AKIRA’s POV.
I sat on my bed, staring blankly into space, my mind blurry, my head spinning like crazy but somehow I did not fall off the bed. I didn’t know how I got there or what happened before. Everything felt weird, my head was foggy, and it was like a dream that I couldn’t wake up from. But it wasn’t a dream, was it? It felt too real, too vivid, everything was there.
I tried to remember, but my mind was blank and my brain refused to help. Panic started to set in as I tried very hard to join pieces of what happened. Why did I feel like I was in a trance? Why did I feel so unusual and weird like I was not myself?
“Think, Akira, think,” I muttered to myself, trying to shake off the fear that now took control of my mind. But the more I tried to remember, the more my head hurt.
I stood up, deciding to clear my head with a trip to the bathroom. Maybe some cold water on my face would help me snap out of this trance-like state. As I walked in, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. And froze. My blood ran cold and my throat became tight and dry.
My eyes widened in horror as I took in my reflection. My clothes were stained with blood, and my hair was scattered, like I had been through a war. I looked like a completely different person, a person I didn’t recognize.
“Wh-what is this?” I whispered but it seemed the voice didn’t reach my ears.
Panic set in, my heart beating twice as fast. What happened to me? Why was I covered in blood? Did I hurt someone? Did someone hurt me?
I tried to remain calm, taking slow, deep breaths. “Think, Akira, think.”
“Try to remember something, anything”.
But my mind was a complete blank. Nothing came to me. No memories, no explanations.
“Fuck it!” I hissed, getting frustrated at this point.
I stared at my reflection, searching for answers. But my eyes just stared back, nothing came out.
“This is just a nightmare. Go take a bath and if it still feels real, you are cooked.” The voice in my head whispered, almost like it was taunting me.
Just as I stepped into the bathroom, I heard the door behind me open. I turned to see a maid walking in with a tray of food. But her eyes widened in horror as she saw me.
“Help!” she screamed, dropping the tray. Food and dishes shattered on the floor as she stumbled backward, her hands flying to her mouth.
I stood there, frozen, as she turned and ran out of the room, still screaming. “Help! Someone, please help! Akira is.. she’s covered in blood. She looks like she has lost it. Our Luna!”
Her cries echoed in the hallway, growing distant as she ran. I stood there, still trying to process what was happening. Why was I covered in blood? What did I do?
The sound of footsteps echoed outside my room, growing louder with each passing second. I knew I had to do something, but I didn’t know what. I was still trying to wrap my head around everything.
I looked down at my clothes, at the bloodstains that seemed to increase with each passing second. What did I do?
The door burst open, and a group of guards rushed in, their faces worried. “Akira- Luna, what’s wrong?” one of them asked, rushing to my side.
But I just shook my head. I didn’t know. I didn’t know what was wrong, or what had happened. All I knew was that I was covered in blood, and I didn’t know why.
“Akira, what’s wrong?” one of them asked, scanning the room as if searching for an intruder or something that was well hidden.
I stood frozen, my mind still reeling from the maid’s reaction. “I… I don’t know,” I stammered, gesturing to my bloodstained clothes. “I don’t know what happened. I was sitting over there,” I said, pointing to my bed. “Then it felt like someone snapped his fingers and I was taken out of a trance-like state. I do not know what happened to me. Trust me.”
The guards exchanged uneasy glances.
Just then, another guard entered, a big black wolf with a scar above his left eyebrow. “Akira, you need to come with us. The Council has summoned you. And you can not refuse or delay.”
My blood turned cold at the mention of the council. “What’s going on?” I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady but I failed as my voice cracked with tears at the end.
The guard’s expression turned grim. “You’re accused of murder, Akira. Please, come with us.”
I shook my head, trying to clear the fog that suddenly settled there. “No, that’s not possible. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Murder? I have been in my room all day, I did not even step out for one second. Then how can you accuse me of murder? I did not kill anyone.”
But the guard was insistent and unyielding. He reached out to grab my arm, his grip firm and painful. I tried to pull away, but he held tight.
Just as he was about to drag me out of the room, a deep, authoritative voice was heard from the doorway. “Leave her.”
The guard froze, his head turning up to face the speaker. I followed his gaze, my heart skipping a beat as I saw Kael standing in the doorway, his eyes blazing with rage.
The guard immediately freed my arm and stepped back.
“I’m sorry my alpha but the council has demanded that she should be taken to them for proper interrogation.” The guard said, giving an alibi for his actions.
“I said leave!” Kael hissed and turned to face me.
