Chapter 97
Gradel
Still basking in the euphoria of last night’s passionate session, I didn’t know when the door of the cell broke open. Iris was right about the drink because I felt stronger and for the first time in several days, I could sense the activeness of my wolf.
A burden had been lifted off my shoulders and I sighed in relief. However, my moment of reprieve was cut short as a group of men trouped into the cell.
I glanced sideways, staring at them skeptically with a scowl on my face. They had to know that I hated them as well.
“What do you want?” I questioned, my voice brimming with the authority they never expected to hear and they flinched, gazing at each other.
It felt so good to be myself again.
“You have decided to be a menace to our pack so we’ve come here to end you today,” The man at the front replied with a snarl.
I barked out a laugh, enjoying the looks of confusion on their faces. They were unaware that I’d gotten my strength back and I could beat them all hands down.
It would be fun to play a game with them and send their corpses to Elda.
“You think it’s that easy to kill the first son of Alpha Cronus Dai?” I asked them and stretched my hands to them. “Alright then. You can give it a trial,”
They exchanged glances, all of them hesitant to come closer. It was so interesting to see them standing in bewilderment, contemplating fighting me or returning to Elda with their tails between their legs.
I’d have loved them to attack me, after all, I hadn’t flexed my muscles in ages.
“Come on, I’m waiting,” I teased them.
Like fools, they barreled towards me and I managed to dodge their unaimed kicks and punches at the same time. And then I spun around, propping my arms against my waist.
“You shouldn’t have bothered,” I chuckled, darkly.
With a great speed that they didn’t see coming, I reached for the first man who tried to threaten me and pulled out his right arm from the socket. He groaned loudly in pain, holding onto his wounded shoulder.
The others, seeing how badly I treated their leader retreated with fear.
“Don’t allow him to escape. You know what the Alpha is going to do to our families if we don’t take care of him,” Their leader reminded them amidst the pain and his words struck a chord in my chest.
It was obvious that Elda had these men in a choke hold or they wouldn’t be risking their lives in this manner. Instantly, my brain flashed with a bright idea and I halted on my step.
“Do you think it makes any sense for me to kill you and have Elda kill your families as well?” I asked them, angrily. “I don’t know if you are aware, but if I kill you all, your wicked Alpha will still murder your families. Do you want to know why?”
They gave no response, but I continued. “That’s because, he’ll be angry that you failed woefully in the mission and since you aren’t alive to pay the price for your actions, your family will have to bear the brunt. I’m an Alpha, so you can take my word for it,”
The menacing and intimidating expression they had on their faces when they stepped into the cell switched to that of fear and realization.
“What are we going to do? My mate just gave birth?” One of them inquired.
Feeling satisfied with their response, I said. “Join me and together we’ll end Elda’s evil reign,”

Iris’ POV
“Elda, please, I’m sorry for betraying you and I’m willing to pay the price for my disobedience. Just leave her out of it,” I pleaded, trying to keep my emotions from sprawling out.
I couldn’t afford to shed tears right now.
He sat on the bed and crossed his leg over the other, wearing a fiery gaze. “Should I say it’s too late to plead with me? I suspected you when you agreed to become my Luna but I thought to give you the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, you proved me wrong and now, I’m having trust issues.” He made a sorry face. “How am I sure that you will satisfy me the way that I want after allowing my useless cousin to drill life out of you? I want someone fresh and you’re not that woman,”
The strong cord that was used to tie me up cut into my wrist as I tried to stand up but I didn’t allow that to deter me.
“Please, Elda, look at me. I know that your feelings for me are still there and I’m the same woman you liked. Just send her away and you can take me anyhow that you want. I won’t object, just let her go…” I trailed off, my voice cracking.
“No, Iris. I’m an adult and I can decide for myself what I want. If he wants me, then he’ll have me. I’m grateful and happy to have a strong woman like you who isn’t afraid of this beast standing in front of me. I’m sure that our true Alpha will come to save us soon,” Hazel replied.
I shook my head, my heart plummeting with trepidation. Why did she have to make things worse?
Elda stood up and walked over to her, grabbing a fistful of her hair and pulling it hard so that her screams echoed in his room.
“You should know when to use your mouth, girl. I’m your Alpha and you will respect me. Iris, didn’t you teach her how to treat me in her ranks than her?” He glanced at me.
“Please, let her go. Ignore whatever she said,”
Hazel snorted and glared at him. “He shouldn’t ignore my words because I’m not afraid of him,”
He was about to reply when a knock sounded on the door, causing him to let go of her hair. “Speak,” He ordered.
“Gradel is dead. We have killed and disposed of your body as you asked,”
