office. I opened it without knocking to see her sitting on the sofa. Her legs were wide open and a guy was on his knees eating her pussy.
They stopped when they saw me.
She was displeased but I couldn’t care less. My eyes moved around, not giving them a second look as they continued whatever they were doing. I walked to the table. There was a bottle of vodka and a glass. I poured some drink into the cup and downed it immediately. I poured another and downed it.
“I need to talk, right now,” I turned around and said. She understood what I meant.
As I watched the man leave, I walked to sit down on the sofa opposite Suzzy. She wore her underwear. “What’s so important that you couldn’t wait till I was done.” She asked. I didn’t reply. My eyes were fixed on the glass I held.
“What is wrong?” She asked again. “You said you wanted to talk,” she reminded me.
I didn’t forget what I said. I was still wondering the best way to start. I had denied being in love with Bruno many times. “I want Bruno,” I said.
“And you already have him,” she said. She walked to her table and took a wrap of cigarettes, sitting at the end. “In what other ways do you want him this time?” She asked me. “He is already yours. You have him wrapped around your finger with that hot body of yours,” she walked to sit with me on the sofa.
“That’s what I thought,” I said. I suddenly felt like smoking, so I took the cigarette from her. I dragged it and puffed out smoke from my mouth and nose. It felt good. “Bruno found another toy,” I said.
“Not like it’s the first time,” she said. I turned to hold her eyes. “Don’t tell me that’s what you want to talk about,” she says. “We both know he would dispose of the toy before it even gets old.”
I shook my head, not agreeing with her. “This time it seems different. Like he is so into her,” I said. My voice was laced with the worry I tried to hide. “I think I am the one that will be disposed of,” I said. She squinted her eyes. “He seemed to be more than curious with this one,” I said.
Suzzy lets out a loud laugh, “that man has a heart of stone,” she pauses to catch her breath, “you are not suggesting that he is in love,” she asks. I sighed. “He is?” She asked surprised.
“I think so,” I said. I shook my head, “No, I know so. He likes her,” I said remembering the way he stared at her and brushed her hair off her face. “I have never seen him treat any girl the way he does her. It was like he was acting in reverse,” I said.
“Oh,” she paused, not knowing what to say too. “Then I guess you should find another man. Stop being possessive of him. Since you don’t love him, it’s okay. There are other fishes in the sea,” Suzzy said. She made it sound easy but I knew it wasn’t.
“I can’t leave him alone,” I said. “Why?” She asked.
“Because I do love him,” I answered her.
“But you said you didn’t,” she said, moving closer to me.
I looked away from her, “I lied,” I paused. I hated the fact that I had lied to her, but I didn’t know I was this much in love with him till now.
“Was the lie necessary? You could have told me the truth,” she said, disappointed that I lied to her.
“That doesn’t change anything. It’s not even of importance right now,” I said. She sighs. “I have to get him back and I need your help. I need a plan. Even if it means killing that whore. I can’t lose Bruno and you know it,” I said.
She was quiet for a while. Suzzy was the queen of plans. She was a real bitch who always had enough plot at the back of her hand. “Please,” I said, moving closer to her and pulling her hands.
“Fine,” she said. “Move closer,” she says and I moved closer while she whispered into my ear. As I listened to her, one side of my lips pulled into a smile. She was truly the queen of plots.

A week passed and I didn’t go to the club. I was slowly working on my plan on how to get rid of Lucia once and for all and keep Bruno close to me.
The last thing I wanted was for anything to go wrong. I kept my eyes on Bruno. He didn’t call me. Well, he was not the one to call and has never called me. I didn’t call him either. I wasn’t going to call him. I didn’t want to arouse his suspicions.
As I walked into the club, I tried to put a smile on my face. As usual, I was greeted by the smell of alcohol mixed with sweat. I walked around the club saying greetings to all I knew as I made my way to Bruno’s office. I knocked and entered.
“Got a new toy and completely forgot about me,” I said. I held a black bag in my hands.
“If you come to speak nonsense, you know your way out,” he said without looking at me. I gritted my teeth. I hate the fact that he spoke to me coldly. He wasn’t the sweetest person, but at least I had his attention whenever I entered his office.
“I gave what you said some thought and decided to let things go the way you want,” this caught his attention and he raised his head. “Sounds as if you had other options,” he says with a smirk plastered on his face. “I won’t hold on to you, I’ll get over my feelings for you since they do not seem to be reciprocated,” I paused to study his reaction but he didn’t seem too interested.
“I’m glad you came back to your senses. Took you a while though, but it’s fine.”
“But if you ever get tired of her, know I am always here,” I said. He just shook his head without replying. “What do I owe for this visit? I don’t remember I asked you to come over,” he says.
“Thought it would be best to invite myself,” I said.
“I see.” He says. I have a package to pick, and I want company,” I said. He scoffed. “And you think this was the best place to come?” He asked me.
“Of course,” I said, “it’s very important stuff and not just anyone can accompany me,” I explained to him.
“And you think I’ll come?” He asked.
“You can always choose one of your trusted men to come with me,” I said. I know Rave was the only one he trusted enough to come with me, but he wasn’t in the city right now.
“Rave won’t be able to come. Can’t this be postponed?” He asked and I quickly shook my head, “Of course not. You know how these people are. We can’t allow our reputation as the best to be affected,” I said trying to convince him.
Just then, the door opened and she entered. My eyes twinkled with hatred when I saw her walk in. I quickly smile, “She’s beautiful. I see why you chose her,” I said softly to Bruno who completely ignored what I said.
“How about she come with me? You trust her, don’t you?” I asked.
“Where am I going?” Lucia asked, walking close to us. She didn’t spare me a look and it made me more angry. While I carefully planned how to get rid of her she didn’t give a fuck about me. But that was somehow good too. It means she won’t suspect anything.
I quickly explained to her.
“I’ll go,” she said. She didn’t need to ask if Bruno trusted her. It was clear he did. “I don’t want you to go,” Bruno said. “‘Why?” She asked. Bruno pressed his lips together, unable to answer her. His eyes moved to me and I gave him an innocent look.
“Fine,” he said. “I’ll trust you to keep everything important to me safe,” Bruno said. I understood he was referring to Lucia. It was clear he didn’t fully trust me but he had no choice. I nodded quickly.
“Of course,”
We both left. This was easier than I thought. Lucia didn’t say a word all through. She had her eyes fixed on the road. I couldn’t be bothered to strike up a conversation with her either. I hated her. Anger bunt within me as I sat close to her. I wished it would engulf her immediately.
The plan was simple.
Take Lucia to a secluded place and finish her off. I took a sharp bend. She sat tight not asking any questions. She seemed to not know where we were heading to. My eyes moved from her from time to time. She kept touching a pendant on her neck.
I pulled up next to an abandoned warehouse and we got down. I stole her phone without her notice and led her inside. If only she knew how much danger she was in.
“Why is everywhere so dark?” She asked. I didn’t answer and she turned slowly.
“Fool,” I cussed. I didn’t expect you to be this stupid.
“What?” Her eyes opened as she didn’t expect me to speak in such a manner. “You should know I hate you. How naive of you to think I’ll let you have Bruno,” I said.
I clapped and the door was closed. The warehouse became clearer and some men in black walked out of their hiding place. She tried to find her phone but couldn’t.
“No one is going to save you Lucia,” I said.
I was going to end her for good.
