Chapter 96
Iris
My eyes locked with his and cold chills ran down my spine. We weren’t close enough for me to see through the bland look in his eyes, but with the way his lips were pursed, I knew that he wasn’t pleased.
“Good morning, Elda. I hope you had a great night,” I chirped, trying to ease the tension.
He drew in a deep breath and got up from his armchair. “Did you sleep in your room last night?” He asked with a strange low tone.
I tilted my head to the side, throwing an offended look at him. “My room, of course. Where should I have slept?” I shot back with a placid tone.
“I thought the same too, but, surprisingly, you were missing from your room when I came to look for you,” He questioned and blood drained from my face.
Even my heart stopped beating for a second.
This wasn’t the time to prove his claims by being nervous, but how couldn’t I have seen this coming? I thought I had it all under control. Or did he send someone to stalk me?
I scratched my neck and giggled. “Well, I stepped out for a while because the room suddenly became hot. That’s all,” I replied curtly and trotted towards him, seductively. “Come on, Elda. Did you miss me that much?” I sat on his lap and loosened the drawstring of my robe, revealing my scantily clad body.
He bit his lower lip and grabbed my thighs. “I don’t know what to think, Iris, because I returned home from a long day and all I wanted was you so I thought, why don’t I come and have a good time with my Luna? Did you know how heartbroken I was to not have seen your beautiful body on the bed?” His placid expression turned cynical.
“I’m so sorry, Elda. If I’d known that you’d search for me, I’d have stayed back.” I imploded.
He nodded as if he agreed, his grip getting tight on my thighs. “I wanted to return to my room and cuddle my pillow to sleep but I decided to quench my curiosity by taking a walk around like I thought you’d be doing. I haven’t seen Gradel in a while so I strolled to the cell only to meet the shock of my life,”
Oh no! I was done for.
I tried to move away from him but he trained a deadly scowl on me, warning me silently with his eyes not to attempt what was on my mind.
“I felt my ears were deceiving me when I heard your moans but then, I found him ramming into you furiously and you encouraged him to continue. You gave your body to the man I hate so much. Why, Iris?”
My body shuddered involuntarily and I palmed my hands together while he ripped my robe off. “He’s my mate, Elda. I couldn’t help what happened last night,” I whispered in my defense.
He shook his head and carried me forcefully, dumping me onto the bed. “That’s understandable,” He replied curtly, “But I hope you will also pardon what I’m about to do right now,” He unbuckled his belt, exposing the huge bulge underneath his briefs.
My eyes squinted in confusion as I crawled backward until my back hit the headboard. “No, Elda. Please don’t do this. I promise it won’t happen again,” I pleaded.
I couldn’t allow him to violate me and taint the beautiful memories I just shared with Gradel.
“Oh, I know it won’t happen again because I will not allow it.” He barked and snapped his fingers.
Immediately, the door opened and Hazel was thrown into the room. She fell on the floor with her clothes ripped off her body. I sprang off the bed and rushed to her.
Elda licked his lips and stripped until he was left in just his underwear. “Her name is Hazel, right? She looks so beautiful
I can’t wait to have a taste of her,” He gazed at her with an intimidating and lustful look while she clung to me.
“Please, don’t allow him to do this to me,” She cried.
I cupped her cheeks to console her. “We have to be strong, Hazel. We can’t let him hurt us. We’ll fight him together and get out of here,”
A loud chuckle interrupted us and when I turned around, four guards had already stormed into the room with mean and unsmiling faces.
They headed straight to me and tied my hands and feet to prevent me from fighting. Then they moved to Hazel who tried to bolt out of the room.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” He bellowed, his eyes burning with lust.
“Let her go, you animal,” I screamed. “You won’t see the end of this, I promise you. Gradel and Hegar will kill you with their bare hands once they find you,” I threatened him but it seemed like my words were falling on deaf ears because he was still intent on sleeping with Hazel.
He dragged her from the door that the guards had obstructed and dropped her like a sack of potatoes on the bed.
“You shouldn’t have tried to keep Eliana away from me, Iris. I understand that you were trying to protect her but next time, don’t try to meddle with my affairs. This pack belongs to me and so does every woman in it. I can get anyone that I want and none of you can stop me,” He smirked evilly.
A bitter snicker left my mouth. “Is that what leadership is to you? Fixing your dick into every hole just to satisfy your depraved cravings? I understand that your father was murdered unjustly and you might have lived a terrible life, but it shouldn’t define you, Elda. Aren’t you interested in making a difference?”
He snorted and rolled his eyes. “Difference, indeed,” He replied derisively. “Everyone is the same, Iris. We all have that depravity and obscene thoughts that we want to satiate and your perfect mate isn’t any different. It’s just that I’m the only one bold enough to go through with it.”
“You’re sick,” I spat in rage.
“I know, sweetheart, and I’m going to show you how sick I am. By the way, you’d better remain quiet because your precious mate won’t be coming to save you. I discovered that he hasn’t been taking the poison as you said so I’ve sent my sentinels to bring him down. Soon, he’ll be dead meat,”
Bile rose through my throat, my chest tightened painfully and my body shook with panic. If what he said was true then Gradel was currently under attack and there’d be no one to save him.
