All the drawers were pulled out one by one and she rummaged through the entire bedroom with no sign of the ring.
Paige stood up straight, looking a little puzzled at the somewhat disorganized room she had rummaged through.
Strange.
Enrico had given her the ring, where was it? Had he gotten angry and stopped giving it to her just because she had thrown it away?
But what about the ring?
Paige walked out of the room and into the study again, searching until thin sweat seeped from her head and still found nothing.
She bit her lip, unable to figure out where Enrico could have put the ring, he’d hidden it so tightly, would she be taunted by him if she just called and asked?
Heh, you didn’t want it when I gave it to you, and now you want it? Not giving it away.
“Mommy, what are you looking for?” In the doorway, a little head poked out, blinking glowing eyes at her.
Olivia followed Gabriel and stood in the doorway to take a look, startled by the mess inside, “What’s going on?”
“I’m looking for something.” Paige said, “Didn’t Enrico give me a ring last night, I wonder where he put it.”
Olivia walked in and helped put the drawers back one by one again, shaking her head, “That I don’t know.”
“Is a ring just something that sparkles?” Gabriel jumped in to ask.
Paige was delighted and asked him, “You know?”
“I watched Daddy go into that place with the ring and come out without it on his hand.”
Gabriel took her hand and headed out, standing in the hallway and pointing in a certain direction, “Here, that’s it.”
The locker room?
Paige was baffled, how was it possible to put a ring in a dressing room? It wasn’t impossible, all the jewelry accessories were kept in that room, Enrico could have just dropped it off.
“I’ll go look for it, you follow Olivia,” Paige said as she rubbed a hand on Gabriel’s head and lifted her leg to walk forward.
Pushing open the door to the locker room, it was bright inside.
This dressing room was both large and deep, divided into four areas, with a special clothing area, an accessory area, a shoe area, and a bag area, with different lighting designed for different areas, and different angles of sunlight projected in through the windows.
Paige went straight to the jewelry area, transparent glass surface under a grid of ornaments, from pearls to diamonds, emerald everything.
These weren’t from her collection, she’d been working hard for the past few years and hadn’t been very particular about her clothing, but rather Enrico had added them to her after she’d lived in the manor, many of them his mother’s jewelry.
Paige looked in and out, still the same jewelry she knew, no rings.
Was Gabriel looking at the wrong thing?
She turned her eyes to casually scan the room, and suddenly she saw the floor mirror in the distance, which was large, with an extremely thin slit in the center, barely noticeable unless you looked closely.
There was a secret door on one side of this floor mirror, and inside was a changing room.
She didn’t usually go in there, though, because there was a changing room close to the door, and this one was too far inside.
Paige stood still and quietly looked at the massive floor-to-ceiling mirror, which seemed to be tugging at her as if it was guiding her, and she lifted her leg and walked forward, raising her hand to push open the mirrored door.
This changing room wasn’t big, once the door was opened, warm yellow-toned light fell down, and a hanger stood in the center with pure white vintage gowns hanging on it.
Embroidery design from the neckline, waistline narrowing, elegant and noble, gauze pendulum draping feeling very good, layer by layer like a newlywed wedding veil.
Just so beautiful gown stained with some spots of blood, looks shocking.
At the upper end of the hanger, a ring with a gentle glow circled on an extremely thin white riser, blending perfectly with the gown.
“…”
Paige stared at the ring in awe for a long moment before she stepped forward and removed it from the top.
For a ring, this one was obviously a bit heavy.
Instead of the usual eight-pronged, six-pronged design, the ring was made with an extremely shallow concave bezel, and the crystal clear diamonds flowed like water throughout the concave bezel, simple yet uncomplicated.
She took the ring and walked out of the changing room, stood by the window and turned the ring in her hand.
No matter from which angle, the light was sparkling and eye-catching, but this kind of sparkle was not harsh, with a sense of gentleness.
Paige was awestruck by the ring, and suddenly, with a lurch in her motion to turn it, she looked up toward the opposite wall.
A beam of sunlight fell on the ring in her hand, and the angle of the ring caused it to refract a ray of light onto the opposite wall.
Between the streams of light and color, a small line of text in the shape of a circle appeared on the wall.
“I will always be your Temple in Heaven.
Paige’s heart shook hard and she stared blankly at the writing on the wall, her eyes suddenly sour.
She blinked and looked down at the ring in her hand, it was as if the diamond had a gorgeous, gorgeous world of it in it, she couldn’t see any writing in it and didn’t even know how it was done.
It was amazing that such a beautiful ring was thrown away when she was drunk.
Paige looked down at it, her emotions trembling with emotion.
She slipped the ring onto her ring finger, and sure enough, the split was just right.
The simplicity of the design and the gentle light made even her hand look elegant.
She held her finger up and looked at it in the sunlight, her heart melting like water, the car he’d given her and the ring he’d given her were so delightful.
It was so nice.
She’d just wear the ring to let Enrico know that she was just drunk and confused last night, and she’d take the ring.
Paige smiled and put the ring on, ready to leave.
Suddenly, she stopped again and turned her eyes to the mirrored door to the side, giving birth to new doubts.
Why did Enrico put this ring in the dressing room she didn’t normally use, was he afraid she’d find it, did he want to hide it?
At that thought, Paige couldn’t help but raise her hand again and take a closer look to make sure the ring was indeed made for her finger circumference before she felt relieved.
Lowering her hand, Paige laughed at herself again, what was she thinking.
She’d kill Enrico if the ring that said Temple in Heaven wasn’t made for her.
She looked up and caught another glimpse of the vintage gown.
“Enrico, tonight, let’s pretend I’ve worn your wedding dress for you.”
Paige suddenly remembered what she had said to Enrico at the celebration.
She wanted Enrico to give himself up, she wanted Enrico to stay human, and she wanted him to know that she hadn’t officially worn a wedding dress for him …
Wedding Dress.
Paige came to an expansive realization.
Enrico had put this ring with this wedding-like gown of hers as a reminder, a reminder of himself.
He was getting ready to give her a formal wedding, to put her in a real wedding dress and then wear the ring he’d designed himself.
At that thought, Paige’s legs suddenly went a little weak, and she leaned her back against a side wall, her heart beating so fast it almost skipped a beat, her breathing heavier than usual.
Although she didn’t care about the formality, or the fact that she was the first one to mention getting married, or that she was the one who forced him in at gunpoint when she got the license in the first place, she suddenly knew in advance that Enrico was going to prepare a wedding for her, and her whole body still trembled.
