Tilda has a daughter?
“I don’t even want to know about Rosalind, let alone her.”
“Got it, Mr. Walters.”
After hanging up the phone, Ulric sat back in his chair, staring intently at his phone.
Johnny was right. If you’re going to cut ties, do it completely. Don’t care about anything, and don’t ask about anything.
…
Because work had piled up with no one to handle it, Rosalind didn’t stop working even while in the hospital.
She didn’t let Tilda bring the child to the hospital to accompany her. Such a place wasn’t good for Floyd to visit frequently.
After sending them away, Rosalind opened her phone and logged into her company account.
Over the years, to avoid Ulric, she only marked her work account with the name “Ruell” without using her full name. After all, there were many people with the surname Ruell, and Ulric probably wouldn’t find her.
Or perhaps, he hadn’t even tried to look for her.
Rosalind still clearly remembered Ulric’s words, “I hate you.” Those words had echoed in her ears many times during sleepless nights.
She knew she had deeply hurt Ulric.
“Beep beep!”
A message from Mr. Wong appeared on her computer screen.
Rosalind clicked it open.
“Miss Ruell, why are you handling work instead of resting? If the higher-ups find out, they’ll scold me for not taking care of you!”
She smiled and replied, “If you don’t tell Lion, he won’t know! The company’s legal team is busy with other projects right now. I don’t feel comfortable outsourcing the resort project, so I have to put in extra effort myself. I hope Mr. Wong will put in a good word for me at the annual meeting.”
“Of course! Don’t worry, even if I don’t speak up for you, Lion will! He mentioned today after leaving the hospital that if you weren’t married, he would definitely pursue you. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated and proactive.”
Rosalind tugged at the corner of her mouth and sent back a smiley face.
She always claimed to be married to avoid a lot of trouble.
Since joining this company, Lion had never stopped looking out for her. Beyond professional camaraderie, there was a hint of something more, but Rosalind never responded or felt moved.
Until the truth about her mother’s death was revealed, she didn’t want anything else-just to make money.
“I’m serious. Lion has praised you many times, saying you fit his criteria for an ideal partner perfectly.”
Seeing Rosalind’s lack of response, Mr. Wong sent another message.
Her fingers paused for a few seconds before typing, “Don’t say such things! If my husband finds out, he would get jealous.”
Rosalind understood Mr. Wong’s intentions clearly.
He was just testing the waters for Lion! If she didn’t show clear signs of rejection, Lion might get even closer to her.
In the workplace, especially among men in leadership positions, they often didn’t care whether someone was married. They cared about conquest, challenge, excitement, and novelty.
But she had no time for emotional games, so her reply clearly indicated that she was married and had no intention of having an affair.
“Haha, then I’ll take back what I said! Pretend I never mentioned it. Call me if you need anything; I’ll be working late too.”
“Okay.”
