RICH’S POV
We were standing on the podium looking over the soldiers. They filled the field like grains of sand, uncountable. Standing on the podium are Scarlet, Chamlee, Lord Nathan, Moorso, and me.
Lord Nathan has brought his armies with him. They are fearless and look very intimidating. Now I know that getting the rogues to fight by our side is the best decision.
We know that the armies of Diamond Cut are great and should not be looked down upon, but with the rogues by our side, we have an edge. We would go after them fearlessly and bring down their armies in no time.
Scarlet stood firmly and elegantly, facing that crowd. She is here to address us on that upcoming battle with the people of Diamond Cut Pack.
She waited for everyone to settle in before she began.
“My fearless, brave, and extremely determined armies” she began.
She spoke with so much prowess and determination. Determined to take down those she once addressed as hers.
“The is no news that Diamond Cut has pulled the strings and has brought war upon us. But for what we are known for, we will not chicken out. We have no shell to coil into” she paused, letting her words sink in the heart of all present.
She growled. “We will prepare for war, everyone. The rogues are on our side now and are very much prepared and willing to fight fearlessly by our side” Scarlet said in a loud voice.
The crowd erupted with joys and jubilations and our soldiers moved around in the crowd, hugging and saying welcome to their rogues’ counterparts. Everyone was happy with the new state of affairs.
The sight before us was tremendous. and was great to behold. Screams of triumph filled the air.
In happiness, I found my way to Lord Nathan and held him in a cheerful grip. He returned the gesture in gladness and then went over to Moorso and Chamlee who were equally so happy to give him a hug. He stopped in front of Scarlet and bowed. Seeing him, she giggled and pulled him close to her in a tight hug. She finally patted his back and released her grip.
It was a great union and hopefully, this alliance will last for generations to come.
Scarlet did not try to stop the excited soldiers, she let them continue and waited patiently for the noise to die down.
Each soldier welcomed as many allies as he could and when they were done, they found their way back to the lines.
For a moment, with all the jubilations, it felt as if we had already won the war against Diamond Pack. Of course, that is what is going to happen. We have no doubt how our Chamlar feels about this war, and so we are ready to come back to her, bearing the flag of victory.
“I can see you all are in full spirits and I am happy about that. Just like I said, we would match against Diamond Cut fearlessly and we would not stop until we bring them down, sparing no one as we go. It should be left in shambles, and their leaders in shackles” She paused a while. “We the Pixies are peace-loving people, but we do not flee from wars. They challenged us to it, and they must be shown no mercy” she yelled.
I could see the rage vibrating all over her body as she spoke. She speaks and breathes fire and venom and even I trembled by mere looking at her.
She growled and the ground shook terribly. But the soldiers did not falter, they stood gallantly on their foot with a fierce expression on their faces. It could be seen that their minds were in tandem with hers, joined to her fury.
She growled a second time, this time not as loud as the first. “You will continue your training without stopping. You will all be fully fortified for the battle. Should any of you be ill, even in the slightest, or not prepared to go immediately, such persons would remain here and would be used as re-enforcement should there be the need for that” She paused and took a step forward.
Everywhere was as quiet as the graveyard as we all listened to our queen address us.
“Should you feel tired on the battlefield, do well to return to camp immediately. If after treatment you are declared fit, you will be sent back to the battlefield. But if otherwise, you will have to return home with honours” she stopped.
She signed and gazed at the soldiers. “I will not want to lose even one of you in this fight. Diamond Cut Pack is not worth any of your life. I cherish each and every one of you and remaining safe is a gift you all owe me”
Everywhere erupted with shouts from the soldiers. Most of them were intrigued and found it strange that their leader would care so much for their lives hence the scream of happiness.
“You are all special, never forget that” she yelled, and the shouts skyrocketed.
A smile appeared on her face as she watched their invaluable reactions. She cared for each one of her soldiers as a mother would care for their babies.
“Okay… okay… okay” she called out when the shouts seemed to be on the increase and like magic, the sounds died down at once.
She smiled again. “We should all know that Diamond Cut Pack would implore a lot of strategies in this battle. Don’t expect them to come at you like your usual opponents. They have a flair for putting their enemies off guard and bringing them to their knees with their careful and clever tactics…”
As she was making these revelations, I could feel the tension rise. Everyone waiting for a solution that she would proffer.
“… in order to beat them to these, we would be going into this fight as two different and distinct armies. One to be led by General Rich and the other by General Landon. The Pixies shall be under General Rich. He will train them on how to fight a rogue with hands and they would focus on soldiers that did not shift in the battle. The army under General Landon shall be the rogues. They will face the soldiers that shifted in the battle. These two will guard you on all you need to know” She stopped for a while.
I was amazed at her level of knowledge of the battlefields, especially in this issue of fighting with Diamond Cut Pack. No army has ever appeared to be too prepared for the armies of Diamond Cut Pack. But then, I remember she told me that her brothers, made her wait on them when they discussed their various unique strategies on the war front. Happily, that has come in handy as never would they have imagined that they would have to face that little fearful girl one day on the battlefield.
“You should never underestimate your opponent from Diamond Cut Pack, and you should all fight with your mind at alert. Should a wolf shift to a human when you are in a fight, don’t shift too. It is safer that one of our soldiers in a human form should take over than for the wolf to shift. Please never forget this even if you were to forget any other thing” she said.
There were little murmurs in the crowd as they all found it difficult to comprehend her order.
“The soldiers of Diamond Cut are very astute and this advice should go both ways. They have the ability to detect your strength and can tell in which form you fight better” she warned.
The soldiers nodded in agreement. Not even in a thousand years would they have been able to see through such tactics.
