While walking out of the Ying manor, Corey held Ying Xiaoxiao’s hand as he turned around to look at that European-style manor. He complained half-jokingly, “This place will be one of the places that I will hate to visit again.”
Hearing his words, Ying Xiaoxiao turned around to look at her manor as well. Sadness appeared on her face as she shifted her gaze to his. “Do you really detest it here so much?”
Corey turned around and stared into her clear pupils, smiling gently and nodding honestly. “I truly don’t want to visit here again.”
Then, he let go of her hand and walked directly to the car.
As her grip became empty, her heart became empty as well. Bitterness filled her heart.
The tip of her fingers curled up as she took a deep breath and raced toward him.
When he was about to open the car door, she shouted, “Corey.”
Corey paused and turned around. A slender figure pounced on him, which made him subconsciously hug her.
The warmth on his lips made him widen his pupils in shock as his eyes met her brilliant pupils.
“We shall finish our act.”
With her lips on his, she whispered.
Hearing that, he glanced behind her at a familiar figure on the balcony of the second floor.
It was Mr. Ying.
He lowered his gaze. “It was just an act.”
He felt mysteriously frustrated.
She retreated, staring at him with her beautiful gaze. “Corey, thanks for helping me today. Even though we acted too intensely, it’s great as long as my father believes us. That will make the situation much calmer for me.”
She blinked affectionately, showing off her cuteness.
Corey suppressed the frustration in his heart and smiled playfully like before. “There is no need to be so polite. After all, I signed a contract with Miss Ying. It’s my duty to be your accomplice.”
When she heard that, her smile froze on her face. “Indeed.”
“Right, there is a paper contract between us. What was I anticipating? Tonight, his actions and words were merely because he was my accomplice, with none of his personal emotions involved.”
She lowered her gaze to hide her emotions, the tips of her fingers trembling beside her.
Corey didn’t know what she was thinking about. He walked forth and kissed on the center of her forehead.

Ying Xiaoxiao’s heart trembled. She lifted up her head to meet his smiling face.

Ying Xiaoxiao stood there and watched him get in his black Jaguar, which had always been as reliable as him. Through the car window, he smiled at her before the sound of the engine roared in the silent night.
She watched as the car drove out of the lawn. Slowly, it disappeared from her sight.
For a long while, she didn’t retract her gaze until her mother’s voice rang out behind her. “Xiaoxiao, the night is cold. Don’t catch a cold, come inside.”
She moved her feet and realized that they were already stiff.
She smiled bitterly before moving them inch by inch back to her manor.
Standing at the front door, her mother approached her with a benevolent smile on her face. “You can’t seem to let him leave! See, he’s left and you are still looking forward.”
She smiled gently. Lowering her gaze, she hid the emotions in her eyes.
Yes, she couldn’t let him leave.
She really couldn’t.
