CHAPTER 104 – SEEING OLD FRIENDS

Book:Luna Between Alphas Published:2024-10-27

LARA’S POV
My blood boiled as I looked at them. I felt like ripping off their fleshes and feeding their bones to the dog.
But then they have suffered enough karma, even though it was nothing compared to all they have done.
I heard they were banished from Black Moon and asked never to step foot on any of the brother Packs. And now they are here in Pixolands to seek refuge. What a shame.
My first impulse was to send them far away without listening to them. However, I am curious to find out what they did wrong, that is if they were going to be truthful. Anyways they have to be because only a fool would dare to lie before the great queen of Pixolands.
I motioned to Atoor and she walked up to me. “She should be without a veil” I ordered.
Violet had a veil covering her face and her body which I find quite strange. I would like to see what lies behind the veil.
“Take off the veil, you are standing before the great queen of Pixolands” Atoor ordered.
Violet was reluctant, she held on to the veil as though her entire existence depended on it. This act angered me.
‘Who is she to disobey the order of the queen’ I muffled. I was enraged and I wondered how I was able to restrain myself from yelling at her.
“Do take off the veil” Atoor requested one more time.
I didn’t wait for her to obey anymore, I signaled to the guard that was close to them, and he went to drag off the veil from her.
The action of the guard was unexpected, so Violet staggered as a result of the force that the guard applied and if not for Elise’s prompt intervention, she would have landed on the ground with great force.
“And who are you to refuse the order of the queen?” Tensa yelled.
“I… I am…” Violet stammered, hiding her face behind Elise.
“We are sorry, our queen” Elise quickly said.
Violet’s voice was scratchy and appalling. The sound of it causes the ear to ache. I have never heard anything like it. What has happened to her and why was she hiding behind Elise?
I looked at the guard again, and he quickly pulled her off Elise.
We all gasped and almost screamed out loud. She is a beast, worse than a monster. What happened to her? So many thoughts filled my mind.
I took my face away and with a wave of my hands, the terrified guard handed her veil to her and she covered her face in shame.
I felt like throwing up, we all felt like throwing up. Never in my entire existence have I seen someone as ugly as the lady before me.
No one was able to move or make out any word. Our disgust was evident. The terrible smell that oozed from her made the elders cover their noses. Why does she look this way and smell this bad?
I gave the servants some signs and they quickly brought out our strongest perfume to fill the air with it.
“We see you are traitors, spies sent to kill our queen” Moorso screamed pointing at them after the terrible smell had been absolved by the good smell.
At this, Violet and Elise fell on their knees.
“No, we are not. Kill us if we are. We are wanderers with nowhere to go and my friend here suffered a terrible burn” Elise pleaded.
“So what brings you to our land?” Moorso asked completely irritated by their presence.
Elise and Violet were filled with fear and were trembling terribly.
“We have been banished from our land” Elise replied in fear.
“And tell me why you should not also be banished from here at once?” Moorso ordered.
I could tell that Moorso had never been made to bear an atmosphere such as this. His face had turned red and his fists were clenched in anger.
“Please, have mercy on us, we have nowhere to go” Elise begged.
The whole place was quiet. We all stared at ourselves for some time.
Atoor finally spoke. “Why were you banished from your land?”
“And where are you from?” Tensa added sharply causing them to flinch.
“We are from Black Moon Pack, and…” Elise began but was cut short by the angry Moorso.
“What are your names morons?” Moorso barked.
“We are… our name is… sorry, my…” Elise stammered.
“I don’t have all day, fool” Moorso screamed at her.
“I am… Elise, and this is Violet” Elise stuttered.
“Okay” Atoor yelled for her to go on.
“We are from Black Moon Pa…”
“To hell with the Black Moon, tell us something else” Moorso was infuriated.
We have all run out of patience. Nevertheless, I watched as everything played out in front of me, desperate to leave this place at once and go somewhere with an uncorrupt air.
I would have stood up long ago and left, but the Pixies are known for giving everyone a fair hearing even when the fact that they don’t deserve such was glaring.
“We were banished from our Pack. We…” Elise hesitated for a moment but seeing that none of us was ready for her attitude, she went on. “We did something really terrible and the alpha banished us. But now we are sorry and looking for where to have a good start”
“The thing that you did, how terrible was it?” Atoor asked she was surprisingly calm.
“Violet here… no we pour some boiling water mixed with some dangerous substance on someone,” she said but quickly added. “We wanted to pour it on someone helpless, but it landed on Violet instead”
“I see” Atoor nodded.
“Is this all you’ve got?” Atoor asked.
“Yes, yes… we don’t have anything order thing on us, I swear we are harmless” Elise replied, causing Atoor to chuckle.
“Even if you have all the weapons you could weld, you will still be harmless before us,” she said. Her voice turned harsh immediately. “I said what do you have to offer, bitches?”
They both trembled and almost landed on the ground. Elise forced herself to stabilize before responding. “We could do anything, name it. We are ready to work for you, even be your slaves. Please don’t chase us out of here, we have nowhere to go” she begged.
“You will not be useful to us even as slaves” Atoor replied.
They were stunned. The words came to them as a surprise. I could hear their heartbeat and fears from the throne.
“No, no my queen, don’t do this to us… please pardon us” Elise begged and Violet joined too with her husky voice.
“And who are you to talk to our queen?” Moorso yelled, causing them to stop at once.
I heaved and everywhere became calm. I looked at Atoor and she moved over to me. I whispered my decision to her, and she walked back to her seat.
“The fact that we allowed you in here doesn’t make you qualified to talk to our queen” Tensa yelled.
“Please forgive us… please we are sorry… take us in please” Elise cried.
I could see their tears, I could feel their pain, and part of me wanted to soothe them and make it alright. They were helpless and kneeling at the feet of my throne begging for a home.
I sighed. The world truly is a small place. But then, what will Pixolands do with people like them?
I stood up and walked out of the hall, I heard Atoor say. “You are to leave Pixolands immediately. Never set your foot here again, and do not ever get close to our queen or you lose your lives”
I heard the loud wails of agony from them, but then, it was too late.
