Erica’s POV
I looked at Dante in shock. What was he doing here? I didn’t call him. How did he even find me?
“What is this man doing here, Erica?”
I sat up and narrowed my eyes down on him.
Urghh! He was so ballsy that it made me mad.
“The real question is, ‘What are you doing here, Dante?’ How did you find me? I didn’t call you.”
He ignored me and stood toe to toe with Javier who stared back at him, unafraid.
“I will ask you one last time. What are you doing here? What are you doing with Erica?”
Javier stared back at him. He was raised to his full height and he looked slightly taller than Dante.
“She told you that she doesn’t want you here. You’re the only one that is here without an invitation.”
Dante’s green eyes darkened and he turned to me.
“You invited him here?”
I was silent. I didn’t have anything to say. My hands shook slightly. Was I scared of Dante all of a sudden?
“Erica…”
I gripped the sheets tightly.
“Yes, Dante. I invited him here. I wanted him to stay with me. I, however, didn’t call you. What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
We stared at each other. I was slightly scared but I glared daggers into his green eyes. He was here without an invitation. He had better explain how he found me. Was he stalking me now?
“Dante?”
“I…I tracked your phone. I felt that something was wrong with you so I tracked your phone and it led me here.”
I was dumbfounded. He had tracked my phone?!
I glared hatefully at him. My hand moved so fast that I grabbed my phone and threw it at his head. My aim was perfect but he dodged it and it smashed against the wall.
“You have been stalking me?! For how long, Dante?!”
I didn’t care about my phone that lay in shambles on the floor.
“Answer me, Dante!”
“It was only today. I was worried about you that I had to track your phone so that I could come and find you.”
“Screw you, Dante!”
I was furious. I was so angry that I didn’t even realize when I had gotten out of bed and was walking towards him.
My leg had mostly healed. I was a lot better.
I picked up the smashed pieces of my phone from the floor and it thrust it into his hand.
“Here! Since you like to track people, you can track this!”
He took the pieces and looked at them in horror. His eyes were white and his pupils had nearly engulfed the green of his irises as they dilated.
“Why are you acting like this, Erica? You are being brash and unreasonable.”
“Oh? I’m unreasonable? I’m the one that’s being unreasonable? I told you to stay away from and because you are the Alpha of this pack, you think that you can do whatever you like without regard for others. I hate you!”
He looked exasperated but I didn’t care. He deserved this and more.
“This isn’t the time for this ranting, Erica. I’m here now. Tell me what happened. Who did this to you?”
I chuckled dryly.
“You really think that I am just going to tell you what happened to me just because you are here. No. Go away. I don’t want to see you.”
I was firm and I pointed to the door. It was time that he left. I had had enough of him.
“What is wrong with you, Erica? We have something important going on. This isn’t the time for all this drama.”
I chuckled even more.
“Drama? Is that what you think this is? You invade my privacy and I confront you about it and you call it drama. I think that you are even worse than Hazan…”
“Shhhhh…”
He hushed me angrily.
“… Why would you say that? You know what my policy is on that topic.”
He looked at Javier but her had heard everything. Dante knew and he growled at him.
“Why are you still here? You should leave. This is personal business between Erica and me…”
“Forget it,” I said loudly. “He already knows. I told him about it.”
Dante whipped his head around and faced me.
“What?! Why would you do that? You know that I don’t want anyone in my pack to know about it! You were there when I told the guards.”
I was unmoved and couldn’t care less.
“I trust him, that was why I told him. You could learn a thing or two about boundaries from him, you know.”
Dante’s face flushed in anger and I saw his fist shake.
He tried his best to compose himself and he exhaled deeply.
“We don’t have much time. I can see that you are feeling much better. I suggest that we get a werewolf doctor so that he can discharge you on time. I am not going to let you sleep in the hospital with him. You are going to come home with me.”
“Like hell I am!”
I pulled my arm away as soon as he grabbed it and took several steps back.
“I am not going anywhere. I will go home and you are going to do nothing about it. Now, thank you for your unwanted visit but I think you have overstayed your welcome.”
He looked at me in horror but I didn’t flinch.
“Erica, are you asking me to leave?”
“What does it look like? Yes! I am asking you to leave. I don’t want to see you. Leave and don’t you dare track my phone again!”
He turned and glared at Javier. He wanted to say something but I cut him off.
“Javier stays with me. Leave now else I’ll tell the nurses that you are bothering me.”
Dante bit his lower lip and his eyes glanced from Javier to me in a mix of hate and suspicion.
He said nothing and walked out.
I climbed back into bed and Javier closed the door.
“He is really crazy about you. Do you need me to stick around more so that he doesn’t bother you?”
I would have agreed to his offer but I held back. The kiss still plagued me. I didn’t want him to keep growing his feelings for me.
“I’ll be fine Javier. We should be more worried about a doctor. We need to find one that is a werewolf. I have to be discharged soon.”
Javier smiled.
“No worries. I’m on it.”
