Chapter 14
TRISTAN’S POV
For Seconds, I stood and watched how happy Tammy was with her, her smile was contagious, she went into hiding and the search went ongoing. I got lost staring at them but Grey snapped me back to reality.
“Still want to consider our mate again?” He asked, feeling curious about what my response would be.
“No, she’s only going to be the Luna of Golden Stone pack-
“Still ignoring that inner flame and you know I can feel your pain and happiness. We are one, there’s nothing you can hide, and from what I feel anytime you see Davina is different, I won’t call it love but I feel you want to consider her, get to know her, grow a bond-
“What bond? I’m not growing any bond with anyone, I’m not sure I can be open the way I was in the past.” I responded truthfully. The fear of getting betrayed is eating me up and I don’t want to grow through that pain again.
“It’s been a long you smiled genuinely at a lady, and you just did with our mate. Consider Davina, Tristan. Lexie said she’s naive and she cares more for your daughter… Grey uttered, trying so hard to convince me.
“You have been meeting her wolf without my permission,” I asked, almost screaming in my head
“Don’t start, I don’t know how to suppress the bond. Lexie and I are cool and you are making it difficult with Davina.” Grey explained and I rolled my eyes, taking steps closer to the heart of the garden. He stopped talking and I guess he slipped to the back of my mind.
Juanita gasped after she made eye contact with me, to show her respect, she bowed at me, and I raised my hand, the insignificance of not causing a distraction.
“Excuse us!” I ordered and they bowed, taking their leave. In space of a few seconds, she knew I was in the garden and her fear grew seconds after seconds.
“Why is she scared?!” I thought, staring at her trembling legs. Gosh! She’s making it obvious. Tammy was quietly in her hiding place and I was waiting for Davina to start her search but she stood still, not moving an inch.
“You created fear in her already, that’s not a good start if you are to consider her,” Grey growled and I snapped him to the back of my mind.
“Let me breathe grey, stop meddling, and let me make a good decision with a good intention at least,” I said in my head. I badly wish I could yell those words out. What a pest on his host?!
“I can smell your fear!” I uttered calmly, her fears skyrocketed! I could hear her heartbeats, beating so fast. My face squeezed up a bit. Her fears! They are making me feel guilty! I didn’t like how I was feeling but the closer I got to her, the stronger it got.
I brought my face forward, my breath hitting her neck and she stood still, not moving.
“Oh, moon goddess!” She prayed and I chuckled, slowly wrapping my arms around her waist. This should calm her a bit, but I was wrong. I was wrong, she burst into tears right in front of me.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” She uttered those words repeatedly. I unwrapped my arms and faced her. Her eyes were shut tightly, tears were streaming down her cheeks as she kept saying sorry.
“What are you sorry for?” I find myself asking her this.
“I’m sorry.” She pleaded again as she opened her eyes to stare at me.
“I couldn’t bear seeing her in tears, that’s why I followed her here.” She uttered, playing with her fingers as she stared at her feet.
“Look at me, Davina,” I instructed and she did.
“What are you sorry for?” I asked, staring at her tiny eyes, with her full lashes, down to her lips and jaw area were so perfect. Her nose was pointed, making her face look so innocent.
Why didn’t I notice this before?
“I’m sorry for spending time with Tammy after being instructed not to, I’m sorry Alpha Tristan!” She stuttered, avoiding my face. All this while she was talking, my mind wasn’t with her fully, her lips, were moving in a fast rhythm. She was almost close to biting her tongue and I chuckled within.
“You are sorry for spending time with my daughter?” I asked to be sure I heard her right.
“Yes, I’m sorry. I went against your instruction-
“Stop this “you are sorry.” of a thing.” I cut her off and she nodded. Seconds of silence descended, it was taking forever and I decided to break the silence.
“Make up for going against my instruction.” I teased and her face widened.
(Trembling) “What should I do?” Her face looked so innocent and I chuckled, I find her naive part so enjoyable.
“Come closer.”
“Huh!” Her face changed, the switch in her facial expression was killing me.
“You heard me right!” My authoritative voice did.
“Yes. She responded and got so close.
“I want to feel your breath, so get close,” I mumbled and she did as she was instructed. Our face, almost touching and her heart kept beating so fast.
“How fearful is my name to your ears?” I teased, uttering those words in her ear and her body was responding.
“Alpha Tristan of Golden Stone Pack! The Alpha that doesn’t talk twice, The alpha with a glowing green eyeball when angry! The Alpha of strength and wealth, Alpha-
“When did you learn all this?!” I smiled, staring down and deep into her eyes.
“This was the praises that were circulating outside the pack.” She whispered. Humbly I felt satisfied at how she rang the praises in my ear.
“And there you are!” Her tiny voice came up, so loud and furious!
Meanwhile, Davina, almost fell to the ground after Tammy’s voice came out of nowhere but I was smart and fast enough to catch her in the middle of it and we ended up falling together. I fell on her and she whimpered when my forehead collided with hers…
“A kiss on your forehead should ease the pain?” I jokingly asked, still not taking my eyes off her.
“GET OFF HER!”
