JADE
The sunset lamp in our room did little justice in shedding its light all over the dim room. But it was a good thing because Luciano would not be able to see my face and see how frustrated I am at this moment.
Ever since our first encounter with the Valentinos, I have not been myself. Especially coming to learn that one of those sisters actually loves my husband and wants him for herself. She does not even care about being the second wife. All she is so concerned about is being Luciano’s wife.
I mean he is fucking married to me! Does she want to ruin our marraige to achieve this her aim?
Why does it seem like the entire world is against my marraige?
I did not even know want to marry Luciano in the first place but I was forced into marrying him and now it seems like the entire world just hates me for that.
I had so many questions to ask Luciano concerning everything I overhead earlier.
Valerie said Luciano was meant for her, does that mean they once dated or something?
At that moment, Luciano came to lie down next to me. His strong cologne filled my nostrils, hitting me like a hard drug.
I was hesistant to talk at first but I guess it’s now or never.
“Luciano, you must really be acquainted with the Valentinos” I began.
“I am” Luciano simply replied. “How is your body now wife? Do we need to see the doctor tomorrow?” Luciano asked me out of the blue.
“What?” I responded back with a question.
“You said you were feeling dizzy earlier today which was why we left their house so fast. So how is your body now?” Luciano reminded me of my own lie.
Oh Gosh!
I had totally forgot I said that. I guess I will have to play along with that stupid lie.
I sat up and straightened my spine,” I feel a lot better though. Thank you”
“Can you tell me all you know about the Valentinos?” I requested with pure curiosity.
“Really?” Luciano sounded amused and I could tell because of the lopsided smile that played on his lips.
I nodded. “I honestly want to know more about them. They seem like a very interesting family with dangerous secrets. Just like ours”
Luciano laid flat on the bed, facing the ceiling. It was as if he was thinking on what to say to me. Or perhaps what to lie to me about.
I was about opening my mouth to urge him to speak when he started talking as if reading my mind.
“Damien is a drug baron which you know quite well. He helps us concerning the movement and sales of drugs all around Europe and Asia but Ecuador is his main territory. His sisters, Leila and Valerie mean the entire world to him.
He loves them more than anything. After loosing their parents at such a young age in a terrible gun brawl, Damien is the closest person those girls ever knew as a father figure in their lives.
The Valentinos are really close to our family. We literally see them as part of our family and our family ties goes way back past generations”
Hearing that, I felt this sudden surge of pity for them. But then Valerie wants my husband and I feel she might use her husband to get to Luciano considering how close they seem to be.
“Valerie seemed upset that she was not informed personally about our wedding. Why is that so?” I prod further.
Luciano then lay on his side and faced me, “I do not know. She is angry with her brother of course”
“Are you sure? Or is there something more I should know?”
“Something more like what Jade?” Luciano asked sternly.
I heaved a sigh. I was clearly not satisfied with the answers he gave me but I did not want to push him any further.
“Nothing though. I was just very curious Luciano. Goodnight” I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes.
“Goodnight wife” Luciano whispered in my ears before he wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer into his warm embrace.

“Man you have to understand me. My brothers are becoming very irresponsible in handling the distribution of the drugs around southern America” I groaned, talking to Damien.
He had invited me to come see me in his office early this morning. I felt really bad leaving Jade before she could even flutter her beautiful eyes open but work duties really called and there was too much on my plate right now to handle.
“Doesn’t sound like any of the Greco brothers that I know” Damien chuckled.
He was making a joke out of the situation but I was not finding anything funny.
“Hard to believe but Raffaele and Arturo are becoming more of a dangerous risk to the mafia every fucking day.
Just recently I had instructed Rodriguez to reduce the shipments of morphine and narcotine to sixty instead of eighty tonnes because it was constantly being stolen under Arturo’s pretence careful watch.
I keep on getting various bad reports of missing drugs and goods being stuck on the broader”
“Really? This is strange. So what are you doing about that?” Damien raised me a brow, a curious look on his face.
“What else?” I sighed.
“I reduced my brothers shares and authorities. Raffaele was suppose to oversee the shipments of our goods all around Europe according to my father’s wishes but I gave it to Petro instead” I added
“He is furious is he not?” Damien rhetorically asked knowing quite well what my answer would be.
“Extremely. But I am not fazed. He can not do more than a dead horse. You see why I need your help in letting my goods pass through Ecuador instead of the normal routes for the mean time? My brothers won’t know of it and I can face on other issues at hand”
Damien inhaled deeply and studied my countenance. “You know your wedding came as a shock to all of us Luciano. I was not quite expecting it” He swiftly attempted to change the topic.
Fuck. Classic Damien.
Where was he heading to now with all these? What plans does he have up his sleeve?
“I have apologised a thousand times for it haven’t I?” I rolled my eyes.
“Well to me yes but not to Valerie. She was the most…” he smirked.
“Damien where are you heading to with this?” I sharply chimed in.
“Luciano I will help you. I will give you all the access you need but on the condition that you marry my sister Valerie, Luciano” Damien deadpanned, not batting an eyelid at me.
