Rosiley heard the mockery in his tone and therefore defended her best friend. “Xiaoxiao wasn’t the one who acted fast. Uncle Ying wanted to see Corey, so…” She shrugged her shoulders. “You understand.”
Sachin shook his head and laughed. “Corey hates interacting with seniors. He escaped from the dragon’s pit just to enter the tiger’s lair.”
Rosiley was speechless.
“Is he implying that the Lu family is the dragon’s pit and the Ying family is tiger’s lair?”
Sachin looked ahead at the road in front as he smiled meaningfully. “I believe that it’s not so easy for Corey to leave this time.”
In the Lu family, his big brother could prevent him from the oppression of the old man.
But in the Ying family, Mr. Ying was not someone who could be easily fooled. Corey and Xiaoxiao’s performance might not be so easy.
Rosiley raised her brows. She understood what he meant but… this could foster an ideal relationship.

After eating, Corey accompanied Mr. Ying to play a game of chess. As he didn’t know Mr. Ying’s level, Corey was careful with every move, as he was afraid of beating his opponent.
Fortunately, Mr. Ying was highly capable. In the end, Corey lost by a little.
Seeing that he had lost, Corey heaved a sigh of relief. He was glad that he had lost or it would have been embarrassing and impolite to beat a senior.
As Mr. Ying stared directly into his eyes, his black pupils seemed to penetrate his soul.
Corey inadvertently felt a little guilty. He swallowed his saliva and smiled. “Uncle, your chess skills are splendid. I still have to work harder.”
Mr. Ying stared at him for a long while before squeezing a word out of his mouth. “Really?”
That cold and harsh word made Corey uncomfortable. It seemed that Mr. Ying had noticed something.
“Impossible, I concealed my skills well.”
Mr. Ying started packing up the chess pieces. Corey also rushed to help.
Only the sounds of the chess pieces hitting each other could be heard in the study, as awkwardness surrounded the two.
Having returned the chesspieces to the container, Mr. Ying closed it up. Placing his palm on the container, he thought for a while before looking up at Corey. With a pair of twisted brows, he asked, “You studied chess before?”
Hearing that, Corey pondered for a while before answering, “Yes, I learned when I was younger.”
“For how long?”
“For more than 10 years, until I left overseas for my studies. It’s my first time playing chess since coming back.”
A thin smile hung on Corey’s pure and innocent face. He wanted to conceal his real level of chess. However, since Mr. Ying asked, he must have sensed his real abilities, so it would be better for him to be honest instead.
“You studied chess longer than I did. I only started learning chess five years ago.” Mr. Ying had a calm expression that was devoid of anger or happiness.
“Uncle, you must be extremely intelligent to advance to such a level in merely five years.” Corey was very sincere.
However, Mr. Ying ignored that. “Are you mocking me? You purposefully hid your ability and let me win. Doesn’t that show your disdain?”
“Uncle, I…” Corey was embarrassed. He wanted to explain that he never harbored such a thought. However, Mr. Ying’s gloomy expression silenced him.
“Luu, regardless of who it is, you must use your real ability to fight them. That is truly respecting your opponent.”
Mr. Ying’s words made Corey more embarrassed and ashamed. The corner of his mouth twitched as he complained, “I didn’t want to leave a bad impression on you.”
“But you did leave a bad impression on me now.” Mr. Ying stared at him coldly. “You’re dishonest.”
“Dishonest?” Corey didn’t think that he did anything wrong.
Speechless, he covered his forehead with his palm. “Who can tell me how to behave appropriately?”
