My feet dart through the hospital lobby floor, the echoing of my footsteps and that of my men can be heard in the walls of the hospital. Everyone in the hospital ducks their heads, and Doc. Mike, alongside some doctors, rushes toward me.
“This way, please,” he points in a direction and leads the way, then I follow behind him.
We get to the hospital conference hall, and the three young men working on a laptop, immediately stand to their feet as they notice my presence. With the display on the screen of the laptop, I already knew they were the CCTV technicians.
“So tell me, guys, what did you discover?” I stuff my hands into my pockets.
One of the men reaches out for the laptop, and turns it better in my direction. He clicks on the play button.
Bending a bit, my eyes fix on the screen of the laptop as I pay close attention to every detail. The CCTV cameras display how Elara left her hospital ward into the restroom. How she brought out a piece of paper from her hair. Also how she made her way out, through another door.
“Hold on…. How did she get that piece of paper?” I think to myself, and revise the clip to the start. It was then I noticed the nurses communicated with Elara, and gave her the piece of paper.
Shooting upright, and turning to Doc. Mike, “Where are these nurses? Someone should go drag them here,” I gave my orders, as I fixed my butt on a seat.
My men leave with some doctors to carry out my order.
Doc. Mike also takes a seat beside me, “Do these nurses know who she was? I mean, did they know your Luna before now?”
“That will be a question only they can answer. How dare your nurses help Elara escape? I pray they have a reasonable explanation for this or I will make them pay dearly for it.”
Doc. Mike raises his brows as he nods his head in agreement with my words.
My men and the doctors return to the conference hall, tugging the nurses by their arms. I notice as the bodies of the nurses tremble, with beads of sweat glistening on their foreheads. My men shove them forward toward me, and they kneel before me.
“Please, Alpha, we are sorry. It wasn’t an intentional act but the work of the devil’s manifestation,” one of them pleads.
I jam my finger into my ear, trying to dislodge the annoying tickle of her voice. I hate it when people commit an offense, and then accuse the devil of it because they know he is the easiest that can be accused. Anyway, that’s not my focus right now.
“Where is Elara?” my gaze sprints back and forth between them, my ears straighten, waiting for their feedback.
They keep mute, looking at themselves like confused fools. It’s evident they don’t want to say anything. These fools actually want to awaken the beast in me, and have a taste of my wrath. If that is the case, I will grant them their wish.
Sending my stare at my head warrior, Ryder, I cock my head, giving him the order. He grabs the hair of a nurse, and pulls her head backward. In a flash, he slit her throat with his claws, blood splashing out as she clutches onto her throat, laying on the floor. Just in seconds, she became lifeless.
I narrow my eyebrows, turning toward the other nurse, who is already quivering with intense fear. “Where is Elara!? I hate to repeat myself.”
Her trembling finger points upward, “A man took her from the hospital,” her voice comes out shaking. Bowing her hand and clasping her hands above her head, “Please Alpha spare my life. Please, I beg of you.”
I softly sigh, rubbing my forehead with my fingers in frustration. Anger washed over me, consuming every part of my body. The urge to waste her useless life course through my veins, and I know if I dare speak to her one more time, I will kill her for sure.
Ryder seems to understand the expression on my face as he immediately takes over the interrogation. He reaches out to the nurse who is pleading for her life, pulling her by the hair, head up.
“Who is the man you speak of, or I slit your throat?” Ryder roars, his nails already digging into her flesh.
Ryder is my Gamma; my third in command after my Beta, Bronson, who is my second in command. Ryder is active because my Beta is unavailable for now. Something I like about Ryder is the fact that he hates to speak and works with a lot of action. A Gamma who never disappoints.
“Kalus! The name of the man is Kalus,” in a shaking voice, the nurse utters.
I shoot upright at the mention of the name, ‘Kalus.’ Whiffing and clenching my hand into a fist, my fingers digging in. Why do I have so many idiots around me? What does that crazy Kalus want from me that he took Elara? How did he even find out about Elara? Has he been monitoring my every move or what? Such a lowlife fool.
Kalus and I were friends while growing up, but the death of his family member made us go our separate ways. He felt I was responsible because I was present at the scene. I had tried proving my innocence to him a copy of the times, but he chose not to believe me and I’m done with that crap.
Brushing my beard, I sigh in frustration. Seems Kalus wants to go toe to toe with me, I will grant him his wish. I don’t care if he’s an Alpha Wolf, or comes from a reputable home. I will make him pay for laying his dingy hands on Elara.
With my face etched with anger, I storm out of the conference hall to the car, and my men follow behind me.
“Take us to Kalus’ home,” Ryder orders the driver as I fix myself in the backseat of my Rolls-Royce. The driver starts the car and drives off.
Arriving at Kalus’ mansion, his imbecile men surround our cars. Their claws stretch forth. Their loud howling fills the air.
Do these fools not know that these cars belong to me, their Alpha? Or do they want to taste death faster than they could imagine?
My glance falls upon Ryder, “Put those fools in their positions, but bring one of them alive to me,” resting my head on the headrest of the chair, my hands spread at my sides. I watch Ryder come down from the car, howling in anger, and the rest of my men sprint out of the cars.
Ryder moves toward the fools, having a conversation with them. But I choose not to pay attention to the conversation. I don’t want to hear their annoying voices. The eyes of the fools instantly dart in my direction, as the head of the fools’ lips keeps moving. I could tell they just found out about my presence.
I whiff in amusement when Ryder and my other men extend their claws, and I cast my eyes away to the side. I already knew what was to come. My ears itching to hear their miserable screams. Raising my fingers to my face, I count the words… 1- 2 – 3 – and right there, it comes; the slashing, and ripping of the fleshes of those fools in a brutal way.
I gust in amusement, cleaning my right ear as their screams sting my ears.
The door of my car opens, causing me to turn my attention in that direction. Ryder was the one who opened the door, pulling one of the fools by his shirt collar. He flings the fool into the car and shuts the door behind the fool.
The fool suddenly forces himself to kneel before me, rubbing his palms together in a desperate plea. “I’m very sorry, Alpha. I didn’t know you were the one. Please spare my life,” ducking his head repeatedly.
“Where is Elara?”
“Huh?” He pauses, gazing at me in a confused way.
Closing my eyes and breathing out in frustration, I question him for a second time, “Where the fuck is Elara?”
“Please Alpha, I don’t know who Elara is. I’m very sorry. Please spare my life,” once again, he begins to bow his head repeatedly.
I grasp his shirt collar as anger courses through my veins, popping out my veins. “If you don’t fucking tell me where your stupid boss kept her, I will rip out your disgusting heart from your chest,” my jaw clench in irritation.
“I’m sorry, Alpha. I’m sorry,” he pleads even more.
I extend my claws, raising them in the air to slash his flesh, when he immediately speaks out. “My Boss sold her to Alpha Arthur. Please, I’m sorry.”
“What?” my hand in the air becomes weak, and falls down to my side. My heart, racing faster like it’s about to explode. Why does Alpha Arthur have Elara, and what does this fool mean by sold? Did Kalus sell her, or what? And how did Kalus get to know about Alpha Arthur, and the fact that he wants Elara?
I exhale deeply, wiggling my fingers in the direction of the door, for the fool to leave. He stands up and dashes away.
Ryder opens the door, sitting beside me, “What did he say, Alpha?
I try to speak but the anger in me has consumed a whole of me. With a loud roar, I clench my fingers into a fist, punching the seat right in front of me. “Get the men ready, Ryder, it’s time to pay Alpha Arthur a surprise visit,” my nose scrunches, twerking in anger.
