Kira checked her phone and found out it was Aiden who was calling her. A small smile formed on her lips as she sat on the bed and answered.
“Good morning!!” She greeted sweetly, already feeling all giddy inside.
“Good morning, love. Did you sleep well?” Aiden asked her.
“Yes and no,” she responded, still smiling.
“Why no?” Bryan, who she had not heard his voice, asked from the background of their call.
“What happened?” He continued asking, his voice now closer.
“Give me the phone Bryan, where are you taking it too?” She heard Aiden ask Bryan.
It was as if Bryan had taken the phone from Aiden and was now moving around, trying to get away from him.
Kira just laughed softly at their little bickering that never seems to end. “I slept well, just missing you guys and Bryan, do you always have to get on his nerves?”
“Yes, I always have too, and we miss you too, love. Well… I miss you. I don’t know about that other one,” Bryan said with a laugh.
“I miss you too, my love, oh Goddess. BRYAN!” Aiden shouted from the background.
“I’m pretty sure he can hear you clearly, you know how he is,” Bryan told Kira, still laughing as he ignored Aiden and moved around the room, not wanting Aiden close. “He doesn’t even have to be close to the phone.”
“Give me back my phone, Bryan, or else…” Aiden started threatening, “BRYAN… I swear I will…”
Bryan stopped moving and turned to Aiden, his eyes locked on the phone. “Shhh!” He whispered, placing his index finger on Aiden’s lips. “Calm down, brother.”
“Oh you two!” Kira laughed, “Can you both just stop!”
Aiden slapped Bryan’s hand away from his lips, “Get your finger away from my lips. Goddess knows where you put it in,” Aiden hissed, making an irritated face.
And that was how Kira listened and laughed at both of them bickering some more.
“Look, you two… Mom and Dad are waiting for me, I have to shower and have breakfast. So you both can eat each other, but I’m definitely eating food.” Kira informed them after their bickering had died down.
“You know, love… We are actually starving for something else,” Aiden said with a sly grin.
Kira raised an eyebrow, confused at what Aiden was saying. “What do you mean?”
“Come on, Luna.” Bryan said with a smirk. “You know exactly what we mean.”
Kira noticed how they sounded, then her eyes widened as it hit her. “Oh my Goddess, seriously?” She blushed hard. “You two are impossible!” she giggled, covering her face with her other hand.
“Impossible? Are you sure that’s the word you are looking for? Or do you mean Irresistible?” Bryan quipped.
Kira could already imagine their facial reactions, like them smirking or having some mischievous grin on their faces. She rolled her eyes, still blushing.
“Boy, bye,” she said playfully and ended the call.
Bryan and Aiden laughed hard as she ended the call, feeling proud of themselves. “I suppose that line worked,” Aiden said to Bryan.
“It sure did, I bet she is…you know,” Bryan nodded, still laughing.
“Mhm…she definitely is,” Aiden agreed.
And Kira was. After hanging up, she flopped onto the bed, still giggling to herself. “Gosh,” she muttered and buried her face in a pillow, kicking her legs a little. “What’s this I’m feeling?” She asked herself, the blush lingering on her cheeks.
“Silly Alphas,” she muttered affectionately, laughing softly.
A knock sounded at her door while she still reminisced about everything, making her sit up quickly as if she had been caught doing something wrong. “Who’s it?”
“Kira? Breakfast is ready,” Elara called from the other side.
“Okay, Mom!” Kira answered and smiled, trying to calm her giggles. “I’m coming! I will be down soon.”
“Alright, darling. See you in the dining room,” Elara responded before leaving.
Still grinning to herself, Kira headed to the bathroom, to take a quick shower. After she was done, and had dried off, she dressed into comfortable clothes.
Kira bit her lips, a small smile lingering as she made her way downstairs.
“For what is worth, I would not mind being their breakfast,” she thought as she reached the dining room, but immediately cleared her throat, gulping.
“I am never telling them I thought that!” She said to herself. “Oh my!” Her blushing increased at the kind of thoughts she was having. And seeing the food laid out on the dining table, was not helping. Even food was now reminding her of them.
“I can’t believe I’m thinking this way,” Kira whispered under her breath as she took a seat at the dinner table. She tried to focus on the food in front of her– the roasted chicken and rice.
Elara who was watching her, set down a glass of juice in front of her and stroked her hair, giving her a peck on the head before going to sit down, as did Orion. They had both exchanged curious glances, noticing how flushed Kira looked.
“Kira, sweetheart…” Elara started slowly, a suspicious smile on her lips. “Is there a reason why you are so red?”
“Yeah,” Orion leaned in. “I think you are blushing. What has got you blushing like that?”
Kira immediately sat up straighter. “Me?” She asked them, acting like she had no idea what they meant. She reached up to her cheeks and rubbed them. “N-nothing! No reason! I guess it’s hot here, very hot,” she stuttered, her voice a little too high. “You don’t feel hot, too? I feel hot,” she fanned herself, looking everywhere else but at them.
“Oh, chicken.” Kira exclaimed when her eyes landed on it. She snatched a piece and stuffed it into her mouth, like that would save her from further questioning.
“I suppose it’s hot,” Elara said to Orion. “Do you feel hot, darling? I’m starting to feel hot too,” she sarcastically asked Orion who also played along, giving Elara a knowing smirk.
“I do feel hot,” he chuckled and then turned to Kira and asked, “Have you spoken to your mates? Maybe this morning?”
Kira froze mid-bite and chewed slowly. She tried to avoid their amused stares, the question betraying her completely. “Daaaddd please,” she swallowed, groaning softly. “Can we just eat?”
“You are too easy to read, sweetheart,” Elara laughed, shaking her head.
“Alright, alright,” Orion finally said with a grin. “Let’s eat.”
