Kyra almost scoffed, but was able to hold herself back.
“I- I didn’t even do anyt- okay.” she said softly, just accepting it.
“He was the one who came close to me that way, and now he is… Oh Goddess”, she thought to herself.
“I haven’t apologized for what happened between us last time. I want to use this opportunity too”, Aiden brought up, remembering about the time he had choked her.
“I truly am sorry. I would never intentionally hurt you and I know you still hate us, but I think maybe you might consider thinking about my apology and going out with me? Just hang out, get some things and so on,” he offered.
Kira looked at him, not sure of how to respond, “Do I really have a choice? I’m sure you will just force me if I don’t want to.”
“I won’t love, it’s your decision. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. I understand,” he told her softly, a small smile on his face.
“Well, Alpha, I don’t think I want to”, She responded.
Aiden licked his lips and got up, “It’s alright, mm, I suppose I should let you go back to your reading then. And like we said before, address us by our names.”
With that said, he turned to leave.
“Wait!”, Kira called out, standing from her seat as he almost reached the door.
He turned around and gave her a questioning look.
Kira walked up to him and opened the door, while he watched her, wondering why she had asked him to wait.
“I will go get dressed,” She said and left.
“Hm?”, Aiden said to himself as he watched her leave before he finally understood what she meant. “Does that mean a yes? Kira?”
“Yes!”, She answered, and then disappeared from sight.
“YES!!”, Aiden said to himself, feeling delighted. He was very sure she would say no, but still decided to try. He was really happy that she accepted.
Maybe with this, they could get closer or something, but he’s just hopefully for a positive outcome.
Kira, on the other hand, had gotten to her room to look for something to wear.
“I sincerely hope I am making the right decision”, she thought to herself, going to her wardrobe. “Can I really let go of the past?”
“Why now, though?”, she could not help but ask herself. “Would they really have wanted to make things right if I wasn’t their mate?”
Countless questions ran through her head as she proceeded to look for what to wear. Something casual, since the outing was not necessarily fancy.
Kira’s hand stilled as she held up a black top. “But I think their mom said something about them having regrets for what had happened…hm.”
She tossed the shirt onto the bed, then pulled a pair of dark jeans from the drawer, only to toss them aside moments later. “Is this okay? It’s my first time on a date. Sometimes I wonder how they know my size. Well, it was not impossible to know.”
“I never thought I would find myself dressing up to go on a date with them. Besides why didn’t Bryan come too?”, Kira pondered, still searching for what to wear.
She had not decided yet.
Finally, she settled on a fitted black top and dark jeans. It was not anything special, but was enough to look presentable.
She got dressed, slipped on a pair of boots, her mind still drifting back to Bryan and Aiden.
It was like her mind and heart were fighting to understand what the best decision would be in the situation she was in.
After getting dressed, she brushed a hand through her long black hair, pulling it into a loose ponytail.
“I definitely don’t want to be thinking about them, but these thoughts are impossible to avoid”, she sighed. “They just have ways of confusing me, acting cold, then sweet, then… I don’t even understand anymore, and I don’t even understand myself either.”
“And now… Aiden apologized and got close and… ” She just bit down on her lower lip, hard enough to leave a mark, before letting out a heavy sigh.
“Deep breaths Kira, you are doing good!”, She encouraged herself, “It’s just a date, nothing much and since I have decided to see where all of these will lead, I can’t back out now. It has already started.”
“Lip gloss, check! Mascara, check! Perfume check! Everything checked.” With one final glance in the mirror, instead of smiling, she sighed.
“I am doing this for myself, not for them.” Then she smiled and grabbed her jacket, heading for the door. “I am sure their mother picked these make-up essentials. It certainly did come in handy.”
Her heart was beating too fast as she headed downstairs. She knows she can be stubborn, feisty, but she also can be submissive and nervous. It just depends.
She knew herself well enough to recognize that her behavior depends on the circumstances.
The moment she appeared on the stairs, Aiden had already been watching her, his eyes locked on her.
“My Goddess,” he whispered to himself. “She has always looked beautiful in any situation, but this is just wow. Then imagine when she actually dresses up very fancy…”
He immediately clenched his jaw slightly, and shifted his weight, trying to keep his expression neutral. His gaze still followed the sway of her hips, unable to tear his eyes away.
As she moved closer, something stirred inside him. He knew all too well what it was.
Her eyes finally met with his, and her heart was still pounding. Her heart still skipped on top of the whole pounding.
She hated herself for it and how he was making her feel, but she could not stop her gaze from dropping. Her gaze swept over his broad shoulders, down the fitted black polo tucked neatly into dark trousers.
The jacket he wore completed his outfit. It was almost impossible to ignore how undeniably attractive he looked.
Kira swallowed hard, her throat suddenly dry. As much as she wanted to hate him for everything he had done, she could not deny that he did look good.
A slow smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he outstretched his hand for her to take.
“Typical of him, always suspicious with those smirks”, she thought as she took his hand.
None of them said a word, but the way they looked at each other was enough and clear.
He then asked her, “Shall we?”
