Nova’s POV
I heard that howl and I was expecting to hear my bones cracking, but instead, I heard a pair of paws, running towards us and the next thing I felt was a heavy body, pushing me down to the floor.
I thought, perhaps, it was another rogue wolf who wanted to take part in killing me. But that wasn’t the case, because it didn’t seem like any of the wolves were ready to attack me.
I stayed there on the floor with my eyes remained closed. Silently prayed to the goddess that whoever that’s going to kill me between the two wolves should at least be merciful.
A loud howl filled the air and I gripped my ears with both palms. Couldn’t bring myself to watch what was happening.
After a while, the noise stopped and I heard something dropping to the ground. The air was getting thick and I was already feeling choked by the tense atmosphere. Why isn’t anyone coming for me? Were they waiting for me to open my eyes before they would charge at me? Was I dead already? What was that noise?
Different questions flowed through my brain as I slowly opened my eyes to see a black wolf staring down at me. Its eyes were of different colours. One was orange; glowing like an evening sun, calling for me to come closer. The other was a mixture of blue and black, it was so sharp that it warned me to remain on the floor. Scaring me off with its sharp stare.
I gently dropped my gaze to the floor at the wolf’s feet, right there on the floor, beside the black wolf was the wolf from earlier, lying on the floor with its head pulled out of its body. Blood streaming out of the cut and that reminds me of one horrible incident I never wished to remember
Was pulling the head off the body the new trend in the nation, and I never heard about it?
I didn’t know my mouth was hung open until I felt drool on my arm. Would I be lying down like that wolf anytime soon? Tears shimmered in my eyes at the thought of dying crammed my head.
I moved my gaze to the wolf who stood there, without saying or doing anything to scare me. The wolf looked ridiculously familiar, it seemed like I had seen it somewhere before, but I couldn’t think of where I had seen it before. I dropped my gaze to my lap when I saw the wolf suddenly taking a heavy step closer. I remained quiet while fidgeting with my shirt.
The last tap of paws on the floor, with the huge wolf squatting in front of me made me slowly raise my head to look at it. My eyes widened in shock and my heart was pounding hard against my chest.
Why, isn’t it supposed to kill me? Was it trying to have fun before killing me off?
I knitted my brows, staring right into the wolf’s gaze and I somehow felt a wave of relief washed over me. Despite for me to be worrying about what it was going to do to me, I somehow felt safe in its stare.
I slowly stood up, and so was the wolf. I remained in that standing position, not saying anything or moving at all, as I watched the wolf howled. Its voice was thick and I did a double check to see if I wasn’t imagining things.
“Prescott… I mean, your Majesty?” I called with my jaw dropped in total surprise. Now that I was saying it, I remembered where I had seen the wolf before. It was that wolf in the portrait in His Majesty’s office. How can I not remember that?
That made it make sense as to why the black wolf came to my rescue. Wait, had Prescott not come for me, I would have been dead by now, right?
“What are you doing here, your Majesty?” I questioned, gulping hard as he stared at me with those eyes that were surprisingly keeping that cold and soft gaze.
Prescott howled, I moved my gaze back to see a wolf charging towards us from afar. Fear washed over me as I moved my gaze back to Prescott who was kneeling before me, I didn’t know what that was for but I found myself getting on his back, his coat was so comforting that I suddenly wished I could remain on his back forever.
He got up, sprinting away at a light speed, I moved on his back and wrapped my arms around his huge wolf neck.
It was like nothing else matters in the nation as he took me to his apartment, while I remained in his back, enjoying the ride.
He opened the door by bumping his body against the door and we both got into his apartment. He went on two legs and I jumped down from his back.
I was expecting him to turn around and leave, but he stood there, watching me with a blank expression and slowly took a step closer to me.
Right there, he changed back to human form, my gaze was on his chest, watching him breathing heavily. His chest rose and fell as he stared at me with his brows raised.
“I asked you to head straight to this room, what the heck were you doing there?” he barked, slapping his forehead in annoyance.
Watching Prescott pace back and forth made me feel like I had done a bad thing by waiting for that wolf to come to me. But I didn’t mean to stay there for him. His eyes were on me and I felt my legs glued to the floor as if they were cursed by his spell.
“I was on my way here when I ran into him.” I sniffed, tears streaming down my eyes as I heard him raise his voice at me.
It was beginning to feel like how it used to be. I thought he had changed when he started to be nice to me, but hearing him yell at me proved me wrong.
He hasn’t changed. He was still the Lycan King everyone feared. He would never change because of anyone, or so I thought until I heard him let out a deep sigh.
“You should have made a run for it, instead of waiting for him to get to you.” he groaned, grabbing my arms and checking if I was hurt.
He sounded so worried which made me let out a faint smile. May the goddess forgive me for I had judged this man wrongly yet again.
“Did you get hurt, anywhere?” Prescott questioned, sliding his free hand to my jaw, raising my head to look at him.
I shook my head negatively, getting charmed by his worried stare. “No. I’m okay, I didn’t get hurt anywhere.”
“Oh, goddess,” he mumbled, pulling me closer to his chest and then wrapped his large arms around me.
I felt his dick rubbing against my tummy as he rocked my back. I gasped, almost forgetting that this man right here was standing naked before me.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into my ear and his voice came as a moan, or so I thought.
I felt my cheeks heat up as the thought of Prescott’s dick rocking my clothed tommy filled my brain. I moved my hands up and placed them on his bare chest, pushing him off with all my might. Which earned me a confused stare from Prescott.
“What happened?” he arms, his mouth parted in surprise. My eyes ran through his red soft lip and I gulped hard as I suddenly wished I could have a taste of his lips.
“Shit!” I cursed, turning my back on him.
Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!
I mentally slapped my cheeks as I tried to walk over to grab a bottle of water on his nightstand table.
“My Queen,” Prescott called, he grabbed my arm and turned me over to face him. “What is the matter?” his hot breath on my face made my fantasy go wild.
I gulped, staring at his lips as they moved up and down as he spoke. I was getting dangerously heated as the only thing on my mind was to have a taste of his lips.
“I want to…”
“You know what?” Prescott cleared his throat, cutting me off my speech, “You stay here and wait for me. I will come back later, even before you know it, I would love to hear everything that’s going on in your head when I come back.” He smiled, lowered his face and planted a kiss on my forehead.
I couldn’t say anything as he straightened back on his feet. He turned around and walked out of the room.
My legs gave out the moment he walked out of the room, I fell on my knees, staring into space as what I wanted to say to him came back to haunt me.
Why the hell was I caught up with his lips? Why the fuck did I want to ask him to kiss me? Why the fuck was I thinking about kissing when everyone was out there, fighting for our safety?
I placed a palm on my chest, feeling my heart thumping hard against my chest.
“Fuck it! I’m going crazy!” I groaned, sitting on the floor with my palm rubbing my chest.
My hand slid to my lap and my fingers brushing against my gut reminded me of his dick…
“Oh, shit! Shit!” I cried out, brushing my head in my hands as I felt my cheeks heated up at that silly thought.
