Alpha Arthur;
She asked the most impossible question and I raised my brow as I stared at her. Why is she so concerned about returning to her father’s pack when she knows her body doesn’t belong to her? I can’t let her return with Elara’s body, and this, she was meant to know.
Why does she keep asking the same question over and over? It’s very frustrating. I’m looking for ways to keep her far from danger, while she, on the other hand, is so bent on returning to wherever.
The least of my problems is basically what she desires right now. Her safety is my concern. Heard my pack members were going crazy over the fact that I ordered a massacre. They are crying for their fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters who were killed by me, and they want me to step down from my throne. Something they are fully aware that it’s not possible, and will never be possible.
I know how to deal with them. My only fear is Elara. If they find out that she survived, they will come haunting her. However, they can never have access to my mansion. They dare not even make an attempt to invade it. They know the price they will pay will be more gruesome compared to what their stupid families have paid.
For Elara’s safety, I don’t trust Chloe. There is a high possibility that if she hears about the fact that the pack members are looking for Elara. She will give them the information needed, just like the way she did when I was searching for Elara.
The worst of it right now, is the fact Elara’s body is possessed by Nova’s soul. A stranger who knows nothing about everything that is going on. She can easily fall into the wrong hands, and get killed. This is a very sensitive time, and I need to be very protective of her.
Alpha Blade is also a hell of a prick. Crazy how he fails to understand the situation. His major concern is to take Elara back to his pack. I’ve tried explaining it to him. This was the wrong time and it wouldn’t be possible. Elara can not leave my mansion until the dust outside is calm.
Why can’t he just understand? I know he’s trying to provoke me by touching Elara. He is fully aware that this is not the right time for us to start fighting. But he keeps acting like the dick that he is. I will get back to him when I’m done here with Elara.
“You can’t return to your father’s pack or your home, Nova. It’s dangerous out there.”
“And why is that?” with her hands crossed around her chest, her head jerked side to side.
“It’s complicated, Nova,” scratching my brows as I stare right at her face.
“Complicated can be explained right? At least I need a proper explanation as to why no one is letting me out of here. I’m fully aware that this body does not belong to me, but I also do have my life. I have my parents to reach out to before it’s too late. I don’t even have that much of a time. Please, Alpha Arthur, just let me go.”
I understood everything she was saying because I’m not dumb. I get the fact she wants to go see her parents. That’s the first thing every reasonable child should ever think of. But it wasn’t safe for her out there. There is a high possibility that something will happen to her even before she gets to see her parents.
A lot of crazy events are going on in my pack right now, and I don’t want anyone to get hurt. Not even Nova or Elara. These two are one in a body. I hope she can understand.
“What’s your fear, Alpha Arthur? You think I will leave and never return, and you all won’t get to see Elara again?” Her palm places on her chest, her face stretches forward beneath my gaze. “I won’t run away, Alpha Arthur. I promise you, I won’t. Let me just go see my parents and make sure everything is alright. Please.”
Her persistence made me lightly gust. I move closer to her, holding her arms, “Elara!…. Oh, sorry, Nova. You can’t leave because Elara is wanted in my pack. They believe she committed a crime by being the reason why I ordered hundreds of my people to be killed.”
“What?”
Nodding my head, “Yeah. I killed them because I had to. They did something despicable, and I made them pay for their crime. Hope you understand the gravity of things?”
Her gaze darts back and forth in confusion as she stares at me. A little fear can be seen in her eyes. Slowly, she moves away from me, leaving a gap between us. What’s going on in her head? Why did she move away from me? “Are you alright, Nova?”
She anxiously clears her throat, “Yeah, I’m fine. I just need to have a rest.”
With my hands fixed in my pockets, “Alright. I will give you the room so you can have your rest,” I breathe hard and walk away from the room to join the others in the living room. I knew she wasn’t alright, but pretending to be. That’s not much of a problem as long as she is under my mansion. I’m fine with whatever feelings that she has playing out.
It might be very hard for her at this first stage but within time, she will be alright. I can’t risk anything happening to her because of Elara. I have to do my best in protecting them.
“Alpha Arthur,” Loki storms toward me. “The council of elders are here to see you.”
“What do they want with me?”
“The news of what happened has been spreading in the entire city, and across other packs. I believe that’s their reason for coming here.”
“Did they speak to you about what they want me to do?” I roll up my sleeves. “They know me too well that I’m not a fan of their bullshit. So what do they want?”
“They are requesting that you tender a general apology to everyone in the pack, or you step down.”
Gusting hard, “What a funny beings,” I place my hands on my waist, “So this set of elders didn’t find what those fools did, as offensive? Well, what do I expect? They were the ones that birthed most of those gruesome beings and they basically installed their knowledge in them. Tell them, that I will join them soon,” tweaking my fingers in the direction of the exit, so Loki can leave.
Loki bows his head and returns to my meeting chambers.
My head pushes backward, head up, my hands still placed on my waist as I let out a heavy breath. When does all this get to end? Just when? The only thing I want is for Elara to be alright, and we get to spend our time together. I know this is not too much to ask, so why is the Goddess making things complicated for us?
I will check what it is with those old men, and make them understand that they will get nothing from me.
“Please, a minute, Alpha Arthur,” Chloe calls out as she approaches me. Another headache has just arrived. What does she want this time?
“Yes, Chloe. What do you want? Quickly say whatever it is, I have the elders waiting for me.”
“I knew you would look for an excuse to not listen to me. But I will be fast with my words, Alpha. I just have a question for you,” she gazes at me, right in my eyes, “Who is Nova, and why is she in Elara’s body?” Her question made my brow slightly raised.
My lips twisted upward as I stared at her, struggling within myself to hide the fact that I was shocked by her question. I don’t need Chloe to use my body language for her confirmation, because I can tell she’s here for confirmation.
But how did she find out about this? Who is feeding her with the truth?
