KENDRA’S POV
I looked around the battleground, and there was no sign of Dawn. I saw her fighting just now with two other wolves, but now I cannot see her again.
I went to the last spot where I saw her, and there, the two wolves lay, lifeless.
Mia’s wolf walked up behind me, she too was wondering where Dawn was.
We found our way out of the battleground, wading off the wolves that tried to attack us, and leaving them lifeless.
We sniffed around for the scent of Lara and Dawn until we finally got to where Dawn was, but the sight before us left us petrified. Dawn was in her human form, and lying on the ground was an almost lifeless Lara. She was looking all pale and dried up. Her body was completely white like someone with no blood left.
I quickly shifted to my human form. “Why would you do this, Dawn, you know just how dangerous it is?” I asked in a low and frightened tone.
“She passed out. Her blood was drained from her, she was going to die out there” she replied nervously.
“But then you should have alighted one of us. No one must see you like this, you know what that entails” I said.
Oh my goodness, what was she even thinking?
“I was very careful” she replied.
“Please shift back right now. I will place Lara on Mia’s wolf, and she knows how to get her to the palace safely” I requested.
Without any further altercations, she did as she was told and I lifted Lara and placed her on Mia’s wolf and she immediately ran off, keeping to the bush path.
Seeing that Lara had been taken to safety, Dawn and I left and returned to the fight.
DAWN’S POV
With Mia taking Lara to safety, I and Kendra returned back to the battlefield in our wolf form. Seeing the state of the battle, Kendra immediately charged into it, tearing any enemy wolf that she came across. So many of our wolves are getting lifeless as a result of losing enough blood.
I was still trying to fully recollect myself and launch into the battle when an enemy wolf drew close to my back. It bites into my flesh and when I made to maneuver it, it ran off. I was surprised to discover that it was taking the route out of Pixolands, and running away from the battle, back to where they came from.
At first, I wanted to go after it, but what good would going after a retreating wolf do? So I changed my mind and rushed off to fight those that are still here.
After a few minutes, the men from Wild Cloak arrived and immediately launched into battle. With more arsenal on our side, the battle got fiercer.
Not too long, some of our footmen came, led by the Chamlee.
The Chamlee was enraged by the sight he met. So many of his armies lying on the ground almost lifeless. And immediately he instructed his men to take the bodies back to the palace and tend to them. And one by one, their almost lifeless bodies were moved out of the field.
The Chamlee fought like a wounded lion. I could never imagine that he would be this good with his hands. He ripped the stomachs of the wolves apart with his bare hands and tore their mouths open. He roared and cried as he did this, moving from one wolf to the other. The wolves were no match for him.
CHAMLEE’S POV
Seeing Lara’s body almost lifeless was the anger that I needed for this battle. They were lucky that she was going to survive it. I was deeply enraged and all that I needed was to kill each one of the wolves from Diamond Cut, one by one.
I arrived at the battleground and the sight that met me was a gruesome one. The enemies were bent on draining out the blood from my wolves, one by one.
The warriors from Wild Cloak were already here and were not taking it easy on the enemies. They fought with all they had as if their lives depended on it.
I ordered my men to take away the bodies of our wounded men, they needed to be attended to immediately to stop the blood that was flowing endlessly.
Seeing that my men had been taken away, I launched into the battle with great force, tearing at the enemies and ripping their stomachs open.
I fought tirelessly with my bare hands and the wolves were no match for me. They have invaded my land and so must feel my wrath.
The fight went on into the night. The enemies were losing their hold on us and our side was gradually taking over the fight. We put in our all into the fight, eager to shield our land from the impostors. We were winning the fight and sending more lifeless bodies of the enemies to the ground.
Just in the twinkling of an eye, three wolves circled me. It was already late by the time I saw them. They growled as they looked fiercely at me, their eyes raging with death.
I looked around me and tried not to panic. Everyone was engaged in their different battle and none noticed what was happening to me.
I am no fool, I know that attempting to fight these wolves alone would be stepping into a death trap with open eyes. I have no chance against them.
I would have to devise a means to take on them. I will look for a way to distract them and keep them from attacking me.
I began to circle around, wading off their attack but this did not last too long as one of the wolves launched at me.
He jumped high in the air and used his paws to push me down on the floor. The other two followed immediately, all of them eager and ready to see my end.
Even with how helpless I already was, I fought with all I’ve got, stopping them from getting a hold of vital parts of my body. I pushed and kicked and tried to free myself from their hold but it was not possible.
It was as if this struggle would go on forever.
Before I knew what was happening, one of the wolves already had his teeth on my neck and was ready to bite. I struggled and tried to move my neck away. However, another of the wolves held tightly on my neck to stop me from moving my neck. I used my hands and tried to push them away but I could not.
I was losing great strength and zeal and was almost about to give up when I felt the wolves pull away from me. I opened my eyes to see that it was Dawn’s wolf that had come to my rescue.
She fought the wolves and before I knew it, the wolves were lying lifeless beside me.
The fight continued with our side gradually taking over the fight and winning. Little by little, the wolves from Diamond Cut began to retreat leaving their wounded and dead soldiers behind.
They have seen that remaining here would only mean death to them and so they stick to a clever choice. Leaving and staying alive.
The wolves with vampire blood chased after the retreating wolves, attacking and killing as much as they could.
It was a battle well fought, one that we all put our best into.
