I roar in anger, my fangs stretching forth. As I make to sink them into her skin, I feel a hard gasp on my arm. Pulling me away from Chloe.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing, Elara?” Alpha Arthur wraps my body with his arms, preventing me from attacking Chloe.
He stopped me from destroying her. Alpha Arthur, fucking stopped me.
Struggling hard to break free from Alpha Arthur’s arms, the tears in my eyes stream down my face. The remainder of my childhood trauma I had on the night of that tragic day, comes flooding my brain. My body starts to tremble, my heart ripping into pieces. The picture of my mother’s last smile which faded into sadness, as she lay in a pool of her blood, became alive in my memory. My heart is ripping into a million pieces right now.
“How dare your Luna speak about my late mother? How dare she mock me over my mother’s tragic death!?” My tears rain uncontrollably, “Alpha, please let go of me. I need this bitch to feel what my mother felt that day,” fighting even harder to break free.
“Enough, Elara! Enough!” Alpha Arthur roars, gripping my arms and shaking my body hard, “Get a hold of yourself. You are in my presence,” he commands.
The rate of my heartbeat increases, my chest falling up and down as I bite my lower lips in agony. Looking at Alpha Arthur right now, I can’t help but hate him. Why did he have to stop me from ending Chloe’s life, and pretending to not hear a word of what she said to me?
Do my tears and pain mean nothing to him?
“Alpha,” Chloe cries out, pointing at me, “You see how Elara is tasty for my blood. She wants to kill me because I asked her to co-exist with me,” her hands brushing her already reddish neck, with tears gushing down her cheeks.
Chloe’s lies to Alpha Arthur, caused me to gasp my hair in anger. I was not surprised about the fact that she just lied against me. That had been her ever since we were growing up, and everybody always believed her. Who wouldn’t? With how beautiful and innocent her face looks.
I look more like a villain than the actual villain, Chloe.
“And you,” Alpha Arthur points at her, “I want you to also shut the fuck up, and return to your room,” he orders, but his voice holds no anger like the way it had with mine. This only indicates that Alpha Arthur has just picked her lies and expressions, over mine.
I now despise everything that has to do with him, even his breath and name.
“Ok, Alpha.” Chloe shoots me a glance one last time, displaying a nasty smile on her face. My first clench by my side, as I close my eyes trying to control my already-built rage.
Once again, she was lucky. But this time, I swear by my mother’s grave, Chloe and her mother will not get away from this. I will use everything within me to reopen the case of my mother. It’s time to free that innocent nanny from her misery. I need to get the nanny out of that dungeon and send the right culprits there.
I had always known that Chloe’s mother had a hand in the death of mine. However, they keep hiding the truth from the world, and suppressing the evidence. Since Chloe has chosen to help with my confirmation, it’s time to go hard on them. I don’t care what it will cost me.
Alpha Arthur takes hold of my wrist, jerking me away, into his bedroom. He slams the door close behind him. “Why do you want to kill your sister?” He moves closer to me, his expression emotionless.
The fact that he knows Chloe is my sister and goes ahead to wife her, is sending me off even more. At first, I thought he was unaware. But the way he had just casually mentioned it, signified he knew the truth from day one. How will a man be so shameless having two sisters under his wings? How did he even go fucking Chloe, when he knew I had a one night stand with him?
“How dare he?”
“How dare who?” Alpha Arthur responds.
I immediately bite my tongue in my mouth as the realization of me voicing out my inner thoughts, hits me.
“Speak to me, Elara. How dare who? And why are you fighting your sister?” he reaches out for my right hand, trying to hold it but I snatch it backward.
“How dare nobody, Alpha. I wasn’t referring to anyone?” I softly utter, throwing my face to the side.
He places his palm on my cheek, bringing my face back in his direction, “Seems you are mad at me over something. What is it? You can speak, I’m ready to listen,” his voice sounds very gentle, and his face is etched with concern.
Why does he care, after he had lashed out at me in the presence of Chloe?
There is actually no need for him to play nice with me right now. Just a few seconds ago when I expected him to stand up for me, he did not, so what now? Why is he even pretending not to hear what Chloe has said to me? Or does he also want to act like he didn’t hear me spit out those words about my mother to her? Such a hypocrite.
I grip the hands of my wool blue sweater from each end, with it, I brush off the tears on my cheeks. “I’m very much ok, Alpha. You wanted to see me. I’m here.”
His fingers dig through his hair. His eyes darted everywhere in confusion, like that of a confused baby, “Yes, I wanted to see you, but I don’t think this is the right mood for it.” Alpha Arthur throws his eyes upward, trying to avoid my gaze.
My eyebrow arcs, creating a crumple on my forehead, “I don’t think this mood is stopping anything. Why did you request my presence?” I casually ask.
At this point, I’m losing my patience with him. He should speak up. He has to speak up because it was his call that led me into that fight with Chloe.
“I will unveil what it is at the right time,” seizing my wrist, Alpha Arthur hauls me closer to himself. His finger lifts up my chin as he towers over me, “I need to take you somewhere,” he announces, a grin spreads across his face.
“Alpha, I’m in no….”
He doesn’t even bother to listen to me as he lifts me from the ground. Cuddle me in his arms, closer to his chest, and lead us outside.
His driver opens the door of the car and Alpha Arthur gently places me on the front seat of his car.
“I will drive her,” he snatches the key from the driver, and winks at him. The driver stood very shocked, gazing at Alpha Arthur.
Alpha Arthur takes his position, and helps me fix my seatbelt. He starts the car, and drives off.
“Where are you heading to, Alpha?”
“Some place you will like. A place that will go in line with your wolf,” he replies, his eyes fixed on the windshield.
“How does he even know a place that will go in line with my Wolf,” sending my face downward as I mutter the words.
“I can hear youuuuu,” he announces in a playful manner, and I giggle, “Very childish.”
“What music do you love, Elara?” Alpha Arthur turns on the music, nodding his head to it.
As I look at him, I feel my face grow warm, and my cheeks flush pink. Immediately, I look away, trying to hide my blush, but my favorite music instantly pops up. I find myself nodding to it, and singing along. Alpha Arthur also sings along with me, and I turn in his direction, we both amplify the temple of our voices.
Singing louder in unison with a smile on our faces. Enjoying every bit of our presence.
This was the first time I’ve found myself enjoying the company of Alpha Arthur. I can’t deny the truth that I like this part of him. Acting like the common male wolf, not an Alpha King.
Alpha Arthur drives us through the city. We keep singing, and even sway our bodies to the dance hall music. Our vibes are top-notch and I hope this ride will not end.
All my worries seem to fade away. My heart became free and excited just like a bird out of its cage. After a few more kilometers, the car pulls up into a very silent lane, and everything begins to look familiar.
“Where are we, Alpha?” my body moving side by side on my seat, as I try to take a better glance at the familiar environment.
“We are almost there,” he responds and then pulls up into an open field. The car comes to a stop, and my eyes shoot open, my heart racing faster.
Why did Alpha Arthur bring me here? What does he know about this place? How is he connected to this place? And how did he know this place would go in line with my Wolf?
I ask all these questions because this is the place I always visited with my mother when I was a girl. This place holds a lot of memories; happy, sad, and painful. Memories I choose to run away from.
I never returned here after the death of my mother, so how did Alpha Arthur know about this place?
Shooting him an instant glance, I make to ask my questions loudly but he gently holds my hands. With a smile on his face, he utters to me, “Ever since I was a boy, this is where I come to get my peace whenever I’m mad at someone. No one knows about this place, aside from the beautiful girl who came here with her mother years back,” stroking my hands, “Welcome to the other side of me, Elara.”
