Congratulations, Ivy!”
“Congrats!”
“Well done!”
The cast and crew cheered as today marks the completion of ‘Tomboy Donna.’
They gifted the main characters presents, mainly a bunch of roses, and happily celebrated the completion of their role after a long period of relentless shoots.
Ivy received tons of flowers, while her bodyguards checked them for any potential harm that could be covert in them. Everyone on set had gotten used to seeing them around her; the nosy ones didn’t bother asking because they knew they wouldn’t get any answers.
“A big congratulations to you, Ivy.” Director Tim appeared behind her offering her roses with a grin.
“Congratulations to you too, Director Tim.” Ivy replied, taking the flowers.
“Are you still not going to attend the after-party?” Director asked, his eyebrow arched, expecting her to change her mind. He had once asked her, but she declined the invitation.
Ivy smiled softly, giving an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, not in the party mood. I just want to take a long rest.”
Director Tim nodded in agreement; it was indeed an arduous shoot, and this was the first action genre she had acted in, which was very surprising for him. He never expected her to quickly adapt to the harsh shoots. She did her fight scene herself, leaving the more hazardous explosive effects to her stunt double. “I have recommended you to a friend of mine, he will contact you when it’s time.”
“Thank you.” She smiled wholeheartedly. The next film she will be partaking in has been set, just as he had promised her a few weeks ago. Director Tim was impressed by her adaptability and perseverance in acting, especially her fight scene. The action genre is more arduous than most, and she nailed it without stressing him out. He was compelled to acknowledge her passion for her career.
“I wish you good luck on your next film,” he said, retaining his smile before leaving to finish off the last part of his work for the day.
On Ivy’s way out, she met Anna with her personal assistant. Anna was all smiles, spreading her arms out for an embrace.
“I’m so happy; finally, I can get to rest without body ache.”
“Me too.” Ivy chuckled, and they enveloped in a tight embrace. The feeling of happiness was mutual. Ivy couldn’t help but enjoy this feeling, the career she had given up on, took a hiatus for three years, and here she was celebrating the last shoot for her first film after the long break.
To her, it was a victory won, her ability to bounce back up even when it seems difficult to regain her place in the industry. Apparently, she was now an infamous actress, all thanks to her sister spreading fake rumors about her orchestrating and scheming behind the scenes. Going as far as altering her appearance to resemble her and steal her role. And she was well aware she wasn’t done yet.
But despite all that, she got a new role without needing an audition. And she was certain ‘Tomboy Donna’ will pave the way for more significant opportunities in her career.
Her lips curved up into a wide smile, in spite of the unidentified enemy lurking behind the shadows ready to harm her at any chance. She could only hope for the better in the current issue regarding her safety.
They pulled away from the warm embrace. Anna couldn’t contain her happiness; her eyes beamed with relief from the exhausting shoots, although there were other upcoming ones.
“When ‘Tomboy Donna’ starts screening, we go watch it together at the theater,” she said, with a hint of excitement in her voice.
“Well…” Ivy hesitated, she wasn’t as excited as Anna about watching herself on the big screen.
Anna’s smile faded a bit when she noticed Ivy was less enthusiastic. “What is it, don’t you like watching your movies?”
Ivy shrugged, her voice laced with apathy. “Yes, I do, but I’m not that zealous about it.”
Anna stared at her skeptically. “You can’t be serious. I anticipate my movie like a typical fan.”
She chuckled, amused by Anna’s eagerness. “I’m quite the opposite; I’d rather see the audience’s reaction first.”
Anna raised her eyebrow. “Why is that?”
“I don’t recognize myself in the movie, and my mind keeps nagging me that I am the character.” Ivy’s reply made Anna snicker.
“That won’t be an excuse not to come with me; if we get overly popular before then, we get to wear disguises.”
They both burst into a fit of laughter and continued with their conversation. They won’t be seeing each other for some time as they would be busy with their work.
After their banter, Ivy left the set. She and Zack had agreed on staying at the penthouse till the end of the month before returning back to the villa. She loved the breathtaking view from the apartment and also the cozy atmosphere that made her feel snug and relaxed.
While her mind flashed to her husband, she subconsciously smiled, a sense of tranquility washed over her.
It was a familiar feeling to her for the past few weeks. As her mind settled on the thought of Zack, she felt a heat in her cheek, her smile never faltering. She then decided to give him a call; he had promised to pick her up today but he didn’t show up.
“He must have been overwhelmed with work again.”
The line went through; his voice sounded sweet and alluring, which made her cheek flush.
“Hello, wifey.”
“Hello, hubby.”
They went silent for a few seconds before Zack spoke up again with a seductive tone. “Did you miss me?”
Ivy wanted to reply with a ‘no’ as usual, but she opted to be honest with her feelings this time around. “Yes, I missed you.”
She could hear Zack’s contented sigh echo through the phone. “I didn’t expect you to admit that.”
Ivy’s lips pursed, a glimmer of embarrassment flickered in her eyes. “Okay, I’ll take that back; I didn’t miss you.”
Zack erupted into a soft laughter. Ivy’s eyebrow arched in surprise.
“I didn’t know he could laugh out loud like that,” she said inwardly, listening to the sound of his laughter. His deep, yet smooth voice was soothing to her ears.
“Wifey, you’re so silly,” he said, trying to contain his amusement.
“And you’re so taunting,” she replied, chuckling in between. “I’m done with the shoots; I’m going home now.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t find time to take you home today,” he said, his voice calm and apologetic. “I wanted to be the first to congratulate you.”
“It’s alright; I know you’ve been busy. But remember not to overstrain yourself. I’ll not give you a free massage again.” She admonished, her shoulders raised in amusement. It felt really good to extort the once cold Zack Anderson.
“You still owe me a full-body massage.”
Ivy was about to reply before she felt a sudden jerk, causing her to accidentally drop her phone on her lap. She didn’t have enough time to react to the earlier interruption. But that became the least of her worries. The car immediately bounced vigorously for a split second. The next moment it erupted into full speed, colliding with another car and darting past it without stopping.
“LOUIS, WHAT’S HAPPENING!”
