Alpha Arthur;
I push the door of the car open and step down. Nova did the same and we both joined the others who were already waiting for us.
“Who do we speak to?” Kingsley asks the witness.
The witness was a tall, elderly Delta wolf with ivory hair. He looked a bit unkempt and you could tell that he was a hunter. Most Delta wolves are hunters. Unlike Alpha wolves who are known for kingship, Beta and Gamma wolves, known to be the second and third in command. Omegas, which are known as the lowest rank of the wolves, and then we have the Rogues, which we basically don’t classify among us because they have no packs.
I don’t fix him in the rank circle.
Delta wolves were seen as the hunters of the clan. They sure know how to invade a lot of places that other wolves won’t pay attention to. And that’s why the Deltas are most likely to discover events, incidents, circumstances and the host of others.
They are not as powerful as Alphas, Betas, and Gammas, but they have their own immeasurable skills when it comes to hunting. That skill no one can deny.
“I will knock on the door and inform the ladies about the arrival of everyone,” the witness informs before walking to the old wooden door. He knocks on it twice.
The door opens. An elderly Omega she wolves comes out of the house. Her feet tremble in fear the moment she sets her eyes on everyone. She wasn’t expecting us. Why did the witness have to lie about the fact that she was aware of our coming? This Omega knows nothing.
“The Alphas are here for Princess Nova,” the witness utters.
“I don’t have her here,” the elderly Omega tries to shut the door. The witness holds it from closing with his palm.
“I saw you take her, and the Alpha family are here for her,” the witness arches his head, taking a look at Alpha Maxwell and Kingsley. I think he’s expecting them to give an order.
“Hey! Lady! Is my daughter with you or not? I don’t have enough patience!” Alpha Maxwell roars, and the lady falls to her knees. Her head bowed in fear.
“Y-Y… yes, Alpha…” She panics through her words.
The door widens and a young, pale-skin lady who should be in her twenties just like Elara, steps out. Her gray beautiful eyes flickered as she stared right at me in anger. She has these perfect curves in the right places. Her mid-knee’s blue strap dress makes her fine, straight, long legs prominent.
The blazing anger in her eyes was so intense that my eyes had to go way past the beauty of the young lady. And this time, I’m looking through her soul. The person behind this beautiful lady’s body is Elara. My Elara.
But the body was Nova’s.
“Do you like my look?” Nova pulls her lips closer to my ear as she asks.
“You look great, Nova. Very beautiful that no man can resist you, but I miss Elara, and I’m so glad to see her once again,” my eyes fixed on the beautiful lady.
“Nova! You are alive!” Kingsley rushes forward to wrap his arms around the beautiful lady. She pushes him off, her gaze still fixed on me in anger.
Elara was mad at me. She wasn’t happy to see me. Probably, I had wasted a lot of time before coming to see her. If that is it, then her reason for being mad is valid.
“Who are you?” She finally takes her eyes off me and stares at Kingsley.
“Did you lose your memory, my girl?” Luna moves closer to her. “Why can’t you recognize your brother?” The tears in Luna’s eyes are so evident. You will know her emotions are a mixture of happiness and sadness.
Happiness, for finally setting her eyes on her daughter. Sadness, that her daughter doesn’t seem excited to see anyone. Probably, because she is Elara and not Nova.
Nova was standing right beside me.
“I don’t recognize anymore aside from him. That’s also my body over there. Why did he allow her to have it?” Elara points right at me.
Everyone sends their gaze in my direction.
Nova immediately adjusted to stand right in front of me, causing Elara’s finger to point at her. She was trying to create another narrative. Everyone would think Elara’s fingers were pointed at her, Nova.
“Nova!” Nova calls out to Elara and hurries toward her. “So you still recognized me even after your incident? I’m very excited for this, my friend,” Nova wraps her hands around Elara.
I saw the confusion in Elara’s eyes and I noticed Nova whispering some words to her. Nova was trying to put things in order and not mess up anything. Elara probably had no idea that it was Nova’s body she was carrying.
But she knew her body was occupied by somebody.
“Are you alright, Nova?” Alpha Maxwell finally speaks up as he asks Elara. Elara keeps mute. Alpha Maxwell turns toward the Omega who is still on her knees, “What happened to my daughter, and how did you find her?”
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I….”
“Rise to your feet,” he orders the Omega.
She straightens up on her feet before she continues her words. “I didn’t know she was the Princess of the pack. I just saw her lying helpless on the floor at the scene of her incident, and I decided to save her life. Forgive me, Alpha.”
“There is nothing to forgive in this. You did a great job and you deserve to be rewarded. Everyone should hop in the car and let’s get back home. Oh! yeah!” Alpha Maxwell stares at one of his men, “Bring the Omega and the Delta along,” he orders and enters his car.
Ever since I’ve known Alpha Maxwell, he isn’t a man of emotions. He believes as an Alpha, no matter the circumstances, no one deserves to see the vulnerable part of you. That’s the reason he didn’t bother to walk toward his found daughter, and give her a hug.
We all get into the car. Nova joined me, and Elara joined Luna’s car. Everyone drove back home.
“What did you say to Elara?” I ask Nova as we head back to her father’s mansion.
“Nothing important. Just something that needed to be said.”
“And what is this thing that isn’t important?”
She tucks her hair behind her ear, “I told her my father would get us both killed if he found out that we switched souls. It’s a curse and we won’t both live to see the next day.”
“Did she buy into that?”
“Um, yeah! She did. At least for now.”
“What do you mean, for now, Nova?”
“She seems very mad over something, and she might break the ice if her emotions are not in check,” Nova let out a sigh of tiredness.
“Don’t worry about Elara. She won’t mess things up. She’s one of the strongest ladies who I’ve come across in my life. Even as a Gamma wolf, with a little blood of an Omega, she is emotionally strong. I love her for that.”
“When will you stop speaking of Elara? My ears are already tired of hearing about her.”
“Never,” I pick up my phone which suddenly starts to ring and takes Loki’s call.
He had called to inform me about how desperate my pack members were searching for Elara. And my Council of Elders would stop at no end until they achieved their aim of getting rid of her. Loki wants to know my date of return and how best he can put things together for me before I return to my pack.
I told him what I needed. There was already a plan laid out on what to do to my pack members when I returned with Elara. I’m their Alpha. I know how best to deal with them.
“How many weeks do you have before you can return to your pack?” Nova questions me.
“I don’t have weeks but days. My pack will be burned down in flames if I don’t return soon. Whatever soul switching that has to happen between you and Elara, needs to occur fast. There is no more time for me,” my head throbs on the headrest of the car as the thoughts of how fast I can hasten the switching between both ladies, fills my brain.
