Alpha Blade;
“Doc. Mike, how do you want me to believe a girl ran away from your hospital and none of your staff saw her in the process? Can you make this make sense to me?” I slightly raise my brow as I stare at Doc. Mike, who is sitting directly opposite to me in his office.
The fact that Elara has been missing for hours now, is something I can’t seem to fathom. How did she make her way out of this huge hospital surrounded by doctors and nurses, without any of them setting their eyes on her? This is a bigger reason why I fix my men everywhere because other beings are just incompetent for my liking.
“Alpha Blade, I also don’t know what to make of this, but I promise you, she will be found and brought back to you,” Doc. Mike responds, resting his head on the headrest of his seat.
If it was some other doctor who made such a mistake in his hospital, he wouldn’t be breathing right now. But it’s Doc. Mike, and I can’t do anything to him. I dare not, even if I’m an Alpha King.
Aside from the fact that he is special to me, Doc. Mike is a Lycan, and more powerful than wolves, even an Alpha wolf. He isn’t meant to dwell among us but his talent in medicine makes it possible for him, and he knows how important his role is, in the wolves’ packs.
But something about him, he had never tried to act or tasted power with any of the Alpha Kings. He made sure to remain respectful to them, especially to me. Even when he is very much older than me.
“What about the CCTV, have they been fixed?” I asked.
Right now, I just need something, anything that can help me trace Elara.
When I ordered my men to search the whole city for her, and they returned with the negative news of not being able to find her, I became furious. I felt like tearing their flesh apart. I had to send them out for a second search, this time splitting them into different parts of the city. But they all came back with the same negative news.
It was then it dawned on me that Elara might not be in the city. So I requested that her hospital ward cameras, Doc. Mike had informed me that they were faulty, should be fixed. For the cameras to be faulty only implies that someone or people in the hospital knew what happened.
I will make sure to find them, and when I do, none of them will escape my wrath.
“Well for those CCTV, no good news from the security system engineers. But we are hoping for good news soon,” Doc. Mike replies. I watch as his face falls with sadness.
I know he is embarrassed about something like this happening in his hospital, and will try not to allow such an event to ever occur again. However, I don’t blame him much for it.
Standing up from my seat, “It’s fine Doc. Mike. But please, inform me once it has been fixed.” I bring my wrist closer to my face and check my wristwatch, “It’s time for me to leave,” and with that, I step out of his office.
Returning to my mansion and trying to have a little rest, I feel a hollowness within me, a void that echoes with every beat of my heart. It’s as if a part of me is missing, leaving a vast, empty space that cannot be filled.
The emptiness is a weight that presses upon my chest, making it hard to breathe. It’s hard to admit it, but I miss Elara. I don’t know how best to describe this feeling or what to name it after. Something I only understand is my urge to see her right now.
I wish I had taken it easy on her. I wish I didn’t send her down to that hospital, and listened to her when she wanted to speak. I wish I could turn back the hand of time, and hug her, rather than blame her for being pregnant. I just wish the Moon Goddess could listen to my plea and bring her back to me.
Elara, my fated mate, and Luna, where are you?
My thoughts kept causing tears to prick at the sides of my eyes, and my heartbeat allowed them to flow down my cheeks. Why do I feel so sad? Why am I feeling this weak inside of me? What is this thing about Elara that’s causing me to miss her so much? Why does my heart feel consumed by so much weight?
“Alpha, what’s going on? You’ve been so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t hear me calling out to you,” Jasmine speaks, planting her feet right in front of me.
Her voice caused me to jerk out of my thoughts, and I took a nervous swallow.
“When did you arrive here, Jasmine?” I move away from her, toward my wardrobe, because I know what next she will try to do. Play with my cock or suck it, just to get my full attention, and she always wins in that.
“I’ve been in this room for more than seconds, yelling at your name but you didn’t respond or should I say, see me. You were lost in space, Alpha. What is going on with you?” She encircles her body with her arms.
Gently scratching my right brow with my index, I shoot Jasmine a side glance, “Is there a reason you are in my room? The last time I checked, I never requested your presence.”
“Heard you are searching for her. Why?” Jasmine blurts out.
Taking my glance back to the wardrobe, “Is there a problem?” my hands ransacking the clothes in the wardrobe.
“Yes, Alpha,” she pushes toward me, her fingers enfolding my right arm, “What has come over you? I’ve never seen you so worried about any she-wolf aside from Leona. Have you fallen in love with that whore? I know it’s not possible, but you are acting like a man in love,” she utters the words, and I feel my heart skip.
Jasmine asked the one question I had no answer. She is fully aware of my relationship with Leona, and how Leona picked Alpha Arthur over me. However, I made sure not to inform her about Leona’s return and Leona wanting to be in my life. I’m even yet to give Leona feedback about her request.
On second thought, am I in love with Elara? Nah… I don’t think so, I can’t be. But If I’m not, then what is this feeling of adrenaline coursing through my veins? How do I explain this emotion? Is it the mate bond playing out or I’m sick? Why is Elara’s voice and smile consuming every part of me? Wish I could explain why all this is playing out with me.
“Alpha, why are you mute over my questions? Wait!… hold on! Are you truly in love with that whore,” Jasmine stretches her head from the side, gazing over me from below.
“No, I’m not. Enough of the interrogation because I owe you no explanation,” once again, I step away from her, moving closer to my dressing table and leaning on it.
At this rate, I just want her to stop speaking to me about Elara. I know she is trying to get more information from me, but I will make sure she remains in the dark. I don’t want her to get mad over Elara and make things more difficult for Elara.
“Jasmine, can you please just leave me right now? I wish to be alone,” crossing my legs and arms as I push my head backward.
“Alpha, has to come to this? You don’t want me around? My presence now disgusts you,” she starts with her ranting.
But just when she makes an attempt to take another step closer to me, I hear a knock on the door. Just at the right time.
I shove myself away from the dressing table, “Whoever it is, can come in,” I announce, and my head warrior, Ryder, walks in.
Inclining his head in deep respect, his chin touching his chest, “Greetings Alpha. There is a new update about the CCTV,” he informs.
My brow slightly raises and immediately returns to neutral, “What’s the update?” I feel my heartbeat racing in anticipation. I want to hear Ryder speak, and I hope it’s something positive.
Ryder pushes his head upward, staring at me as he utters, “The cameras have been fixed and Doc. Mike request….” without paying attention to the rest of his words, I shove him out of my way with my shoulder.
I rushed right to the hospital to see, and hear things for myself.
