I got up early from bed. I need to start taking care of things around here and see to it that everything is done properly and at the right time.
I intend to go over the role and duties of every staff of the Pack-house and re-assign some roles if need be.
Lara would be my second in command; she will supervise and work together with the chief servant and would report directly with me.
“Hey, Lara, why are you still sleeping, get up” I called to Lara who was still lying on the bed.
Lara had spent the night with me at my command. We discussed all through the night while I awaited a visit from my husband to visit or at least a message from him. Sadly, none of those happened. I have not seen him since I arrived at my new home.
“Good morning, my luna” Lara greeted.
“Get up already, I have so much to do today” I instructed.
She got down from the bed and stretched herself before proceeding to leave the room.
“Where are you off to?” I asked.
“I need to go freshen up right away. I would not want to keep you waiting for me for long” she replied.
“Okay, please be fast with that,” I said.
I watched her leave my room, and for the first time since my arrival, I was alone in this big room. The space suddenly became too big and I wondered what I would do with such a huge space.
I got up and went to pick something from the wardrobe when I heard a knock at the door.
“Come in” I ordered.
An omega walked in and bowed. “Good morning luna. Sorry I arrived late, I was wondering when you are going to be awake” she said.
I did not know who she is or even the purpose of her visit and so I waited for her to introduce herself.
“Sorry luna, forgive my manners. I have been assigned to take care of your wardrobe and it is my duty to pick out every of your outfit for each day. I have instructed the royal seamstress and she will be here later in the day so that you can inform her of the attires that you want. The ones in your wardrobe will only remain there if you so desire” she finally stopped talking and I inhaled.
“But the clothes here are more than enough already. What would I need any more clothes for?” I asked.
She did not respond to me but rather she acted like she had not heard my last statement.
“And what is your name?” I requested.
“My name is Kendra, luna” she replied.
“Very well, Kendra, about the clothes, you will have to liaise with Lara. And what do you have for me this morning?” I asked.
Without uttering another word, she walked up to my wardrobe and brought out a lovely blue flowing gown.
“I can pick out another one if you don’t like this, my luna,” she said.
I stretched out my hand and she quickly handed the dress over to me. It was silk and very soothing on the skin. I love it already as it would be just perfect for a morning like this one.
“I will make do with this, Kendra and I must say that you have a great sense of fashion” I responded.
“I am most grateful, luna, please can I help you change into it right away?” she asked.
“No, I will wear it myself” I smiled.
She brought down her face and was reluctant to leave.
“Is something wrong, Kendra?” I asked.
“I am sorry, luna, but the alpha has ordered that you should not do any of our jobs” she replied with her face looking downwards.
“And now I insist that I can take care of this,” I said.
“You cannot be allowed to, Luna” she insisted.
I heard another knock at the door.
“You can come in,” I said.
Another omega entered and bowed before me. “Good day, Luna, I am Mia and I am here to take care of your makeup,” she said.
“Okay, let me dress up” I mumbled.
I could not understand what is going on. Of course, Lara already informed me that I would be getting plenty of help, but I did not know that it would be this much. Getting help for almost everything was not part of my fantasy world.
Kendra walked over to me and assisted in changing me into the blue dress and when she was done, I sat for Mia to do my makeup.
“I require light makeup. I would not want to waste much time here” I instructed Mia.
“I will do just that, luna” she replied.
“With your permission, luna, I will like to take my leave. I will be around whenever you need me” Kendra bowed.
“You can go now, Kendra. And do check on Lara, I need her here with me” I said.
Lara returned when we were almost done with the makeup and when she saw my face she exclaimed. “You look amazing, Luna. I could almost not recognize you”
I took a look at myself in the mirror. Truly the makeup was spectacular but I think Lara was exaggerating. “It is only a very light makeup, Lara” I smiled.
I heard another knock by the door, but this time, the knock was a bit louder than the others.
“See who is at the door, Lara” I ordered.
Lara walked over to the door and when she opened it, she immediately gave way for the person to enter.
With how Lara had reacted, I thought that it was my husband that had entered and I moved my face away slightly.
“Good day, my luna, you look glowing and amazingly beautiful today” I heard beta Robert say.
I turned towards him. “Good morning, Robert” I replied.
“I would like to have a word with you right away,” he said.
“You can leave now, Mia” I ordered Mia to leave. She was already done with the makeup and was waiting for me to discharge her.
“Okay, Robert,” I said after Mia had left.
Robert did not say anything but turned his gaze to Lara instead.
“I am listening, Robert,” I said.
“And she?” Robert asked referring to Lara.
“But, ehm… she can… please leave us, Lara” I stuttered.
Lara did as I have instructed and left, leaving just Robert and me.
“Now we are alone,” I said.
“I come bearing a message from the alpha,” he said.
“Where is he?” I asked anxiously. “I didn’t see him again”
“He has some very crucial issues to take care of. I think you will meet him once he is back” he replied.
“Okay,” I murmured.
“The alpha instructed that no other person should share your room with you next time. No one is allowed to pass the night in this quarter ever again” he said.
“But why?” I stuttered.
“Lara had slept here last night and the alpha didn’t find that pleasing. If you do not want to get on the bad side of the alpha, please learn the place of servants and endeavor to leave them there” he replied.
“But Lara is not my servant, she is my friend. I have known her since childhood” I replied.
“I know, luna and that is why I have ordered that a room should be prepared for you on the third floor. Your ‘friends’ can always hang out with you over there during the day and at night, you are to return to your room” he said.
He tried to emphasize the friends to make me understand that the idea of having friends doesn’t sound proper to him or the alpha.
“And was it my husband that asked to set up the extra room?” I asked.
“No, luna. Please he mustn’t find out the reason for setting up the room. It was solely my idea. I figured that since you are just coming into a new environment, you might need some time to settle in gradually” he explained.
“Oh, that is so thoughtful of you, Robert, I do appreciate that” I responded.
“And one more thing, luna?” he said.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Apart from me and someone acting on the order of the alpha, no man is allowed in here. The alpha would not want to hear of such. But for your new room, you are free to take your friends to it” he replied.
He emphasized the phrase, friends, once again. With how he sounded, I doubt if he had ever had a friend before.
“Thank you for making room for me and my friends, Robert, we will never forget this,” I said.
“With your permission, I would take my leave now,” he said.
“Okay,” I responded.
With a slight bow, he turned and left my room.
Lara entered, she looked at me inquisitively and I sighed in response.
“What did he say? He sounded like he had some very important issue to discuss with you” she asked.
“I have been given an extra room below this one for me and my friends” I chuckled. “It seems the alpha does not want any sleepover with his luna” I replied.
“Okay,” she murmured.
“We should leave now. I have so much that I want to do this morning” I said.
