Chapter 31

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-10-27

Alpha Arthur;
“Are you alright, Elara?” I question because her face is looking pale with sadness.
“Yes, I am, Alpha,” I notice how she heavily gulps down her spit, her eyes flickering like they are trying to fight back tears.
The confusion I see on her face is giving me a signal that she is uncomfortable with this place. This was not my reason for bringing her here. I wanted her to have a fresh breeze away from my suffocating home, and her sister.
I knew she was very mad at me over my reaction between her sister and her. But it was for the best. I needed to act that way to protect her from something I didn’t understand either. I feel there is more to the argument they had, and trust me, I overheard their conversation.
The sad reality is that, if Elara wants to beat someone like Chloe, she has to work on her emotions. This is where I come in.
I know you will be wondering and asking why I don’t just take action as the Alpha King. The truth is, I’m not allowed to harm my subjects if they are innocent. So until Chloe or her mother is proven guilty, I can’t get myself involved in this. Not even when Chloe is the Luna of the pack, and I’m still trying to work things out with Elara.
I felt hurt seeing Elara cry in such a way, and I wished I had the power to rip off the neck of Chloe myself. The only thing I know I can do for Elara, is to support her from behind. Making sure that she is mentally and emotionally alright to face the battle.
Elara may not understand this, but I believe with time, she will get to notice my support behind her. Something I’m grateful for, and love so much about her; it’s the fact that she is a strong she-wolf. Not those weak ones who will sit and expect someone to spoon feed them.
I can’t wait for Chloe to fall into the pit I’ve created for her, so I will finally chase her out of my life. I know Loki won’t get mad at me if I give him a tangible reason.
“Can you tell me about that young girl,” Elara calls my attention. “I want to know what happened to her? Where is she? What’s her name?”
“Hey! Calm down, Elara. One question at a time.”
She let out a long deep breath, pushing her head back, trying to hold back her tears. Her reaction was getting me confused, and I wished I was her fated mate. So I could get a feeling of her emotions and know how to deal with them.
“The girl, Alpha, what happened to her?”
“I heard she and her mother died, and that was the same day my aunt went missing.” I whiff as the incident of that day feels fresh in my mind. I recall coming here to meet up with the girl as I always did, but was informed that she passed away a few days back, alongside her mother.
I had tried searching for their home, something I could use in locating them. Seemed no one knew about them, or had ever heard anything concerning them. Everyone made me feel like they were ghosts of the past.
“When was that, Alpha? And what was her name?” The curiosity in Elara’s voice makes me wonder why she is so interested in this.
Was it the fact that the person in question was a girl? But that was a long time ago, and I don’t even like speaking about her. She was my first love, and it hurts my heart whenever I speak of her.
“They died a long time ago, Elara. Can we stop speaking of the dead and focus on the reason I brought you here,” my voice sounds a bit harsh, because of the memory of my first love playing in my head.
I noticed as Elara’s face fell in sadness and disappointment. I immediately pull her closer, wrapping my arms around her body in a warm embrace. Making her feel alright. I don’t understand my reason for doing this, but I hate to see her sad.
Pushing myself away from her, I step down from the car, and turn around to the other side of the car. Opening the door for her, “You can come down, Elara. I want us to take a walk.”
She gives me a bright smile, and I feel my heart melt. Her smile is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, and I always want her to wear it. It’s funny how I find myself wanting Elara to always be around me. It’s not about me wanting to fuck her anymore. I just want her to stay with me and do a lot of things with me.
I know I’m being selfish, because I don’t want to care about what she wants. But a man will always be a man for that special woman he comes across in his life.
“Do we have to take a walk?” She voices out as I close the door of the car behind her.
“It’s fine you don’t want to.”
“Come on, Alpha,” she whiffs in amusement, “Stop being a pup. I only wanted to make sure I’m not making you do this just to make me feel alright. I love taking a walk. It’s one of my favorite things with my mum,” she grabs my hand and leads the way.
Walking side by side with her, I throw the important questions that I’ve been very curious to hear her respond to. “So tell me about your mother. What was she like, and what happened to her?” She instantly halts her feet in her tracks, letting go of my hand and staring at me.
“Oh!… Well!… Hmm!” I clear my throat. “I’m sorry if my questions are sensitive,” I throw my eyes up, avoiding her eagle stares.
I hear her giggle, holding my hand once again, “Why do you keep acting like a cute pup today, Alpha?” She breaks into laughter. Pull me by the hand, and we continue our walk.
Surprisingly, she starts speaking to me about it all. How her life changed for the worse after the death of her mother. Her step-mother, and Chloe, treated her wrong. Her fiance cheated on her a few days before their wedding, with a hotter she-wolf.
Trust me, that fiance is too blind. He dare picked another she-wolf over this beauty.
Something funny she mentioned; wanting to take her revenge on her fiance by sleeping with his best friend, only to end up in bed with me. Wa ooh! That’s amazing, and recommendable. However, I noticed she is trying hard to avoid speaking of her mother’s death; how her mother died.
I understand, and I won’t force her to, until whenever she is ready.
She also speaks about her best friend, Malicia, who she loves and cherishes so much. Asking permission for her to invite the best friend over, and I nod my head in agreement. I can’t even say no to Elara’s wish right now.
I saw the happiness on her face when I gave her the approval. In excitement, she jumps on me, hugging me tightly.
I whiff, “Is this friend that important to you?”
She nods her head eagerly, giving me a ‘yes.’
“Is there anything else you want from me?” my eyes lock with hers.
“Yes, Alpha,” she softly responds, moving closer to me, and leaving a soft kiss on my lips. “Thank you so much for today,” she utters.
Whiffing as my brow slightly raises, “Seems you are very much excited right now?” I stroke her hair with my palm. She eagerly nods her head, her lips revealing her beautiful smile.
For some unknown reason, whenever Elara smiles, she has a slight resemblance to that little girl. However, it could just be my thoughts playing tricks with me.
“Are you ready for us to leave, or do you still want to spend more time in this place?” My palm moves from her hair, all the way to her beautiful face. My thumb finger softly brushes her red cheek, making its way to her full, pouty lips.
I step forward into her, my eyes looking over her face, “If you want us to spend more time together, it’s okay with me. I also want to spend that time with you,” my head leans in, as the urge to have a taste of her lips consumes my system.
“I don’t….” She is in the process of responding to me when I hear Kalus’ voice from the side, “This is not the right time or place for romance,” he approaches us.
In unison, Elara and I turn to face him.
“What are you doing here, Kalus? How did you find us?” Sending my hands in my pockets as I gaze at him in an unbelievable way.
Kalus has always been filled with wonderful behaviors ever since we were boys. So his presence at this place is not much of a shocker to me.
“I’m here to save your life,” he goofed around. “I bear forth good and bad news,” he announces, stopping dead in his tracks right in front of us.
Klaus points at Elara, “Tell me, Princess. Which do you want to hear first, because both news has everything to do with you?” His cheeks run from ear to ear.
