ALPHA FRED’S POV
I was gazing at beta Tim, trying to see whether to agree with him on his proposition or not. Our Pack is the strongest Pack, of course with the alliance of the two brother Packs, Crystal Realms, and Black Moon.
But now it seems there has arisen another stronger, but since it is far away, it should not be a bother to us. However, my beta does not think the same way but saw them as a threat.
“They are growing strong, my alpha and Dark Age is strongly pulling forces against us. They have laid siege around Black Moon and Crystal realm and we are right at their middle” he persuaded.
“Then we should pull forces and face them” I replied and looked at sir Luggard to know his take.
“I think our forces are not strong enough for Dark Age anymore. They have us under siege and who knows when they are going to fully launch the attack?” sir Luggard said.
“That is what I am talking about, alpha. We need allies. Dark Age has gathered enough to their side. I have checked out Pixolands and as I already said, it is growing stronger. Their queen is a match for none. We can extend a hand of friendship to them and request they join forces with us against Dark Age. Fortunately, they seem to be the only ones Dark Age has not made a pact with” beta Tim explained.
I almost chuckled. “Everyone knows better than to make a pact with the Pixies. They always demand for times two of what they offer to you even in situations when they are the ones that come to you in the first place. Think of what would happen when you go to them”
Beta Tim allowed a frown on his face as he angrily stared into thin air.
“They may demand your… life,” I said with emphasis.
“That seems to be the problem in this” sir Luggard agreed.
“Dark Age has started to wipe out our brother Packs. They go about it slowly and discreetly. Even some of our armies sent to the borders returned greatly wounded. And right now I might have to admit that Black Moon and Crystal Realms are already at their mercy” his cheek vibrated in anger.
“I sent spies to survey their land and their army. They are just coming out of a plague that lasted for years in their land, and they are still building their armies. I say with certainty that their armies are no match for us, we can take them down in no time” beta Tim said with a growl.
“You did not mention the fact that their queen seems to be the strongest there ever was. She wands dark magic” sir Luggard said in a whisper as if afraid that the queen was going to hear her and use her magic on him.
“They have a lot of foes and would be glad to have us as an ally. Everyone can testify of our resilience” beta Tim bragged.
“Are we going for war or for peace?” I inquired with a look of worry.
BETA TIM’S POV
“You did not mention the fact that their queen seems to be the strongest there ever was. She wands dark magic” sir Luggard said in what I would term a fear.
Honestly, I have thought about this for a long time, and the only solution I could come up with is seeking help from the queen of Pixolands. We have to do this before the Dark Age fully pulls in on us. In this, the Pixies have no other choice but to agree with us.
“They have a lot of foes and would be glad to have us as an ally. Everyone can testify of our resilience” I revealed in delight.
“Are we going for war or for peace?” the alpha asked.
I could see that he was not too comfortable with my approach, but right now, we are left with not too many choices.
“To make them an ally” I murmured.
“And if they refuse?” alpha Fred asked.
I shot a look at him in shock. But then they must have to accept. “I… I… my alpha” I stuttered.
“I said, what will happen if they do not accept our extended hand of friendship?” alpha Jake repeated. He furrowed his brows and looked down at me from his throne, awaiting my response.
“My… alpha” I bowed slightly and tried to steady my voice. “They would need us as much as we need them. They will have to accept considering our strength” I counted my words as I spoke.
“And what can we give in return? The Pixies are greedy folks and they will not stop until they draw out your last blood” he asked.
“As I said, they have a lot of foes. We will offer to protect them” I replied without meeting his eyes.
“And what will happen if they refused” this time, he asked in a commanding tone, forcing me to look at him in fright.
“If they refuse, we will pull them down” I replied.
The alpha almost got up from the throne, but I immediately continued and he leaned on the throne on one side to listen to me. “Dark Age has pulled a lot of forces but they are not sure if it will match us and that is why they are yet to attack. My alpha, if they should get to the Pixies before us, then they will fearlessly attack us. So the Pixies must be made to align with us. We cannot afford to fall to Dark Age” I explained.
“We will go for war with Dark Age, prepare the army” The alpha announced and made to get up but sir Luggard stopped him this time.
“That will not be for the best, alpha, they will reap us apart. The armies of Black Moon and Crystal Realms are already weak and Dark Age got the better parts of our borders under their watch. There is no how we will prepare for this attack without them noticing and taking a step ahead of us”
“Alpha, if we have the Pixies with us, we can position them to start the fight from outside our borders while we fight from within. In such way there is no way Dark Age would be able to escape us” I added.
He heaved and got back to the throne. “I wonder why alpha Jake got us into this” he spat.
“My alpha” I called. “Is everything alright?” I asked.
He looked at me and growled. I drew back a little and bowed my head. “I have always said that alpha Jake’s lust for women will get us into trouble one day” I murmured.
“How is the search for your daughter going?” alpha Fred asked me.
“She left on her own, my alpha, I doubt she wants to be found” I replied with a wave of anger. She is better off dead than always rubbing my name in the mud.
“Once we are done with Dark Age, Luggard would lead a search for her” alpha Jake said and looked fiercely at me. “Scarlet will always remain one of us”
“I will do that, alpha,” sir Luggard said with a bow.
His eyes shot through my soul and I was forced to give a response. “Yes alpha”
I doubted if to go on with my next words, but when it seemed that his eyes were not about to leave my stature any soon, I mumbled out the words with my head bowed. “How is the preparation for your marriage with my daughter, Dawn coming, alpha? You hardly mention it these days”
My breath ceased as I awaited his reply. It was as if every other thing stopped moving.
He sniffed. “I will look into that after this, Tim” he sounded as if I had just brought up a completely irrelevant issue.
I was still looking for the right thing to say when he ordered. “Beta Tim, send some delegate to the Pixies, they must know of our intention to form an alliance with them”
He got up and immediately walked out with his guards behind him.
