Keiran’s POV.
I sat in the shadows, my eyes fixed on my partner, Kaida. We were in a secluded spot, far from the eyes and ears of third and unwanted parties. Our mission was clear: to bring down Kael and Akira, and take my rightful place as leader and for Kaida, getting back at the witch who killed her mother with black magic.
“Kaida, we need to be smart about this,” I said, my voice low but audible. “We can’t just barge in and start causing chaos. We need a plan. I know my brother, he is not a man you would want to trifle with.”
Kaida nodded, her eyes shining with excitement. “I’ve been thinking about that, Keiran. And I have a few ideas.”
I leaned in, my ears up. “Let’s hear them.”
Kaida smiled, a mischievous look in her eye. “First, we spread rumors. We tell the pack that Akira is weak, that she’s not fit to be Luna. We tell them that Kael is blind to her flaws and that he’s making a mistake by trusting her. There should be some pack laws we can use to our advantage too, laws that prohibit the king from being with an omega.”
I nodded, a plan forming in my mind. “And then?”
“And then, we start stealing food from the pack’s storage,” Kaida continued. “We make it look like it’s just careless mistakes, but really, we’re the ones behind it. The pack will start to get hungry, and they’ll begin to doubt Kael’s ability to provide for them. But before that, we have to make sure he assigns that part of the pack to Akira, killing two birds with one stone.”
I grinned. “And finally?”
Kaida’s smile grew wider. “We vandalize pack property. We make it look like it’s just random acts of violence, but really, we’re the ones behind it. The pack will be on edge, and they’ll start to turn on each other. Especially the guards, we will weaken them from the inside.”
I nodded, a sense of satisfaction washing over me. “Perfect. Let’s get started.”
Kaida grinned, and we both went our separate ways, ready to put our plan into action. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we were determined to bring down Kael and Akira and get our revenge for the wrongs that we unjustly suffered.
Over the next few days, we spread our rumors, stole food from the pack’s storage, and vandalized pack property. And just as we had planned, the pack began to turn on each other. They started to doubt Kael’s leadership, and slowly but surely we spread the word that Kael was lagging off because of his new Luna, Akira.
But what we hadn’t suspected was Akira’s sharp mind. She started to suspect that something was wrong, and she began to investigate. Kaida who knew Akira more than I did warned we had to be careful, or she would discover our plan and expose us to the pack.
“Akira’s getting close,” Kaida warned me one day, her voice low but the urgency there was undeniable. “We need to be careful.”
I nodded. “I know. Let’s keep a low profile for now. We don’t want to draw attention to ourselves. Akira is a smart one, I see.”
Kaida nodded, but just then, we heard footsteps behind us.
A strange scent hit my nose, making me recoil in disgust. But Kaida quickly got used to the scent and signaled me to stay quiet.
“Come out… I got weapons and I am not afraid to use them.” Akira’s Loud voice threatened.
I could feel Kaida’s body trembling with rage, but I placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“I got this.” Was the last thing that came out of my mouth before Akira came out and stood in front of me:
“You… how easy.” She spat, her eyes glowing in the dark.
Kaida took a step forward, her hackles raised to attack but I raised a finger and took two steps forward.
“Akira,” I said, my voice gentle and calm. “What brings you here?”
Akira’s eyes narrowed, her legs poised behind her in a defensive pose. “I know you who are and why you are here, I know what you’ve been doing, Keiran. I know you’ve been spreading rumors, stealing food, and vandalizing pack property. You are trying to ruin Kael and you are using such cheap and disgusting means!”
I raised an eyebrow, faking innocence. “Whatever are you talking about, Akira?”
Akira’s eyes blazed with anger. “Don’t play dumb, Keiran. I will find proof. And I’m going to expose you to the pack.”
“I think you’ll find that your threat of getting proof is… lacking,” I said, a smirk spreading across my face.
Akira’s eyes narrowed, and for a moment her composure faltered. “What do you mean?”
I shrugged, my shoulders. “Let’s just say that we have… friends who are willing to vouch for us.”
Akira took a step forward. “Who are these friends?”
I smiled, my eyes glinting with triumph. “Oh, just a few pack members who are willing to testify on our behalf. We are good kids..” I mocked.
Akira’s eyes went downcast. “What do you mean? Few pack members?”
I chuckled, my voice low. “Proof can be… misleading. And our friends are very convincing.”
Akira took a step forward. “This isn’t over, Keiran. I’ll find a way to expose you. Now I am more than determined to tell Kael about this and watch him rip your face off!”
I smiled, revealing my teeth. “I’m shaking, I am so scared, Akira. But until then, I think we’ll take our leave, we have important things to do you see.”
And with that, Kaida and I turned and walked away, leaving Akira standing there.
Stop! Where are you going, Keiran?” Akira called out, her voice a loud harsh sound.
I turned back to her, a smirk spreading across my face. “Oh, just a little meeting with some… friends. Nothing for you to worry about, Akira.”
Akira’s eyes narrowed, and she let out a low growl. “Who are these friends? What are you planning?”
I laughed heartily, my laughter reverberating through the forest. “That’s for me to know, and you to find out. But don’t worry, Akira. You’ll learn soon enough.”
“What are you up to!” Akira lashed out at me, her hackles raised for attack.
I took a good look at the she wolf in front of me.
“It’s easy…”
