SCARLET’S POV
The meeting with my husband tonight is like a semi-blind date. He had sent a carriage/chariot to pick me at the Packhouse and I was going to meet him at the undisclosed restaurant. I never knew alpha Jake would be this romantic to come up with a plan as sweet as this.
Even I could not take my eyes away from me, let alone the alpha. I wonder what he would do by the time he sets his eyes on me. I don’t think he would be able to let go of me. No need to remind me, I know very well that I am not supposed to sing my praises, but to say that I am beautiful tonight would be an understatement. I am a damsel, fit only for kings and princes.
It is like magic how my life had turned around. I that was treated with scorn in my father’s mansion is now luna in a strange Pack, a luna that none dared to stand up to. But then, I think I was only able to put up with the alpha and make him fall for me because of my life at the mansion.
The carriage/chariot rode for over thirty minutes before it finally arrived at our destination. It was a five-star restaurant, specially set up for the creme de la creme of the society. I have not gone into the restaurant yet, but just from the view outside, the inside could be better seen than imagined.
“Is this where we are supposed to come, Landon?” I inquired.
The alpha has appointed Landon as my escort for tonight and he is doing a very good job.
“Yes, luna. And the alpha should be expecting you now” he replied.
I have been to so many places with the alpha, but I have not been to somewhere as exotic as this. It looked all brand new and I could tell that it was designed with the best caret of gold and diamond and it could only remind me of the Packhouse. The whole scenario and the state of things made me start thinking that we were not at the right place.
Landon got down from his side of the carriage and walked over to my side. He held my hands and helped me to climb out of the carriage.
It was already drizzling by the time I stepped out of the carriage and an attendant from the restaurant rushed over to me and used the umbrella with him to shed me from the rain while allowing himself to be drenched by the rain.
“Good evening, luna, you are welcome to Deluxe Delight,” he greeted.
“Thank you” I muttered.
Deluxe Delight, yes that is the name of this place and I had not even taken notice of that. I looked at the building once again and I noticed the name professionally carved at the top.
However, I wondered how the attendant was able to fathom that I am the luna. Looking around, they are so many rich men and high-class ladies dressed almost to my standard and our carriage was no different from the others so how then did he know who I am?
And as if he had heard the thoughts on my mind, he said. “The alpha is already here and he is waiting for you. I will lead you to your table now if you don’t mind”
I nodded in the affirmative.
“May I, my luna?” Landon asked holding out his left hand.
“Yes, of course” I murmured.
He took my hands in his as a gentleman and led me into the restaurant with the attendant leading us. And he intentionally walked slowly just to keep up with my slow pace.
The place was filled with couples but the restaurant was spacious and so there was enough room for everyone.
People turned to stare at me as I walked past them. At first, I loved the attention and the admiration that I was getting. However, when it began to feel as if everyone had their eyes focused on me, I became nervous and started to feel nausea. It felt like I was going to lose my step and stumble and then fall as a result of their pricking eyes.
Landon noticed my discomfort and like the gentleman that he is, he reduced his steps more and tried to talk and cheer me up.
His approach helped a great deal and soon I had forgotten about the gazing eyes and was beaming with a smile and was also giggling at the things that he was saying.
I was lost in the euphoria of his sweet words and had completely forgotten where we are and what we have come for not until I heard the alpha’s voice. “This is enchanting”
I raised my head and looked at him. He was lost staring at me. I was lost too looking at how handsome he was looking tonight. He looked perfect in his sea-green suit and red bowtie and it was just as if we have planned on the two colours for tonight.
Standing before me is not the alpha that had come for me almost a year ago, standing here is a different man transformed in all aspects beyond recognition. He was handsome then, but now, his handsomeness has with it a touch of humanity and some emotions. I was happy to be his, and I was blessed to call him mine.
ALPHA JAKE’S POV
“This is enchanting”
I didn’t know when these words left my lips. I had gotten on my feet the very moment that I saw my luna walking up to me. She was smiling and I have never seen her completely free and happy. Her innocent smile made her glorious and all I could mutter was this is enchanting.
