Chapter 597 – Paige, I Can’t Spoil You Anymore

Book:The Psychotic Girl's Revenge Published:2024-11-1

“What made you suddenly think of designing a sports car yourself?”
“Seeing as how you’re marrying me even with a gun, I had to give you something or how unbalanced you’d be.”
Ah.
A wedding present, a sports car of his own design.
“Algo,” she whispered; he’d said he was going to implant Algo’s AI system into the new car, and this was the one.
“Uh-huh.” Enrico jowled and looked at her, “Going to check it out?”
Paige gathered her men’s suit around her and slowly walked towards the sports car under a sea of envious stares; the closer she got, the more beautiful she thought the car was.
She lifted her hand and slid it over the edge of the door, the fine glitter on it seeming to dance on her fingertips and mesmerize her eyes.
“It’s beautiful.” She said from the bottom of her heart, the color choice made her feel like she was still a little girl.
“Like it?” Enrico asked as he stood and gazed into her face.
Paige wasn’t standing very still and took a step back with her feet weakly as she looked at the car in front of her and said, “From what I understand, it takes a long time for a car to go from design to production, you’re having a gift rushed out, why are you rushing it?”
“…”
She knew exactly why.
Enrico was silent.
“Why?” Paige, as if she really didn’t understand, stepped briskly to stand in front of him and tilted her head back to gaze at him, her body full of the intoxicating scent of wine.
Suddenly, she added, “Ah, I see, you’re afraid you won’t be able to get to me in time to give me the gift yourself right?”
“Paige …”
“Enrico why are you so nice?”
Paige looked at him with mesmerized eyes, the smirk on her face unabated, “I’ve been irritating you so much these days, and you’re still giving me gifts, how are you being so nice to me?”
She finally admitted that she was irritating him on purpose.
Enrico reached out and took hold of her small, slender arm, his voice so deep it hurt, “Paige, we’re done, I just want you to be nice to me for a while longer.”
“Wrong.” Paige wrenched her hands away from his and made an ‘X’ sign with both of them, a slight drunkenness on her face.
“What’s wrong?” She was drunk now, and Enrico couldn’t keep up with her thoughts.
“That’s not the answer.” Paige said with a serious, gruff look on her face, “I asked you how you were so nice, and you should have answered – Paige, I spoil you.”
As she said that, she laughed a few more times as if she thought of something, and there was sweetness in her eyes.
It was so drunk that the memory jumped to nowhere.
“…”
Enrico actually didn’t know what to say when he looked at her like that.
“Say it.” Paige looked at him insistently.
“…”
Enrico stood silent.
Paige tugged at his sleeve like a child, “Enrico, say it.”
Her fingers tightly twisted his sleeve.
Enrico stared down into her hopeful pair of eyes, the knot in his throat rolled and he tasted a touch of blood in his throat.
“Paige …”
He called her name in a low voice, wanting to fulfill her drunken nonsense, but the words changed as they rolled past the hint of blood in his throat, “I can’t spoil you anymore.”
At those words, Paige’s hand twisting his sleeve froze.
She stared at him blankly, blinking a little blankly, her long eyelashes twitching, “Why?”
She asked in disbelief.
“…”
“Will you rephrase it?” She pleaded with him sincerely, “Just say what I said, just say it again.”
She listens once and that’s it.
“…”
Enrico pursed his lips, his eyes fishy red.
“Not even once?” Paige asked him, “Not even if I beg you?”
Was that so hard?
She just wanted him to pamper her again and he couldn’t open his mouth, why was it so hard to just say the word?
“…”
Enrico looked at her, powerless to the core.
The last time he’d been this powerless was when he’d pushed her over the border himself.
Maybe it was good for her to be drunk for a while, at least she didn’t have to be as sober as he was, sober enough to make every decision and then let a huge void engulf him.
Paige looked at him and smiled, laughing as she took a step back and then put up her hand, “Enrico, you can’t die, you owe me more than just a gift, don’t you?”
She looked to her ring finger, there was nothing on it.
He also said he was going to design a ring for her.
It always took time to design a ring, too late to rush the process, right?
She backed up and walked away, her person bumping into the door of the car, which sensed her presence and opened the door automatically.
Inside, the interior was high-end and sophisticated.
Paige, whose thoughts were clouded by alcohol, was drawn in and sat down with her hand on the door.
As soon as she sat in the driver’s seat, the screen in the center automatically popped up and lit up, a cartoon Algo jumped out from the screen and rolled from side to side twice, “Master, after three years of absence, Algo I’m back to kill!”
“…”
Paige leaned her back against the back of the leather chair, staring at the screen in a daze before slapping at it, “You’re no good, three years ago not long after you appeared, Enrico and I were separated, and now that you’re back, I’m going to lose him again.”
The slap was soft and weak.
“Master, how can you say that about Algo.” On the screen, Algo shrank in aggravation, “You know I even brought you a present.”
“You brought me a gift too, what was it?” Paige asked.
“Dang…”
The odd sound effect sounded before a mechanical arm suddenly popped up at the bottom of the screen, with a small gray box clamped to one end of it.
Without waiting for Paige to touch it, the box opened automatically.
A sparkling diamond ring stood silently in the box.
“…”
What did she just say?
Oh, she said he still owed her a ring and couldn’t die, and here comes the ring.
Turns out he had everything ready.
Her irritating tricks were worthless in front of him, he was the one who had really been arranging the aftermath all along.
Paige sat there quietly looking at the ring, and in her afterglow, Enrico had been standing at the side of the car staring at her, the long figure impossible to ignore.
After a long time, Paige’s eyes flickered and she raised her hand to remove the one ring from the box, not wearing it, just looking at it like that.
She slowly turned her eyes to the tall man beside the car and asked in a low voice, “So even this is ready, so why don’t you just deliver it? And also put it in the car?”
“…”
Enrico looked down at her face reddened by alcohol, extraordinarily silent.
“It’s a dare, isn’t it?” Paige twirled the ring on her hand, “The car you could have just delivered, the ring you didn’t dare because it represents commitment and you no longer want to give me commitment.”
“…”
“Enrico, I really didn’t think that you’d ever be such a wimp.” Paige let out a low, mocking laugh that clouded her eyes with a watery glow.
“…”
Enrico stood at the side of the car, his gauze-wrapped hand clenched, bright red blood seeping through the gauze and falling drop by drop.
“Do you think you’re especially great, that you’d give your life for the son I worked so hard to give birth to, but have you ever thought about me?”
Paige’s vision blurred as she looked over at him, “Oh yeah, in your eyes, I even love you because I sympathize with your illness, because I have to pay back what you paid for me back then … Such a me, even if I’m sad about your death, I can’t be sad for much longer, right? “
