SCARLET’S POV
My arrival at Black Moon Pack was altogether awesome. My new people were so glad to receive me and they had come bearing countless numbers of gifts for me. They are very nice people and I am happy to find myself among them.
It was just as Lara had predicted. This is my new home now and it is nothing like the mansion. It is glad to have me and I am fortunate to be in it. The Packhouse is a four-story building with a penthouse.
When I presented Lara and Rich as my personal maid and trainer respectively, my husband did not make any objections but had gone ahead to instruct the chief servant together with his beta, Robert to show me around the Pack-house.
However, since then I had not seen him and I have been trying to catch a glimpse of him but that has proved impossible.
“And where is the alpha?” I inquired from his beta.
“He should be around somewhere. He has some pressing issues that he has to attend to” he replied.
We are done with the introductions and getting acquainted with my new home and the chief servant excused herself.
“I have to go now, luna, please send for me if you need anything else,” she said.
“Okay, I appreciate your time” I responded.
Now it was time for beta Robert to take me to my room. No, our room, for my husband and me. The introduction took about half an hour and I cannot wait to jump into bed. Yes, a bed. I would finally be having a bed to myself and I wonder what it would feel like to sleep in one until morning.
I had always slept in Ray’s bed then whenever I visited. He would always let me have it to myself and most times, I wished I could stay in it forever. And now the dream of sleeping in a cozy bed for the night has come true and I am so happy for that.
“I noticed you didn’t take me to the alpha’s chamber,” I said to beta Robert.
“We would do all of that tomorrow, luna. I want you to have some rest now and tomorrow I will take you to his chamber and his suite” he replied.
“His suite” I murmured. “And where would I be sleeping today?” I inquired.
I was confused. I thought I was going to get the privilege of finally having a bed, now where is he taking me to, or won’t I live in the Pack-house? And why would I be sleeping alone if he already has a suite to himself? These thoughts and many more clustered my mind.
“You will have your room and your chamber, luna, and that is where I am taking you to. Alpha Jake prefers to sleep alone” he said. “Sorry, that is not for me to tell you. He would talk to you about it himself. Please forgive my guts” he apologized.
“That is okay beta Robert, I appreciate your telling me” I replied.
“Robert, luna, just Robert. The only person that you are allowed to call by a title is the alpha and that is if he wants you to. And that also is not a discussion for me, I am sorry again” he apologized once again.
“Okay, Robert, I get you. I will ask my husband questions that bother me from now on” I said.
“I am always here to clarify on any issue that does not have to do with alpha Jake” he replied.
“That is the alpha’s suite at the far end and his chamber is attached to his suite, just at the penthouse. I will formally take you there tomorrow” he announced.
He opened my room and handed the keys to me. “I will leave you and Lara to yourselves now,” he said.
“This is so kind of you, Robert, do have a good day. And I think I would like to have my dinner in my room please” I replied.
“That would be done,” he answered.
I waited for him to leave but he remained where he was with his eyes focused on Rich.
“Robert” I called.
“I will leave, luna but permit me, I want to show Rich here to his room” he responded.
“But I already know my room” Rich replied.
“You already showed him and Lara their room,” I said.
He remained fixed at the spot and I knew that nothing I do would make him go away.
“You can go now, Rich. Please make yourself available early tomorrow morning for the training” I instructed.
“Yes, Scarlet” Rich said.
Robert shot Rich a very angry look and he quickly corrected himself. “Yes, my luna, I will be here even before you wake,” he said.
Rich walked away while Robert followed behind, making sure that he went straight to his room.
“I will see to it that you are given a room close to mine, Lara, I don’t like the idea of your being far away from me,” I said to Lara as we both entered inside.
“But that will not be possible, luna” Lara replied.
“And why is that so?” I asked.
I took a look at my room. It was fabulous and was nothing like what we had at the mansion. I wowed at the glorious sight before me.
The bed was big enough to contain five people and the chandeliers, the furniture, the huge wardrobe. I rushed to open the wardrobe and what I saw in it completely left me speechless.
The clothes are numerous. They are so beautiful and were only fit for queens and lunas. The shoes and bags were of different colours. They are like nothing that I have seen before.
“Wow,” I exclaimed.
I had always thought that Dawn had the best things in life, but what I am seeing here is far above whatever it was that Dawn has.
I felt like I was in the dream world.
“Lara walked over to me and she exclaimed when she saw the things in the wardrobe. “These are so beautiful”
“Beautiful, just beautiful? These are far above beauty” I said. “Who are they for?” I did not know when the word left my lips.
“There are for you. You are the luna now and these are the stuff you should be used to” she replied.
“I know but I have never seen anything like it before. And the room too, it is like paradise” I said.
“Yes, there are. This Pack-house is made of luxury. Right from the outside, it is like being in a dream world” she agreed.
I turned to her and asked. “And why do you say it is impossible to get you a room up here, right beside my room”
“There are ways things are structured over here, my luna. I am a nobody, so who am I to get a room in the quarters of the alpha and the luna?” she asked.
“But I got a room here too right? Even you too should” I replied.
“And you are the luna. This quarter is just for you and the alpha. No one else can live here with you too. The least we can do is for me to stay here with you always, and that is if the alpha does not complain about it” she replied.
“But then why should he complain? He got his own suite to himself and so I should do what I like with mine” I asked.
“You are the luna now, and there are some etiquettes and principles that you should abide by just like the ones that my mum thought you. Were you even listening to any of those?” she inquired.
She was right. I never paid attention to all that Mama Ruth thought me about the etiquettes of the noble. There all sounded so foreign to me and I never knew that I was going to find myself in this situation.
“See, you heard Robert introduce a royal tutor to me. Don’t worry I will take my lectures with her very seriously” I replied.
“Please, you don’t want to go embarrassing yourself in front of the alpha. I heard he is a man with very little patience. You can see just how great he is, so he should be a very serious and disciplined alpha and he would like to see some of such behavior in his luna too” she said.
“Okay, Lara. Since you were there with me when Mama Ruth was teaching me, can you please go over all of them again?” I pleaded.
“All of them” she exclaimed.
“Okay, maybe not all of them, but at least the important ones. I need you to do this for me, please. You know I was never exposed to this way of life” I responded.
“Very well, my luna, I will see just what I can do” she replied.
I smiled, I am a very lucky person to have someone like her with me.
