The healer was the one who handled magical or supernatural injuries, and so on, and was the best option for what had happened to Morane than going to their Pack hospital. The Pack Doctors deal with regular physical injuries, illness, and so on.
Aiden slammed open the door after giving orders to some guards and telling them to inform Ryker. His breath was heavy as Bryan walked in and carefully laid Morane on the soft couch, her body still fragile.
The soft fabric of the couch sagged slightly as Bryan gently placed her down, her breathing shallow and her face pale and stained with blood.
“Please get me some water,” Bryan said to Aiden, taking out his handkerchief which was in his pocket.
Aiden went into Morane’s kitchen to look for some water and came back with water in a bowl. Then Bryan dipped his handkerchief, soaking it.
When the handkerchief was soaked to how he wanted it to be. He used it to clean the blood stain from Morane’s face. She was no longer bleeding, it had stopped.
Moments later, as soon as Bryan was done cleaning Morane’s face, the door swung open as the healer rushed in.
“Alphas,” she bowed, greeting them.
Without another word, she moved quickly to where Morane lay, her hands hovering over Morane’s body.
As her hands hovered, she muttered incantations under her breath. Quickly, she opened a small pouch she had on her and pulled out crushed herbs and a vial of liquid, which she poured onto Morane’s forehead.
After pouring on Morane’s forehead, she opened Morane’s mouth and also poured. The air in the room began to smell of rosemary and lavender.
The healer then placed one hand on Morane’s forehead and the other on her stomach as her hands began to flow faintly. She was transferring her energy to Morane.
In the healer’s mind, she knew whatever had happened had really drained Morane to this point, and she would need extra energy to heal.
Aiden stood still by the doorway, his fists clenched tightly at his sides as he watched the healer work. He was just so sick of this curse in them, and he never intended to cause harm to anyone.
Bryan, on the other hand, remained by Morane’s side but gave way for the healer to move around and do whatever needed to be done.
The silence in the room was broken by the healer’s whispered words. Bryan and Aiden just stood there, waiting for a sign of improvement.
After what felt like forever, the healer’s hands finally stopped glowing. She leaned back, wiped the sweat from her brow, and got up.
“She will be fine,” the healer informed them, her voice calm but tired. “I don’t know what had happened, but if she was not brought back on time, we may have lost her, but I am glad she is safe now. Her energy is drained, but with rest and everything I have done, she will recover fully.”
“Thank you so much, Healer.” Bryan said it gratefully as he released a relieved breath.
“Of course, Alpha. It is my duty, and Morane is a friend. I will come back later to check up on her.” The healer said and gave another bow to him and Aiden before packing up her things and leaving.
As the healer was leaving, Ryker stepped inside. “Sorry for being late, Alphas, is she going to be okay?” Ryker asked, his eyes flickering between Morane and the twins.
Aiden nodded. “She just needs rest,” he said, his voice tight with worry but relief, and he was exhausted. They all were. “Stay with her tonight. Make sure she doesn’t wake up alone.”
Ryker nodded, stepping closer to the couch as Aiden and Bryan exchanged a final glance, then turned to leave.
“Thank you, Ryker!” Bryan muttered and gave him a pat on the shoulder, right before they left.
They didn’t even know what to say to each other as they headed back home. But they both knew how they felt. This curse, whatever it was, was just so sickening.
The mansion was dark and silent when they stepped through the front door. The clock in the hallway read three in the morning. They even lost track of time and had no idea it was already three.
Their footsteps echoed as they made their way toward the stairs. As they reached the base of the stairs, a soft noise caught their attention, and they turned, getting alerted.
But there was nothing to attack. It was just Kira who appeared from the Kitchen in her nightgown and an oversized sweater. Her hair was a bit messy, and her face showed the remnants of sleep.
“Where have you been?” She asked them worriedly.
“You are awake?” Aiden asked, surprised.
“Mhm.” Kira nodded, wrapping her arms around herself. “I woke up and didn’t see you two. I got worried, so I came down to find you,” she explained as she looked at their faces, silently searching, making sure they were indeed okay.
When she moved closer, her gaze softened. Without a word, she stretched out her hands gently and cupped their cheeks.
“What happened?” she asked softly, her eyes full of worry.
Aiden leaned slightly into her touch, closing his eyes for a moment. “It’s complicated,” he said.
“A lot has happened,” Bryan muttered, and then they told her about Morane but omitted everything else about the curse.
After they were done, she pulled them into a hug and kissed them each on the side of their head.
“Come,” she took their hands in hers, “You both need rest.”
“We do,” they muttered.
They were so vulnerable around her. She just had a way of making them so comfortable and free, and they loved it.
They love her.
The three of them went upstairs and Kira helped them out of their uncomfortable clothes and into something free and comfortable before they all laid on the bed with her in the middle. She rubbed their arms, face, everywhere, just to make them feel more relaxed.
She had also taken off her sweater for some skin to skin contact when Bryan noticed something under her left arm and asked her.
“Has that always been there?”