She is my spell and I am lost in her magical world. She is everything perfect and giving her the world would be only the tip of the iceberg. I will give her everything, down to my soul if she so desires.
I remembered my manners and stretched out my hands to her and led her into her seat. I have been keeping her standing and that was not manly of me. “You are most welcome, my luna” I greeted.
She smiled in response.
“See if you don’t like it here, I can take you somewhere else, just name it” I offered.
All I want to do tonight is to please her and I would not want to do that wrongly. If she should notice any shortcomings, then I would correct them immediately.
She continued to smile at me and did not say anything.
Her smile I love and would kill for, but her silence was taunting me. Now I don’t know if she was okay with this place or not. I want to do it right by her and until I was able to achieve that, I would remain an unfulfilled man.
I decided to try another approach and see if she would respond. “I must say that you look amazingly breathtaking tonight, sweetheart” I complimented.
It appeared like I was trying to flirt with her, but I speak the truth and it worries me that I could not find the right word to describe her.
She smiled. “Thanks, my alpha” she responded with the most euphonious voice that I have ever heard.
Her smile gladdened my heart and I continued. “Do you like this place?” I asked.
“Are you kidding me? This is like the best place that I have ever been to, except of course, for the Packhouse” she replied.
I was elated by her response. Now I think next time, I would endeavor to search for a place that would be better than the Packhouse and then take her there. But then, once I see somewhere that is better than my palace, I upgrade my palace immediately to surpass it and I don’t mind pulling down the whole thing and starting all over with rebuilding it. It is my principle that my abode should have no comparison.
“Our table is somewhere and I will take you there right away. But before then, I will like to make some announcement” I said.
SCARLET’S POV
I heard his question clearly, but I could not bring myself to utter even a single word. I was completely lost in his presence, and even though I know that all this was real, I felt like I was living a dream and would soon wake up to find myself somewhere in the mansion, clinging to my old mat. The thought of ever leaving this my present life was scary.
“Thanks, my alpha” I managed to respond this time.
“Do you like this place?” He asked the question again.
“Are you kidding me? This is like the best place that I have ever been to, except of course, for the Packhouse” I replied.
This is beautiful but was nothing compared to the Packhouse. The Packhouse was gold. It is a mastery piece of art and I don’t think something like it would be found any other place. Tell me, who would want to waste a fortune building a house if not alpha Jake, my husband. He is a man with great taste, and he strongly believes that his accomplishment should be reflected in every area of his life.
“Our table is somewhere there and I will take you there right away. But before then, I will like to make some announcement” he informed me.
He got up and went to take the microphone from the DJ.
“Can I have your attention everyone?” he called out.
Everyone left their business and stood up. I wondered what announcement he was going to make. My mind was completely blank as we have not discussed anything about this before and he gave me no hint either. With great patience, I waited just like the others to hear what he was about to say.
When he was sure that he had the attention of everyone, he continued. “I know everyone here has met my luna, Scarlet if not before now but right here in Deluxe Delight” he began.
My heart started to beat fast. Why was he going to say to them about me? I still could not figure out the reason, so I waited.
All eyes turned to me and he walked up to me and led me with him.
“Today is the official opening of Deluxe Delight and just like the name signifies, I am delighted to present to you the owner of this grand place, my luna, Scarlet” he announced.
The whole place erupted with cheering and clapping. Everyone here seems to be participating in this but me. I was lost, lost as to the happenings around me.
“It is all yours, my luna” he smiled at me.
This is when I finally grasp what he had announced. I will be the owner of Deluxe Delight, somewhere that just a moment ago I had revered and felt I was not fit for it is now mine.
“Wow…” I exclaimed and gave him a tight hug.
When I was done hugging him, he took my hand and led me away.
“I hope you like my gift?” he asked.
“This was unexpected, alpha and I must say that it is the best gift that I have ever received. I love you so much” I replied.
“And I love you too” he replied.
