Chapter 23

CANDACE POV
I shut my door and rested against it, thousands of thoughts kept running through my head, could not process how I was feeling. Losing Tristen to his new Luna is not part of my plans, I want him all to myself and rewrite the stars with him, my curiosity isn’t left out on how she became all close to his daughter, that was fast I must admit… Talking of Tammy, she’s spoiled and rude, and his so-called Luna even got to expose her nanny and I’m feeling all cozy around him with the title of being a mistress!
He defended her and still won’t pay attention to me. Why do I feel like what happened between the Alpha and her is likely to create a strong bond? Especially since they already made out. I kept thinking about how her moans echoed in every corner of the crowded hallway.
“Darn it! I just want to scream my lungs out,” I mumbled, flopping back on my bed. My room door swung open, and my friends walked in… Oh, please, not that sarcastic walk, I thought.
Honey cleared her throat “The Alpha is getting himself free with his so-called new Luna… Though you said you got yourself in already.” Honey asked, taking over the empty chair adjacent to the room. With no reaction on my face, I stare at the two girls as they quietly do the same.
“A new Luna was announced. What do you want me to do? Fight the moon goddess?” I asked, rolling my eyes at them both.
“We are not asking you to do that; you can simply do it again, just like how you did it last time-”
“I seethed at Jessica, reminding her that we agreed to keep that as a top secret!”
“Candace, please control your anger,” Honey intervened. “We are only trying to claim what is rightfully yours, with no ulterior motives.”
“Still! That was top secret. A third party can’t hear this else we are doomed! Last time girls!” I asked.
“Last time!” They chorused.
“So what’s your plan?” Jessica asked while Honey nodded along.
“Same as the last, we get Luna out of the way!” I utter pulling the duvet into the air. I turned around to look at my friends and we winked…
“This will be fun.” I giggled, getting excited about my great adventure which was getting close already.
“Do you want to spend quality time with us in the garden? We want to head there?” Jessica asked as she walked behind Honey…
“Of course…” I responded with excitement on my face as I got off the bed.
IN THE GARDEN
I pulled out a chair, and sat down… The weather was cool as the sky slowly kept getting dark, giving the moon to shine as it was the time…
“Should I get close to Luna and dig out some dirt on her.” I bluntly uttered those words because I had them in my mind. I just want Davina out of my way and out of the picture.
“You mean those words?” Honey asked with a curious side-eye.
“I ain’t joking. I just want this girl out of my way and out of the picture I’m- you should think of something else, not that!” Jessica cut in.
“Why?!” That was a fast response.
“You mean, you want to get close to her and know if there’s dirt or some kind of shit on her and abandon us for the whole time you are trying to get close, or should I say dig up dirt! You can’t be serious!!!!” Jessica uttered those words with a furious expression… I took a moment to stare at the two before talking…
“We understand that- you girls don’t!” I cut in…
“Candace!” Honey yelled and took a deep breath and tried to calm her nerves.
“You’re not getting it right. Please stop with your selfish attitude,” Honey blurted out.
“So, you’re saying that I’m being selfish right now?!?” I yell with rage.
“No, Candace, we understand that you want this whole thing done, but at the same time, you can’t abandon all of us just to get her out of the way,” Honey said warmly.
“Do you think you can handle the entire process by yourself? Really?” Jessica seemed extremely angry and unconvinced.
“Jessica, just calm down, okay? Let me talk to her,” Honey said, casting a glare at me, to which I responded with a quick eye roll.
“What are your plans?” Honey asked, and I responded with a charming and cheesy smile.
“My plans are twofold, but you girls won’t let me explain before getting mad!” I rolled my eyes.
“Those eye rolls don’t necessarily indicate mature behavior, but rather a frivolous attitude.”
“Jessica!” Honey shouted.
“”What? That’s the bitter truth,” Jessica exclaimed with a disdainful look. “She can do better than that, not something immature!”
I chuckle as I stare at her. Just moments ago, she was making a big fuss about my suggestion, and now she’s behaving nonchalantly.
Girls, no arguments, please. We are mature. Candace, what are your plans?
“How about we handle this the same way we did with Tammy’s mom? Or maybe I should try to gain her trust by getting closer to her,” I mumbled, returning my gaze to them.
“First, gaining her trust is going to take some time, but we both know that time is not on our side. I’m not sure if we have enough time, but you want her out of the way as soon as possible. So, it’s not going to happen that quickly,” Jessica suggested, and I nodded in agreement because I wanted her out of the picture.
“Even if you suddenly want to be nice, don’t you think Alpha will be curious about what you have up your sleeve? I’m sure she’s not naive enough to believe that you want to be nice all of a sudden unless she wants to play along and expose you, the way she did the Nanny.” Honey added, then I took a deep breath, trying to see things from their perspective, especially Honey’s take on Tristan’s thoughts about my attitude.
“Damn!” I exclaimed…
“So, what’s your take?” Honey asked. I looked at her and then shifted my gaze to Jessica.
“The same process we used to get Tammy’s mom out of the way,” I mumbled.
“Honey mumbled, ‘Black magic?’ and I nodded.
“Great! That’s a great shot. Simple and fast!” Jessica giggled and I shrugged off at her…
“I can’t wait to get it all done!” I thought with my eyes up to the sky.
