It turned out that she was not exempt from this.
It turned out that deep down, she still cared a little bit.
And he, who understood everything, was willing to do it.
Marriage was all about her urging for her, and this time, would Enrico propose to her all over again?
Paige raised her hand to cover her eyes, she couldn’t think about it, if she thought about it any longer she was going to think about all the possibilities, and then she wouldn’t be able to act surprised if Enrico did anything else.
Being proposed to had to be a surprise, right?
Paige forced herself not to think about it, but the more she did, the more she thought about it.
Couldn’t stay there any longer.
She took the ring off her hand and carefully placed it back on the riser above her gown, turning it a few more times to adjust it to its original position.
Only after making sure nothing was broken did Paige slowly exit, closing the door carefully behind her and turning to walk out.
As soon as she stepped out of the locker room, Paige saw Gabriel standing in the hallway, placing a pair of small hands behind his back and looking intently at a painting on the wall, his small mouth mumbling a couple times, “Hmmm, not bad …”
Paige let out a low chuckle and sauntered over toward him, crouching down in front of him, her hands going to pinch his little face, “Can you read it?”
“I can read it, I can read it.” Gabriel nodded with a feigned look of sophistication.
“You.” Paige nudged his little nose with her hand.
“Mommy, did you find the ring?” Gabriel asked her.
Paige thought for a moment, “No, maybe Daddy put it somewhere else.”
She decided to lie even to her son so she wouldn’t spill the beans afterward.
“Oh.” Gabriel stood in front of her, looking at her with wide eyes, “Do you have to look for it?”
“Not looking.” Paige chuckled.
“…”
Gabriel blinked at her, not understanding what was so funny about not being able to find it.
“Come on, Mommy’s leading you to play.” Paige took his hand and walked.
“Mommy, hug, hug!”
Gabriel tugged on her hand and stood on his tiptoes begging for a hug, “Gabriel’s too tired to walk.”
“You’ve only walked a few steps today and you’re tired?”
Paige questioned, but picked him up anyway and Gabriel hugged her neck beautifully, “Go play!”
…
Nightfall.
The aroma in the dining room grew stronger.
In the bright light, Enrico sits at the table and Gabriel climbs onto his lap and sits in his arms watching him play on his cell phone.
Dense text.
Enrico’s finger slides across it, sliding around still text.
Gabriel looks serious, tilting his head to the left, then to the right, and nodding his head twice from time to time.
Enrico pushed his head to one side, “You can’t read a word, what are you pretending here.”
Gabriel touched his head somewhat depressedly, “Daddy, are you disliking me for being uneducated?”
“Yes.” Enrico answered without hesitation.
“Then you put on a TV movie cartoon ah, that I will watch.” Gabriel said with a serious face.
“I can look at a picture and listen to a sound, and you’re still proud of it, aren’t you?”
Enrico looked at him in disgust.
Gabriel deflated, then defiantly said, “And I can make Mommy smile whenever she sees me.”
“Then you’re really good at it.” Enrico gave a mocking laugh.
“What skill?” Paige asked as she walked in to see the scene of father-son bickering while setting the soup in her hand on the table.
Gabriel climbed out of Enrico’s lap and sat up, reaching for the lid of the pot, “What’s this?”
“Don’t touch it, it’s not for you.”
Paige smacked his little hand away and lifted the lid, looking at Enrico with a smile on her face, “Clear stewed chicken soup, I stewed it for you, eat more chicken, it will help you recover from your broken bones.”
“You stewed it for me?” Enrico looked at her with some surprise.
“Yes, done under the chef’s guidance.”
“This big portion is all for me?” Enrico asked.
“Of course, it was stewed just for you, without any messy seasonings.”
When Enrico heard that, his person also instantly raised an eyebrow, he looked down at the little person in his arms and raised his eyebrows provocatively, “Did you just say that mommy smiles when she sees anyone?”
“…”
Gabriel couldn’t retort, so he could only puff out his cheeks and look at Paige accusingly.
Paige didn’t notice him and picked up the small bowl next to her, spooning out a bowl of soup and handing it to Enrico, “Try it, is it good?”
Enrico reached out to take it with a smug look on his face, Paige retracted her hand again, “You’ve got a broken bone, you can’t move your hand well, I’ll feed you.”
You want me to feed you?
Gabriel’s eyes got wider and more aggravated.
Mommy told him to eat by himself.
Enrico also looked at her a little strangely, how long had he been fractured, and now she remembered that he couldn’t eat soup by himself?
Paige could not receive the doubt in his eyes, her eyes were still with a clear smile, standing in front of him, one hand holding a small bowl, one hand cupping a small spoon and scooping a spoonful, putting it to her lips to taste the temperature, and only after she realized it was not hot did she feed it to Enrico’s lips.
“…”
Enrico looked at her this series of actions gaze stuttered for a while before he opened his lips and took a sip, did not taste anything, his voice was low and magnetic, “The flavor is not bad.”
“That’s good, drink more.” Paige feeds him another sip and looks to Gabriel, “Gabriel, sit to the side and eat by yourself, don’t touch Daddy’s injury.”
“…”
Hearing this, Gabriel puffed out his little face and aggressively climbed off of Enrico’s lap and climbed into the other chair, picking up his own little spoon to eat with.
Placed in front of him was a dish of salt-baked shrimp.
White as snow, the salt grains were layered with reddish shrimp.
Paige pinched a shrimp over and Gabriel’s eyes lit up, “Mommy, I want some …”
Creamy, milky voice stuck in his throat.
Only to see Paige dryly peel off the shell of the shrimp and feed the shrimp meat to Enrico’s lips, “What else do you want to eat, I’ll clip it for you.”
Still managing to feed?
Enrico stared at her as she bit the shrimp into her mouth, “What else do you want me to make?”
The will had already been made comprehensively.
“What?”
Paige froze, taking a second to respond, embarrassed at the thought of all the embarrassing things she’d done last night, she cleared her throat, restrained her smile, and said coolly, “I’m only feeding you because I want you to get better sooner, but if you don’t want it, forget it.”
It wasn’t as if she had to feed him.
But it was because she thought that he had to prepare for a wedding next, so exhausting that if he didn’t get his fracture well first, the next would be troublesome.
When she finished, she sat down in her chair.
“Gabriel wants it! Gabriel wants it!” Gabriel held up his little hand expectantly.
Enrico surveyed Paige’s white face and saw nothing else.
It seemed that once Wind Island’s tree was alive, she was relaxed and becoming more gentle in person, so how could he miss it.
Enrico hooked up his lips and rampantly said, ”To. My woman feeds me, I naturally want it.”
“…”
Paige looked at him faintly.
Enrico reaches out and presses his hand to his shoulder, “Speaking of which, if I don’t feed this shoulder well, it could turn into a habitual fracture in the future.”
What a load of crap.
Paige couldn’t help herself, but didn’t poke him, only indulged with abandon, “Say, which dish do you want, I’ll fix it for you.”
