Philip had already prepared everything necessary before we arrived in the Blue Moon Pack. The time frame was actually short but I trust him to do a good job. I had ordered him to prepare a nice hotel for me, that I could spend my time during this period.
My plan is to make sure that I return to my pack with Elara back in her body.
I don’t care if it’s gonna take days, months or years. I’m ready to stay back in the Blue Moon Pack and wait.
Nova and I made our way toward the car prepared for us, and we entered. “So what direction from here?” I ask her.
“Let’s head straight, I will direct Phillip through the journey.”
“Alright. Hope your father’s house is not very far away. I would like to stop by at the home of the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack and let him know that I’m present in his pack.”
“That’s where we are heading,” a grin spreads across her face.
“What do you mean?” My brow slightly raises in confusion.
“My father is the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack…”
“Hang on a sec! Is your father Alpha Maxwell Alexander? I mean, are you his daughter?”
“Yes… that’s me.”
“Wow! Wow! Wow!” I held my cheeks in shock. “I thought Alpha Maxwell had just a son. So where….” I can’t help but laugh out loud.
Alpha Maxwell and my late father had been distant friends for years, but I mostly don’t follow my father down to the Blue Moon Pack. I had been here for just a very few occasions. The child of Alpha Maxwell that I’ve met is his son. I didn’t even know that there was also a daughter.
How did I miss this part? Even when Nova was under my roof and kept speaking about returning to her father’s pack, it never occurred to me that she might be royalty.
This is a good one. It will help us accomplish what we came here to do faster than expected.
“You are so shocked, Alpha Arthur, because you’ve never paid attention to me. Anyway, I don’t have to blame you for it because I was always in the shadows. My brother is the heir to the throne, so he does basically everything,” she wraps her arms around her chest. “So tell me, did anything change?”
“Huh!?” My forehead furrowed as I gazed at her in confusion.
Pointing her index finger at my chest, “Your heart. Did it change toward me?”
“Seriously? Is that important?” I whiff in amusement.
“I can’t even make you fall for me, so what’s the point of being an Alpha’s daughter,” she gusts and rests her head on the seat.
“Phillip, we are heading to Alpha Maxwell Pack. I believe you know your way,” my eyes dart toward my wristwatch checking the time. The day was still young.
“Yes, Alpha,” Phillip responds and pivots in a direction, leading to Alpha Maxwell’s home.
After a few more hours, we arrived at the mansion gate.
Without saying a word to me, Nova opens the door and steps out of the car. I did same, and we both strolled toward the gate. Nova made to rush in, but I held her hand, pulling her back. “You can’t just go in. Don’t forget you are bearing the identity of Elara. You are a stranger to everyone right now,” I inform her.
The men of Alpha Maxwell bow their heads in respect as they set their eyes on me.
“We didn’t know you were visiting today, Alpha Arthur,” the head warrior of the Blue Moon Pack utters.
“Is your Alpha available?”
“Yes, he is. This way, please. Open the gate for Alpha Arthur,” he gives the order.
I step back into my car with Nova, and Phillip drives us into the huge compound, stopping right at the entrance of the mansion.
“You can wait for me in the car, Philip,” with that, I step out once again, and Nova does the same.
More men of Alpha Maxwell bow their heads in respect, giving us a way into the mansion. A messenger had already rushed in to go inform Alpha Maxwell about our arrival.
We stroll in, and Alpha Maxwell, his Beta, Goddard, and Alpha Maxwell’s Luna come to welcome us.
“You never mentioned to us that you were coming to visit, Alpha Arthur,” Alpha Maxwell gives me a warm embrace.
“I had business in your pack and decided to stop by, and say hi to my father’s old time friend.”
“Oh, I see.” He takes a look at Nova, “Who is she? I can see your mark on her body. You finally found your fated mate?”
Fixing my hands in my pockets, “She is my chosen mate, not fated mate.”
“Hmmm,” nodding his head as he takes a better look at her. “She is very beautiful.”
I cross my hand over Nova’s shoulders, “Yes, she is.”
“Beta Goddard, how have you been? It’s been a while,” I asked.
“Very fine, Alpha Arthur. You’ve grown into a very fine man. I wish your father was still alive to see his son. I know he’s very proud of you from afar. Please, have your seat,” he points at the couch.
I take my seat, Nova sits beside me.
Alpha Maxwell and Beta Goddard sit directly opposite. Luna had to excuse herself to go prepare some meals for us. She was one of the Lunas I so much respect. Very welcoming, and loves to cook even as a Luna. I miss some of her dishes.
“So, Alpha Arthur,” Alpha Maxwell stands up and heads to his bar. He brings out four glasses, “Does she drink?” He cocks his head in the direction of Nova.
I pull my lips closer to her ear and ask Nova if she drinks alcohol. Not all she-wolves have a good brain for alcohol.
“Yes, I do,” she whispers.
“You can get her a glass as well, Alpha Maxwell,” I announce.
“It seems you need to get permission from her before making a decision. Well, that’s what makes a real man, who can have a happy home. You know a happy Luna makes a happy home,” Alpha Maxwell brings the glasses and places them on the table.
He reaches for a bottle of whiskey, filling the glasses one after the other. “Ladies first,” he hands over a glass to Nova, and takes his seat. Picking up a glass of liquid, “When do you intend to avenge your father’s death, Alpha Arthur? It’s been years, and you still choose to let the Lycans wander around after what they did to you.”
I pick up a glass myself, and gulp down a little liquid, “Hmmm… this is a strong one,” referring to the drink.
Alpha Maxwell and Beta Goddard nod their heads in agreement, and we all laugh hard.
“I can’t do anything to the Lycans. You know how powerful they are.”
“Come off it, Alpha Arthur. This has always been the belief and that’s why the Lycans get away with whatever crimes they commit. You know it’s time that Alphas decide on ways to face those beasts. They’ve done so much harm to the wolves, and no one can challenge them.”
“I don’t care about their strengths, or ways to bring them down. I’m worried for my people. If I choose to wage a war between my pack and the Lycans, I will lose a lot of my people. I believe you understand my point of concern?”
They both nod their heads in agreement.
My eyes take in my environment, “Where is your son? I’ve not seen him around.”
“The young man will soon be back. He went to search for his sister who has been missing for over four months now. I told him to stop searching, but he refused. Very stubborn animal,” Alpha Maxwell forces a smile on his face.
I can see the hurt in his eyes and I know he’s trying to hide it.
“Sorry about your missing daughter, Alpha Maxwell. I didn’t know you had a daughter.”
“Yes, I do. My precious Nova. I don’t know what happened to her a few months back. We were informed by the hunters that they saw her car crash into the woods, but her body was missing. No one knows what happened or who took her. I think she is dead. I believe some wild animals might have feasted on her fresh.” Alpha Maxwell points at Nova, “Your Mate is shading tears.”
Immediately, I sent my attention in her direction. Clearing my throat, “That’s how soft of a lady she is,” I had to say something because Nova couldn’t hold back her tears.
“Thinking of it, Alpha Maxwell, what if your daughter, Nova, is alive and well, and she’s looking for ways to reach out to you….”
We all suddenly heard the smashing of plates and it got our attention. It was Luna. She stood in shock, tears filled her eyes.
“Is my precious girl alive? How can I see her, please? Oh, my baby,” she rushes toward me, holding my hand as she kneels before me.
